Small room

The staff was very friendly and was easy to work with. The room was very clean and it was quiet at night which made it easy to sleep.The view of Quebec City at night was beautiful.The location of the hotel in relation to Quebec City was very good.

The room that I reserved through “booking.com” was not the room that I stayed in. The room that I reserved stated that there was a queen size bed in the room, showed a large room and showed a large bathroom with two sinks. The room that I was given had a smaller bed, (a double, not a queen size bed) a smaller room overall and a much smaller bathroom. There wasn’t a lot of room to maneuver in the bathroom.

History, location, views.

The room was very cramped with limited storage space. Most (not all) Bistro and bar staff were not very attentive or friendly. They seemed to be rushed and want to get people seated, get orders and get them out as soon as possible. Far too many people at the Bistro reception taking bookings and showing people to seats. Perhaps move some of these people into serving where the attention/support is needed. Some Bistro reception and serving staff were quite rude.

As we drove into the parking area, the bellmen were ready to get our luggage from the car, take it to our room, and park the car. On check in, the reservationist was kind and welcoming. The room was quiet, and we enjoyed being in the old town area.

First, please provide several options for pillows from soft to hard. The reservationist became deceitful in my opinion when it came to our getting a room. First he stated there were no rooms available on the level we had paid, but he would upgrade our room without our having to pay more with a nicer view than the original room view. Why did I not have a room already reserved? I would hate to see the original room’s view based on the upgraded room view. From one of the beds there was no view to be seen. From the other bed, roof tops were seen. Peering from the window close by would allow a patio area to partially be seen along with some homes.

Beautiful side view of St. Lawrence, quiet and lovely. Room was large, bathroom was lovely, mattress comfortable, lighting homey.

No sign was available notifying guests that the bottled water and half bottle of wine on the dresser were NOT gratis, and we were charged $12 for the water. This is our fourth Fairmont hotel stay, and all others provided 1 free bottle of water and wine. Fairmont Frontenac needs to leave a sign at the caddy holding the water & wine to this effect.

Booking.con was awful and increased our agreed rate by almost 3 fold. We cannot afford such an outrageous increase and have tried to dispute this charge more than once. Booking.com did not respond, Tina, said she would calla back and did not. I am requesting the booking.com credit the outrageous sum charged and re-bill at the previously agreed upon rate of $298/night. We are so very disappointed with booking.com and their competitor always charges the rate agreed upon and never inflates it on the back end to ruin a vacation. Please review and reverse the charges. My travel companions are upset with me but booking.com is to blame.

Charge the price that was originally agreed upon and not inflate the price astronomically so that we cannot afford it. I did not see an email with the increased price or I surely would have canceled and found a more reasonably priced hotel.

A very well-located and historic hotel. The staff is very attentive, and the check-in and check-out process is extremely easy. An excellent breakfast, as well as outstanding service at the restaurant. If you have the chance, the bar is also a great highlight. Drinks and service of the highest quality. Of course, all at a price...

The first time we stayed at the hotel, we were in a traditional room with two double beds for four people (me, my wife, and my two children, aged 17 and 12), and we found it very cramped. This time, we chose a larger 51m² room, and it worked perfectly.

Love the property's history, location, room and restaurants. The only thing I didn't care for was the pool area (way overcrowded with screaming kids) and the lockers for the Spa were not separate from the pool crowds which made it uncomfortable. The food at the restaurants was incredible and the service, including room service was top notch.

Pool area and lack of separate locker area for people going to the spa was a dissapointment. Also, the man's locker room only had a dry sauna and the steam room was only available at the ladies locker room. The men's spa was part of the pool area which was overcrowded and full of screaming kids.

Location was perfect as it’s right in the centre of Quebec City, so easy to walk around. Views over the river and city are great too. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Pool area was nice and not too busy. Room was lovely and bed was comfortable. Bathroom was big and shower good. It has onsite parking (although it’s expensive, but then this is a 5 star hotel).

Our room was near some sort of generator, so there was a constant noise from that all night and it was pretty noisy even with the windows closed.

Beautiful hotel. Comfy bed. Large room with city view. Breakfast and room service were great. Very clean and nicely decorated. Free tickets to the ice slide on the terrace. Helpful staff.

I would have expected freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast. Small bathroom was only large enough for 1 person at a time. The only hook in the bathroom was over the toilet so your clean towels & housecoats were basically sitting on the toilet tank - not very hygienic. I know i'm being picky but for the rate I would expect more care in the details.
