Across the board, Palace Hotel & Spa exceeded all expectations. I was traveling alone from the United States. The staff was able to speak and understand English. I felt safe and welcomed. The hotel was immaculately kept clean. My room felt cozy as if I was at home. The complimentary breakfast served each morning offered a variety of foods to satisfy all tastes. The beach was clean and beautiful. The location of the hotel was within walking distance for all needs. I can hardly wait to visit Albania again next year with my son. My stay will most certainly be with Palace Hotel & Spa!

The location was really centric and easy to access from the city center. 3 kms only from the main bus terminal. The indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi were good. The spa center comes with a lot of facilities. The room was good in size, with a sofa and a double bed. You get a boiler, hair dryer, table, chairs,Tv, etc. You wont find any things missing there. The breakfast was good with a lot of options to choose from. You can get to Durres by public transport also from here, there is a nearby bus stop. Lot of popular restaurants nearby where you can enjoy delicious seafood for dinner.

The bathroom has no lock available. Not every room has a balcony. The private beach is kind of a misleading one. It is indeed decorated as private one, but it was available to everyone. Also the beach doesn't have any sand there. Instead m, they constructed a platform on top of the beach and provided stairs to get into the sea. And the floor of the sea was filled with pebbles, which could be painful if you misfoot on one of them. This was a major drawback to me.

Our stay here was really nice! The bed was huge and we had great airconditioning (which was super necessary). Alongside this, the pool was so nice and it was great having the sea so close that you can decide daily what you want to do! Service on the beach was good too when you give tips and the beds / parasols were so great! We really loved our stay here, especially the restaurant and food in the evenings and the staff for dinner, they were so kind. They served the best pasta and other delicious foods for a good price.

We did have some ants in our room, but the cleaner usually got rid of these when they came. We also requested a taxi months in advance and were picked up from the airport luckily, but even after letting them know what time our flight was going back, there was no taxi ready when we got up very early to go back to the airport. Eventually they did get a local taxi to drive us up, but he couldn't speak English so that was a bit uncomfortable. Besides this our stay was very nice tho!

Cleanliness, comfortable large beds, size of room (Junior Suite), breakfast, restaurant food 2 TVs

Awful smell in bathroom of junior suite Nespresso machine has no capsules with it, you have to buy them from the mini bar, which is ridiculous. No milk provided No tea (except fruit teas) provided No spoons to stir drinks Nespresso machine didn’t work fixed It myself. Staff listen and promise service to put things right but it doesn’t happen. Not one problem was solved by hotel staff. TVs didn’t work properly and no channels for English speakers One TV would not work with Netflix, needed updating. When ordering a taxi from reception they use their own and the cost will be 1000 more Lek, street taxis are cheaper.

The hotel is located on the beach side of Durres, together with many others. It is however, a much more interesting and beautiful building, modern and stylish, and therefore outstanding along this beach. Nice, in walking distance (opposite the port) to visit the old town from Durres. Nice breakfast (there could be more choices during the week), we got a upgrade without extra cost and enjoyed a room with direct beach view. Nice staff, beach was cleaned daily, the water quality was ok

Air condition in the fitness room was not sufficiently working, almost too hot for doing exercises.

A smart and professionally run hotel. We stayed in a junior suite, which was great, and couldn't ask for anything more. We had breakfast and again, couldn't ask for anything more. The staff were attentive and helpful but not intrusive. The sunbeds on the beach were excellent with great bar service, and the beds were well spaced. The pool and it's surroundings were very pleasant

The approach to our suite was a little strange as it was in a block that was separate from the main hotel. In this block are private apartments, and the stairwell past these apartments appears not to be as well maintained and the lift system was a little odd which when first going to the suite is a little disappointing but once in the suite, it was a lovely surprise to see such a modern and well appointed room. After the first walk through, we weren't concerned about it.

The breakfast was amazing. There is so much choice, sadly alot of it I couldn't eat because I'm gluten intolerant, however the girls very kindly arranged for the cook to make me gluten free crepes & petulla. Which was really kind. The girls are really hardworking. The room (I had deluxe double room with balcony & sea view) was super luxurious & lovely, bed was very comfortable & was cleaned brilliantly. I had the sweetest, loveliest housekeeper Rita, she is a real credit to the hotel & an extremely hardworking but cheerful lady. The whole hotel is kept really clean. You get complimentary water every day in your room, really nice touch. The Spa is amazing...I highly recommend Therapeutic massages by Engji. The restaurant staff were lovely too & really friendly

I didn't like that when asking for a taxi the reception would use their private taxi, which was quite a bit more expensive than other taxis!

Breakfast was served on the roof top restaurant area and enjoyed good views. There was a good choice on offer .. it is also served until 10.30. The hotel can arrange one of their own taxis for you on request - which is useful for airport pick ups. We had a standard double room and it was clean and comfortable. We did not use the spa but it was nice to know it was there. The pool is a fair size and there are lots of sun beds on the hotel’s stretch of sandy beach, with a waiter service. We ate in the hotel one evening and the menu had a wide choice of dishes. The poolside bar is popular.

The steps down into the sea from the beach are not in great condition. We took swimming shoes and they helped with the steps and a few meters of slippery pebbles under the water before getting to the sand. Durres beach is not awash with 4 and 5 star hotels. It is very much a mixed bag of places to eat and stay in a less prosperous part of Southern Europe. As long as you expect this, you will not be disappointed! Durres town is at least a 45 min walk from the beach area past the commercial ferry docks. We didn’t mind the flat walk in the heat but some may need a taxi.

We booked standard double room. Room was very good. Pool and location in general was perfect. But one important downside, front of hotel the sea was dirty. We noticed later that if you walk to north side sea is more clear. But in general compared to rest of Albania keep in mind that sea in Durres is not beautiful. Plus we couldnt use the spa since there was a technical issue during the 3 days that we stayed there. So considering the price and location+facility price was expensivve.

The hotel itself is lovely, staff are good, room very well equipped and comfortable. Easy walk to lots of places to eat and supermarkets

Most of the hot items in the food warmer at breakfast were cold to lukewarm apart from the scrambled eggs - we did mention this to the staff but it didn't improve. The gym doesn't open until 9am, so too late to go before breakfast. No sun loungers around the pool - it's surrounded by tables for people eating and drinking and smoking. It's not a pretty beach at all and you mainly have a view of the port and construction, but we did know that and chose the location as it's close to the airport.
