The Hilltop is a comfortable establishment with a warm and quite homely feel. This is particularly emanated by the staff and management who while not in any way over sentimental or for that matter over chatty, are practical and efficient and convey honesty , straightforward -ness and an all round sense of decency.

The location takes a while to access downtown by public transport albeit this issue shouldn’t be overstated . The bus stop is a 2 to 3 minute walk away and the bus service downtown via the Pittsburgh outer township of Crafton , itself well provided with stores, pharmacies and other amenities, is a reliable one . It’s generally a 20 to 25 minute journey to the heart of the city.

This is the second time I have not gotten my security deposit back yet, I rent this place because it is close to my place of work, I was also there last week and asked about my deposit and was told to call the bank but the bank tells me that there is no deposit from the hotel. I am still waiting for my money back.

I loved the huge free parking space and the friendly, available staff. Ignore the negative reviews. You get a small fridge and microwave in the room. Also clean towels whenever you need them. There were no bugs in our room. There is not an ice machine so we bought a bag of ice and a small cooler. The property was quiet and laidback. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to others. On a future trip back to Pittsburgh, we would definitely stay here again.

Very comfortable bed and pillows, great water pressure and temperature, staff were friendly and down to earth, over all as expected for the price

Water leak in the room that wet my suitcase, mold all over, hole in bathroom door, no breakfast, some outlets don't work, very bad potholes in the parking lot

Bed was nice slept well room had refrigerator and microwave was very quite for the most part not busy the check in lady was very nice and helpful. Thank for making this trip a wonderful experience had a good time.

There was nothing that I really did not like they could paint the ceiling look like there was little mold walls could be painted also but not a bad place to stay for a good night sleep thanks ac need work a little loud

The price was great, we were able to get a smoke room, there was a 100 dollar deposit and no breakfast but the deposit was right back on my card the next morning right after checking out. The beds were actually pretty decent in a motel like this. Thank you guys!

The shower needed some work cause the knob didn't work. We didn't have to use the shower but if we would have then it would've gotten a little complicated.

i was unaware we got a “smoking” room so unfortunately our clothes smelled like smoke from sleeping there and the pillows were pretty flat

Very clean for the price. The staff was nice and helpful. Older building so dont give bad reviews for worn out things. You get what you pay for.
