Located in a friendly and welcoming small town, the Station Inn was everything we could have asked for after spending some time in New York City. This was the perfect retreat and an authentic experience of the American lifestyle. The inn itself was clean, comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. Susan keeps an outstanding property, and having met her and her husband in the local Irish pub, we could sense the pride they had for the inn and for Pawling as their home.

As the name suggests, it is close to the train station, but the trains aren’t frequent through the night, so the noise didn’t impact us.

I have been in the hotel business in California for 50 years. Seldom, if ever, have I found such a little gem. I wanted a fine place to stay as I was going to a musical performance in Pawling and it was going to be special. From the concise rapid responses I received in making my reservation to the honest disclosure of no staff, electronic checkin etc to finally an immaculate room with excellent linens, great bed and very quiet, I was thoroughly pleased with the Station Inn. Bravo to the owners and management.

We've stayed here a few times and like it very much.

However, we reserved what was advertised as a king bed, but it wasn't. It was a queen bed with another little bed over on the side under the roof eaves which would be dangerous for an adult. The main problem was that it was up 3 flights of steep stairs. We are 73 and 75 years old and that was difficult. Folks need to know that this is a third floor walkup and that it has low ceilings and eaves, and that it is really a queen and a single. Recommend for people under 50, possibly with one young child.

It was impeccably clean, and the staff, although we didn't meet, was in good communication and very helpful. We loved every minute of our stay and we would definitely come back. The bed was amazing and comfortable as well! Great places to eat right around the corner and a delightful experience overall.

Having to park around the block is not optimal but in reality not a huge problem. Well worth it for what you get in return.

It was a simple smallish room with a provate bath There was coffee/tea bar open for all. It was clean and well decorated with fresh flowers. I was surprised that the room was serviced everyday. I no longer expect this.

Nicer toilet paper and hotter water would have been appreciated.

The room was well appointed, with comfortable bedding, TV, and wifi. Great location in Pawling, close to shops and restaurants. Coffee maker in hallway was a nice surprise.

The close proximity to the train tracks and crossing made for some difficulty with sleeping. We were in the front room, and even earplugs did not mask the train horn as it came and went.

The room looked so fresh and elegant. Since there wasn't space for a coffee maker, we appreciated how you created the coffee bar in the hallway alcove for all rooms to share. Also like having lights on both sides of the bed. And the terry robes were a great bonus. And lots of towels available in the vanity drawer.

No towel racks in the bathroom. And a shelf or 2 there would have been useful for placing our ditty bags.

The Station Inn was a last-minute booking. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised on how nice this stay was. Nice comfortable beds and little coffee nook in the hallway and absolutely no issues with check-in. Definitely will stay again if we are passing thru.

Too close to the train passage - Avoid room 21 when possible- First room at the top of the stairs; given the thin (very) walls, you get to hear every person walking by The smart lock could be placed a bit higher to make it less cumbersome to enter the code

Very small and private. Exceptionally clean and modern. I'm looking forward to my next stay.

1. In the bathroom of room 12, I would like to see vertical grab bars on either side of the toilet. It sits a little low and they would be helpful to either a right or left handed person who may have disability issues. 2. Similarly, a vertìcle grab bar could be placed outside of the shower beside the bedroom door to provide stability stepping out of the shower. 3. On a different note, the room above room 12 apparently did not have a rug on the floor. The tenant came in about 830 at night, with hard soled shoes that were very loud on the wood floor. I did call Stephany, after 2 hours, and she contacted them and it did help.
