This small hotel is very cosy and homey. I had to stay due to a burst pipe at my house and felt like I was at a home away from home. The staff are absolutely amazing! Thank you to Barbara and her team of Kyle’s, Athena, Braydon, and Latisha. They helped me so much with my insurance booking and generally being so kind and friendly always. A stressful time was eased because of them. I felt the hotel was fantastic value for money in a great location in Portland. Will highly recommend it if family or friends need a place to stay.
Nothing- it was perfect!

The staff was amazing. They always said hello and asked how our stay was going, and if we needed anything. They upgraded me for my birthday. We left an expensive hotel for here and I’m so glad we did. The restaurant was the best food we had in our week stay in Portland. They gave me free dessert for my birthday as well.
Nothing with the specific hotel was an issue. The blocks surrounding it felt questionable but that could be because we’re unfamiliar with the area. The construction made entering the parking lot, easy to miss but nothing that would deter us from returning.

The Silver Cloud Hotel was in a great location. There were some great restaurants near the Hotel. Also we went to a great french pastry shoppe close to the hotel too. The staff was helpful too.
We had to move to another room when we first got to the hotel, since someone in another room was smoking. I have asthma and smoking bothers me. The hotel has a no smoking policy. The staff was very accommodating and moved us to the 4th floor where there was no smoking smell. The staff investigated the second floor where someone was smoking. A suggestion I have is: When people get their key card, maybe the hotel can remind them that this is a no-smoking hotel.

Location, young and hip Nob Hill neighborhood is just 10 min walk away. Safe neighborhood. On site parking.
Mildew in the bathroom, carpet floor in the room doesn’t seem well cleaned, didn’t hear vacuum cleaner working when the cleaning staff cleaned the next room and saw dust in the room corners where the floor meets the wall, some leftover dirty dishes were left outside the room across the hall from the night to the next morning 11am, there’s still no one to pick it up. The restaurant downstairs put up a sign which says it is closed until 3pm due to staff shortage which means you have to go out and seek breakfast elsewhere.

Researched long and hard to find a good and safe place in Portland...many places charge $55 for parking and still had break-ins...while SC wasn't the cheapest, the parking is free and appears to be quite secure. Not in the heart of downtown, this is actually an advantage. Did not see any vagrant activity nearby. Area was clean and walkable. Nearby were several intriguing restaurants. Fillmore was a neighborhood delight which had even elder folks enjoying it...unpretentious, yet au courent. SC exceeded expectations with memory foam toppers and aveda products, yummy sheets, pretty heavenly! Urban Steel. I have yet to find a hotel restaurant up to the level of this one, quite surprising! Must try brussel sprouts, unusually delicious. Eggs benedict, which are typically hackneyed, arid, and best avoided, US version is worth the trip: chewy yet crunchy local english muffin, eggs, white and yolk, to perfection, excellent hollandaise with just the right tart of lemon. Even the potatoes which I can usually leave were a treat of crisp, paprika'd, and sweet, tender green and red peppers, and I don't say this lightly. Normally, I eschew benedicts for the hash they can be. This one is a must. Overall, this hotel advances a redemption of Portland.
It is a challenge to find anything to nitpick..perhaps ask for extra sauce for the benedict because it is so good? Half and half for the excellent inroom coffee? Was sad the restaurant had to close early that night due to staffing.

The location was just a short drive from the airport. The neighborhood was so delightfully walkable and charming. The concierge staff was helpful and attentive. One nice touch was the flower planters in the parking lot.
It’s not the hotels fault, but there were sugar ants all over the bathroom. I know it’s ant season but they were on the towels. Also my mom and I are both short and the towel hooks on the bathroom door mounted at the very top and was a high reach for us. We had breakfast at the Urban Steel, and even though the food was fresh and nicely presented, we were expecting more traditional “hash” we didn’t like the Slabtown Hash or the Avocado Toast. We both agreed to go to a different dining experience next time. But the hotel itself was 10 out of 10.

The staff was so nice and welcoming the moment we walked in to the hotel. Our two queen bed room was clean and spacious - had a cute little living room type space with a sofa and table, also had a small refrigerator and microwave. Location was great, far enough from downtown that traffic wasn’t crazy and location felt safe. Offers a nice smaller restaurant downstairs, but also aithin walking distance to other restaurants, coffee and nightlife. Free parking was a definite plus!
Nothing.

Clean, quiet, and comfortable. Staff were helpful, laid back, and always available. Aveda products for the bathroom were a great touch! Also, the late check out at noon worked great for us since we’re catching the afternoon Amtrak train. Excellent location in the charming NW district. Safe area to walk around in. The hotel is within walking distance to the wide variety of shops and restaurants on 23rd. We even walked to the Forest park to check out the amazing nature and trail network. We stayed here on a past trip with a car and it was easy to drive places as well. Transit is very close to the hotel as well. We did try the new on site restaurant for breakfast, it was excellent too.
The carpet in the room (406) needs replacing/ upgrading. It is an old, industrial type.

Room was quiet and comfortable. Bed was comfortable. Great location for my needs and walkable to lots of shops and restaurants and coffee shop. Long walk or short Uber ride to Japanese Garden. Great stay. Friendly staff.
Breakfast was a bit expensive for what you get. Waited quite a while for toast (ONLY toast) in the restaurant one morning, even though i was the ONLY customer in the restaurant at the time, after at least 15 minutes I cancelled my order and left. That was the only bad experience of my entire stay.

The hotel was located really close to the freeway which made for easy access and a view of the bridge. The neighborhood was nice and pretty quiet. When we arrived, we got a free room upgrade. The room was spacious and had a small sink with dinnerware, soap, and a sponge which I thought was very nice! Parking was an ease, their parking garage had lots of space. They had both stair access and elevator access—depending on where you enter it was easy to get to our room or a walk down the hall.
