From the public areas to the rooms, the whole hotel is gorgeous. The design is simple but elegant and everything is sparkling clean. The pool was beautiful, there were amenities such as guest laundry and an attached restaurant/cafe, and beautiful outdoor spaces with some grass. Parking was directly attached to the building and only $5 for a one night stay. Our 2 Queen Bed room was huge, had stunning windows, a very large tv and a mini fridge. The bathroom was clean and stocked and the beds were comfortable. The property, including the parking garage, is wheelchair friendly. Every staff member we spoke with was helpful and friendly.

Everything about the hotel was 5 stars! The lobby was gorgeous and the location was perfect. Every staff member we encountered was kind and professional. The restaurant was delicious too! And my kids loved the pool!

The pillows were terrible! For such a beautiful hotel I was expecting high quality bedding. All 6 pillows in our room were different and all uniquely atrocious. Some were thick, some thin, none were soft, most were lumpy, a couple were hard. Also the "comforter" was a fleece blanket between 2 sheets. It wasn't a comforter at all and it wasn't soft or comfortable. The pillows need to be trashed and new, good quality ones purchased for all rooms. And it would be nice if the hotel invested in duvets so we had real blankets to sleep under.

nice size room with little kitchenette and salt water pool is hard to come by.

had to pay for parking for no reason, breakfast not included. and everything looks the same in the hallways so gets a bit confusing which way your going in and out. shower had no door so it was cold and made a mess of water outside the shower. Lobby area was kind of rowdy with the resteraunt and bar. room was pretty normal hotel quality so kind of expensive for what it actually is. Late check out not an option.

The room was comfortable and a good size. It was clean and had a good view of campus through the window. The bar in the lobby was wonderful and the staff was friendly. The location of Hotel Madison is excellent.

I would like a couch or lounge chair in the room for casual seating. The room didn't have that and I'm not a good sleeper. So in the middle of the night I used the 2nd bed in the room so as not to disturb my wife. Also, the parking garage was difficult to navigate on Saturday because there were only a few spots available and others parked poorly leaving little room to squeeze into spots.

I am a JMU Alum and this is the BEST Hotel Harrisonburg has ever had!! The hotel offers a Top Notch Staff ,Excellent Room Accommodations, Delicious Food , Great Entertainment, and so much more. I would love to see them extend the hours of their live music, the lobby bar , and food service an hour or longer especially on the weekends! Thank you Hotel Madison ! Customer Service! Always so pleased and happy when I stay at Hotel Madison!

Clean room. Location was in university area and small historic downtown so could walk to dinner. Had restaurant on premises. Had safe parking and could plug in our hybrid for free charge. We went to the national park, so this was a good quality hotel after a day hiking. Some may decide to stay closer to the national park if they don't need the extra amenities. I would return to this hotel, even with the small issues since I know what to expect.

There were small things... I was told I would be charged $50 for incidentals (including parking) when checked in (which I didn't like), but then didn't show up on my credit card (which I liked). I was told this would be deleted from my cc if I didn't use. The breakfast at the restaurant was terrible and this cost $12 per person (not worth it). We had to pay for parking ($5 per day with in and out privileges)--should have been a way to show staying at hotel and can be credited (not terrible, but I was surprised by this... I will have to go back to see if booking mentioned parking charge). No microwave for such a pricey room. Coffee maker didn't work.

Very elegant and nicely apportioned lobby & mezzanine areas. They were fabulous and truly need to be experienced. Although not to the same extent, the room decor had some pizzaz also. A wonderful HVAC system, perfectly performing fridge & plenty of bright lighting made the room a comfy stay. The restaurant fare, ambiance and hard-working staff made eating there a joy, too.

The internet connection was horrible. We tried in vain to connect multiple times in the room, in the lobby, and it just didn’t connect. Worst hotel connection I’ve ever come across. Overall cleanliness lost points due to long black hairs left in a supposedly? clean shower and noticeably lengthy “smears” on the bedroom mirror. Comfort points were lowered because of a total lacking of hooks anywhere, a single wire shower rack that was only productive in allowing toiletries to crash downward, a laundry bag that was MIA, and no soap dish by bathroom sink.

The hotel is beautiful, our view of the downtown from the 7th floor was incredible. Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Having a restaurant “Monty’s” to grab a bite was super convenient and the food was good. I wish I had time to try more of it. The hotel staff was awesome, I would definitely stay there again.

Wish there was a microwave in the room other than that everything was great.

I love the spaciousness of the room. It is clean with beddings and towels that look, feel, and smells fresh! I also loved that the Manager took the efforts to allow me an extended check out when it was initially denied due to the hotel being overbooked. Friendly service is excellent as well! I also loved the lobby where it had a bar that serves good drinks and appetizers - a happy hour rate might be good to consider next time though. I loved that it had a live music show as well. This hotel provided good value for its cost.

The parking charged me double. It was at a discounted rate, but I got a charge on my room bill, plus another charge when we exited the parking.

The room was spacious, appointed nicely and very clean. The bed was comfortable. The hotel lobby areas are lovely and the staff is very helpful. The parking is ok - around the corner in a parking garage. Easy walk back to the hotel through their gardens.

Nothing that the hotel can control - room faced the busy main road and it was move-in weekend for the college so the parties at the frat houses across the street were oud and proud.
