Check in was simple. My room was cleaned promptly, and usually to a high standard. Towels were changed when I wanted them to be, plus additional times. The laundry was handy (once I found out about it). The location was great and the free bus was such a great idea - I used it nearly every day.

The food on offer was only of moderate standard. The meats were overcooked and dry/tough. The menu had some interesting things, but for an Italian type menu not enterprising. I felt the breakfast was over-priced. I did eat breakfast at the hotel nearly every day; I did not have lunch there; I ate the evening meal probably half to two-thirds of the time.

The staff we very friendly and welcoming. We had the family room and it was very spacious with a separate lounge/ living area and the kids had a separate room to the adults which was great. The bathroom had a bath which would be good for families with younger children. Our room also had a large balcony with city and park views. Buffet breakfast had a nice variety with the barista coffee included in the price.

The carpark was awful! Support poles everywhere right in the middle of where you would expect to drive. So much damage on the poles where people had hit them with their cars! We were lucky we went in our small car and my partner could get out and help guide me around the poles to get into a parking spot. It was like the car park was an after thought. The Beds were a bit uncomfortable and the mattresses need replacing. There was a little bit of mould in the shower.

Didn’t have any too expensive.

Asking Pensioners, like me, but generally speaking- to pay for parking after all the costs associated with driving from the Coast, tolls, fuel, & in the end, the cost of the stay- it gets ridiculous to expect guests to pay for the privilege as well. PARKING SHOULD BE FREE

Good sized room (superior double) and large balcony. Clean with good quality bedding and towels. Very nice breakfast buffet with plenty of options and a barista coffee included. Great location with easy walking distance to the bus terminal and Roma St station.

The beds were only double size (140cm) which didn't bother us as we travelled with a child, but it's worth noting as it said the room type could accommodate 4 adults. We personally would find the beds too narrow for 2 adults each. The airconditioning unit was quite loud, even on the lowest setting, and also didn't seem to do much for the humidity in the room. We stayed at this hotel 7 years ago and nothing much had changed in the room since then so it feels a bit dated, but the communal areas had been renovated.

I stayed for a work conference held at the Sofitel Brisbane Central, which were charging twice the price for a room. The Mercure was perfect - a short 10 minute stroll to the Sofitel, as well as Queen Street Mall being in walking distance. The room was spacious, the bed was huge and comfortable, the restaurant downstairs was an added bonus & you can order in to your room. The restaurant downstairs also doubled as a cafè in the morning, and has great coffee which was super handy to grab before my walk each morning.

My only negative is the construction next door. I unfortunately got a room with the balcony facing the construction site. Thankfully I was there for work so I was up early both mornings, but I wouldn't recommend staying here on a weekend when you want a sleep in until the construction is finished.

Great facilities, comfortable beds, most staff were impeccable. The pool deck was a lovely, sheltered, sunny spot to sit in the morning. Additionally the pool was a perfect temperature for a winter swim. The location of this hotel is ideal if you like to be near the city yet not in it, within a stone's throw of parklands, and able to walk to many of Brisbane's attractions. The lobby seating options and restaurant ambience were very nice.

1. We asked to cancel our breakfast for two of the three nights and were told that was fine and that the cost would be deducted at the end of the stay. At checkout a different staff member told me it was not possible to cancel breakfast because we had booked through booking.com. If the first staff member had told me this we would not have eaten breakfast elsewhere while still paying for it at the hotel. 2. The car park was very tight which made manoeuvring difficult, however, to the hotel's credit they do acknowledge this in a sign outside the entrance. 3. There was building work outside our room which meant we couldn’t open the verandah door without a lot of noise. With the door closed the air con fan was quite noisy.

Great upto date modern rooms that were very clean! Great views and great options to dine in or have room service

The blonde receptionist with the accent, im not one to comment or leave a bad review but I wish I had gotten her name. She needs an attitude check quick smart the way she spoke to my partner let alone myself was on the same level comparable to a child. Spoken to with utter disrespect with little regard for the customers... I'm not the only one who had an issue with this (girl) the couple infront of us was spoken to the same and they both walked off commenting about how disgusting her attitude is and was

Thoroughly enjoyed the pool as the weather was extremely humid. Loved the Osteria Roma restaurant the night we were there we enjoyed yummy food.great staff nice atmosphere. Buffet breakfast good value @$22(if pre booked)$29 if not. Close to Roma Street Station, you could walk or taxi very prompt booked by hotel staff. All the staff we encounted were friendly & professional happy to recommend this hotel

The glass on the shower/bath leaked water on the floor.not sure how this could be rectified as it was the design.

Excellent customer service, clean rooms, fast wifi, the pool area is lovely.

The only thing I could think of was the fact that the restaurant is closed from 10am-12pm which should be peak coffee and brunch time for those checking out - I would recommend having a barista to make coffees for guests and locals. I went down to get coffee at 10:15 and it was closed and a taxi driver and another couple all came to do the same thing. Just a bit of a shame.

Door onto patio would take a strong person to open. It has obviously been in "disrepair" or usage for some time as shardes of metal in door track. I reported this and was moved. The receptionist came back up to the room with me and agreed it took some opening and closing. So she would "log it" for repair. Interestingly enough it would appear my original room was re used i hope it was a strong man !
