I frequently stay at Virginia Crossing when I have business in Richmond. In my opinion it’s the best hotel for the money. The grounds are immaculate, the staff is A+ and the rooms are perfect. The breakfast buffet is delicious as well as the dinners in The Tavern. Both are just a walk across the beautifully landscaped courtyard. I can’t say enough about Virginia Crossing. I’m looking forward to staying again soon.
There has been a strange sound like an air tank filling up during the night. Also there is periodically a slight shaking of the room like a plane flew over. It’s nothing to keep me from sleeping soundly but I could see it distracting some people from falling asleep. Not sure what it could be but I’ve noticed it the last couple of times staying.

Beautiful hotel and grounds,
We would have liked more options at the breakfast buffet. What they had was very good but we would liked to see choices like pastries or an omlett station.

The room was lovely! Everything was so clean, and was not dated. The facility is unique and interesting to explore. I wish I had more time to use the facility, as my trip was brief. The staff was wonderful! Everyone I interacted with was helpful and friendly. I have already booked a vacation in the spring on my personal time to explore the area more. The site is quite scenic - it was a beautiful place to get away and unwind.
At the point of reservation, if the site map was shared so that it was a little more clear where to go when you enter the facility, that would be very helpful. It is such a large complex of multiple buildings and it was a little difficult to navigate for my first visit.

Being right out of a movie like bridgedton. And having the breakfast and dinner option, on top of room service. Just a vibe in total, literally an escape.
- Heater and A/C clogged and failed to warm the room - Dated TV, with all the subscriptions and YouTube ppl watch now, not being able to connect to it was more of an inconvenience then anything being forced to watch TV Channels that we had to just settle on is upsetting. - Having a single microwave down the Hallway is inconvenient, especially if your first run didn’t completely heat up your meal and you have to run back.

Friendly staff, spacious room with a nicely updated bathroom. The restaurant and bar is a convenient option if you'd like to stay on the hotel grounds, and the food was quite tasty. Love the old school vibes in the building atriums.
The age of the buildings shows through, particularly in the elevators and carpeting. I imagine attending an event here would hide some of that, since convenience would be more important. But as a private getaway, I was hoping for a little more shine given the hotel star rating.

Property and buildings are gorgeous. Room was beautiful and spotless. Other than the heat it was amazing. We will definitely return!
The room was ungodly hot. It was winter, 17 degrees outside but I had to keep going outside for fresh air. We turned off the blower one we finally figured out how and by morning temp was better. We didn't report because it was so late at night. Other than this issue, this place is STUNNING!

Breakfast was good especially the scrambled eggs! Wait staff was courteous and attentive. The grounds were beautiful along with the fall weather.
In my room #247 the phone chargers in the room didn’t work. Called maintenance who came to fix it but after looking at saw that it was part of the furniture and that the entire piece of furniture would need to be replaced. Also the lamp had to be replaced for the same reason. Additionally, the liner to the curtain was also ripped and needs replacing.

Everyone I interacted with was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I've been traveling for three months, mostly staying in AirBnBs, and it was so fun to have a full service hotel where people actively took care of me and my two dogs. They specifically put you on the bottom floor so it's easy to get in and out, there is dedicated green space outside, and it's a lovely property to walk around. My bed was really comfortable, the desk chair made it easy to get my work done, the breakfast buffet was first rate, and The Tavern restaurant was a great place to end the day.
Nothing, it was a great stay. I read some other reviews about the staff and cleanliness, and that was not my experience at all.

The campus is beautiful. The staff are very helpful. The room was very clean.
On-site add-ons are expensive. $17 breakfast, $25-$30 dinner entrees and the $75 pet fee is not fully disclosed up front. They only say "pet fees may apply." To ask 50% of the room fee for a well-behaved ten pound dog should be made clear as a bell up front.

The room was clean. I loved the onsite restaurant, bar and happy hour. I didn't see any bugs! It was pet friendly with a lot of land to walk your fur babies.
I didn't like the room smell. It was a pet room and should've had laminate or hard wood floors. The carpet held a musky smell. The rooms didn't have enough light. The lighting was very dim except in the bathroom. I didn't like the side doors wouldn't open with a badge. We had to walk all the way around to the front every time we had to go out. The pool was dirty.
