The location was superb. We were able to enjoy the town square, shops, restaurants, and the Dinosaur Valley State Park. We liked the creativity with breakfast and of course we thoroughly enjoyed the mystery murder dinner fun. Oh! We also walked several times along the river and saw plenty of beauty.

I would recommend that you keep hot water available for tea drinkers and perhaps some light snacks such as fruit, crackers, etc. in the dining area. When we travel with children these special touches sure come in handy!

I absolutely loved our time here at a real B&B. It feels like what they used to be and should be but so hard to find these days. Family friendly staff and hospitality with a beautiful cooked breakfast. The room was comfortable, the loungers by the lake was the perfect spot to relax with a book. It was a peaceful and relaxing getaway from Dallas which is exactly what I wanted. I really hope to visit again someday.

Lovely place and setting. After a long ride we were delighted to find a bar/restaurant on premises. We dine outside by the river, the food was excellent. The bed in the room was comfortable, everything nice and clean and the atmosphere of the inn, the kind helpful owner, Pamela and her wonderful dogs made it for a delightful relaxing stay. We were going to a graduation in Stephenville, Glen Rose is closed by and lovely.

Historic building, old house have always some compromises comparing to modern hotels, but their charm make up for it. It's a choice.

The location was perfect. We wanted to see the dinosaur tracks at the state park and it was a short drive there. The Inn was like staying in someone's home. Very welcoming and comfortable. The Inn had two sweet dogs that greeted us upon our arrival. The owner was friendly and attentive to all our questions. The breakfast was amazing and so was the coffee. Our room was so clean, cool and comfortable. I am so glad we stayed here.

We go to the Inn on the River as often as we can for a quiet getaway from the city. The rooms were clean. The staff is phenomenal, very friendly and extremely accommodating! Being a pet friendly retreat is the cherry on top!

This was a great place for us to stay with our two kids. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the two room queen suite was great. Free plated breakfast each morning (and the staff accommodated is being vegetarian) and within walking distance of the town square and a short drive to the fossil rim wildlife preserve, dinosaur world, and dinosaur valley state park.

Nothing, but be aware that there are no fridges or TVs on the rooms.

Owner’s dogs and cat are allowed on all lobby furniture as well as allowed to sit right next to your table, drooling and staring at you as you eat in the dining area - so you need to not mind pet hair on your clothes and dogs near you while you eat. Dogs also barked loudly when people come inside the lobby or down the stairs. If you’re used to dogs, it’s not too big a deal. Guests were allowed to smoke on the porch area, which meant that on several occasions, I could not enjoy sitting out on the porch unless I was willing to deal with it and return to my room smelling like cigarette smoke. I was under the impression that the entire property was non-smoking as the policy states that there is a fine imposed for smoking on the property.

The owners are so welcoming, and we were treated like family. The breakfast is amazing and fresh, served in a beautiful room that overlooks the river. We loved the outdoor seating by the river. And thank you most of all for helping to keep our dog calm and make her feel welcome.

The owner has restored the Inn to the best status ever! It has been remodeled to a historical status with furnishings, repainted and replaced as needed, and made it a great retreat for family and companies. It's a great place to stay!

Loved the Inn On The River's location, Snyder's Tavern, overall cleanliness, historic character, friendly staff and over the top Sunday morning breakfast of waffles, bacon & eggs! Although facing a rigorous daily schedule - owner/operator in the hospitality sector - Pam and Scott are wonderful host and pride themselves in providing each guest with genuine, down-to-earth hospitality during each stay. Their personal interaction & attention to guests' well being speak volumes and is a major contributing factor to laying a solid foundation for future successes!

For guest spending quality time with family/friends, Inn On The River's hearty breakfast is not only delicious, but also a great way to start their day together! However, in addition to the tradional breakfast, offering optional fresh fruits (seasonal) and/or Greek yogurt will definitely enhance guests' dining experiences while starting a new day!
