Our room was VERY spacious, particularly for New York. Lots of room to spread out and work, if that is part of your plan. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was good and a real bargain for New York. Sitting areas were plentiful and spacious and the always-available cucumber-infused water was delicious. The hotel is wonderfully quiet, for those seeking a quiet haven.

Fitness room is VERY dark and should be brightened up. It would be great if coffee was available throughout the day. Location is a bit distant from the local restaurants and the fact that the hotel sits at the edge of an industrial area means you can hear the trucks early in the a.m. but it’s still worth the stay.

The bed was so comfortable and the room had everything I needed. The hotel was stylish, lovely art in the room. I didn't know there was a gym and was delighted there was one. The location was very close to whom I was visiting so it was perfect but also a lovely treat for my holiday. Massive 2 tv's in the room, couch, great wifi

The room was spotless and the quality of the linen was great. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The suite felt very homey yet luxurious.

The nearest subway station is a little more than a 10 minute walk which isn't great but not too bad at all.

We had a loft suite which was bigger than we expected, especially for New York so we were delighted, it was a great size , the hotel is very cool and nicely decorated and designed pretty laid back but well done staff were lovely

Our suite was on the ground floor which was a bit odd as it was called a ‘ loft suite ‘ The issue with this was the noisy traffic which bellowed through our room in the middle of the night at times , as our suite was right on the corner of a cross street It wasn’t all the time at night ,but definitely happened a few times when we were asleep which woke us up unfortunately However on balance this didn’t completely spoil our stay it was such a great room and hotel we would definitely stay here again And to be honest we could have complained and moved to an upstairs room which might have helped ,but we didn’t know until after our first night so didnt bother If we stay again though we will definitely ask for a room on a higher floor which might help , but it is New York after all

We stayed in the Penthouse Loft (Roof Deck) and the view was stunning - we could see the whole of Manhattan including the Empire State & Crysler. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Quirky but lovely hotel. Quiet and peaceful which is hard to come by in this city! Surrounding area is very nice - feels safe, beautiful nearby park, walkable to vibrant Brooklyn retail areas.

20-30 minute walk to nearest subway station going to manhattan. 10 minutes walk to groceries. Kitchen in penthouse fairly basic with limited equipment such as baking trays. Breakfast was ok for $10 - fruit, yogurt, cereal, choice of 2 or 3 pastries.

This hotel is near where my daughter moved and not far from the subway. we stayed in room 217 it was quiet even though it faced the street. I thought the staff was exceptional. So nice and helpful from the front desk to the cleaning staff. Our room was huge. plenty of closet space. Coffee tea and bottled water free with fridge in room. bed comfortable. heat easy to set. balcony was large but we did not use as it is winter. my only complaint is the bathroom was cold.

The Henry Norman Hotel is located in a nice and quiet neighbourhood. We really enjoyed the laid-back vibe and the restaurants and bars nearby. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Moreover, we had a coffee machine in our room, which was a big plus. The view from the terrace is amazing, especially at sunrise. All of the staff were really friendly and attentive. We definitely hope to come back.

I enjoyed my stay at this lovely spacious hotel in Brooklyn. Previously a warehouse, it has been modified in trendy fashion with very interesting decor. The bed was extremely comfortable and my deluxe loft suite had everything one could want in a studio type apartment. Everything worked well and the staff were very accommodating. It is on the verge of a previously industrial area that has become more gentrified. Walk in one direction and you have warehouses but in the other, you have beautiful McGolrick Park with a supermarket, coffee shops & numerous eateries very close by.

It is some walking distance to the nearest underground. There is quite a lot of noise transfer from one floor to the suite beneath as they are wooden floors and you can easily hear foot traffic above. I did appreciate a transfer to the third level where there was much less noise from above but It made me very mindful of walking softly with no shoes on for those below me.

The studio loft was bigger than some NY apartments. It was decorated with art, and being an artist I was pleased that they actually commissioned the art, instead of using it for free. I was really happy to find a place for two computers so that my husband and I could work. The bed and bedding were high quality comfort level, and there was drinking water in the gym to refill our water bottles? and a drip coffee maker in the room.

It was about half an hour walk from the best restaurants and shopping district in Brooklyn, but worth it because of the room. The price for the hotel was about twice as much as we paid for a great room in a great location in Paris the previous week. I wished it was less expensive.

The Deluxe loft suite was very spacious (for New York) and well put together. The hotel is very pleasant and the staff responsive. There are many restaurants nearby and a park. The area is safe to walk at night.

The breakfast is very basic but since we had a kitchen we had breakfast in our room. Whilst the subway station is close by, the line was closed on Sunday and you have to change to get anywhere. So getting to places does involve a lot of walking and multiple modes of transport. However, once we found out about the ferry, that was a much better way to travel.
