very nice ambiance, nice location, nice outsice rooftop bar, nice breakfast

very lousy coffee I asked for a checkout 1,5 hours later at 13.30 hours, they only wanted to give me a free extra time of 1 hour and charged me half a day for the additional 30 minutes !!!!! The hotel was not full at all, it could have been given easily without a problem. I stayed in the Rex many times before, I serious doubt whether to book again the next time

Location is pretty good especially for tourist sights. For local food you have to walk a few streets out though. Nice pool and towels. Buffet breakfast was great- really good Vietnamese food. Rooms are large.

The hotel is getting a little aged- which isn’t an issue but you are still paying top dollar as if it’s a 5 star. The layout of the hotel is a little spread out, split levels, lots of hallways and stairs. Hotel restaurants and bar very expensive and don’t include service tax and VAT (which a lot of places in that area of town don’t).

The central location, rooms with balcony have good view and are airy, great management and helpful staff! We stayed in the hotel for over a month and had great experience. The manager was very nice and professional. We had family member got sick during the stay and the hotel provided customised meals which were very helpful. We truly appreciate your great services!

There was an incident when my family first received the room and it smelled damp but the manager took on the feedback straight away and organised another room for us. Just something to note for renovation opportunity.

A classic old expansive hotel . Nice pool and superb gym. Breakfasts focused on local cuisine which takes acclimatising to but wonderful staff throughout. Music & dancing oin evenings was a giggle but price of drinks significantly higher than local options but would return to this hotel and indeed this crazy City

Limited choice on breakfasts for Western tastes. Excursions booked through hotel twice price of local tour operator's. Significant walking distances around hotel as it is massive so would not suit everybody with ailments.

Location was exceptional, right on the square and easy walking distance to most sights in District 1 that first-time visitors would wish to see. We had newer rooms in the modern wing that were clean and comfortable. Service was efficient and professional throughout the hotel. The historic rooftop bar was very pleasant, if expensive, but a good place for a nightcap with a view.

It’s a huge government-run property that’s often used for conferences and meetings, so it may not be for everyone. The breakfast buffet was limited compared to other hotels in this price range and the food and drinks at the rooftop bar were expensive.

Excellent location, the main entrance door is directly opposite the Ho Chi Min Statue. The hotel centrally located - the red Hop On/Off bus is within 100m walking distance from the hotel Breakfast is buffet style and caters to Western and Asian cuisine - the bar is located on the 5th floor and offers great views of the main, vibrant, parade area. the room met all expectations of a 5 star hotel. The staff were very pleasant and very helpful at all times

the Wifi was very slow and we kept losing network, apart from that, everything else was OK

The best thing about this hotel is the location. easy access to everything. Staff was good in general. We stayed in the newer wing of the hotel so the rooms were nice. The room/suite was very spacious (compared to other hotels in Saigon)

The interior of the hotel is very old (not charmingly old.. just old and dated). If you have a room that faces inward, it’s a very prison like view). Some major renovations needed. There were wedding receptions or parties at the hotel on some days we stayed there and the karaoke from the party could be heard loudly in the hotel lobby.

Phuong (the sales Manager) allowed smoking in the spa area which is a non smoking area. When asked about this, she laughed in my face and then told me that the other person accidentally smoked. I have no idea how a cigarette accidentally jumps from the cigarette box into the persons mouth. The automated lighting / plugs is a total joke. You can’t put these lights / plugs on properly. They seem to be on a timer so they go on and off when they like: so in the middle of the night they went in. And u can’t use the sockets to charge your devices since when the plugs are off, they don’t work. Rather stick to basic lighting system.

Biggest and best breakfast spread during our time in Vietnam. Great location, with big and comfortable room. Gym and pool both good quality. Drinks voucher given on arrival to use at the lovely roof bar and live music was great

More corporate feeling than other places we stayed in Vietnam, maybe because of the size or the city. But staff were a bit more cold. Asked for a airport transfer and was quoted 10x taxi price, when I questioned this at desk, manager said I was quoted for a limo, but still felt wrong.

My room is very roomy, quiet and comfortable. I have the street view and it's not that noisy. The rooftop dining area is very nice and the nightly music and singing is wonderful, the singers and musicians did a great performance. Breakfast is very good and the food is delicious.

I got lost few times going to my room. We need either more directions and a map to get to the correct wing of the complex. We end up in different wing and could not get out. The West Wing is nice and new, the other side is older.
