Location is perfect and in general the hostel is good. They have everything u need in the kitchen.

Booked the hostel because the coworking room should be included as a facility, but found it did cost 10$ to sit there between 7am-5pm. The dorm room was really cold and the plastic madrases make a lot of sounds. Cleaning in the bathroom could be a bit better, it was schampoo bottles etc on the floor that seemed to have been there for ages. Also the whole room woke up at 4 am one day because one of the staff randomly and really drunk went in to our room, slept in someone else bed and peed on the floor. Heard that guy got fired the day after, but could be cool with a discount or something, but no one even said sorry for what happened.

Selina´s location in close proximity to Roma St train station is unbeatable, nice and central. Selina is a cozy hostel which feels more like a hotel due to it´s lack of shared spaces. It´s very neat and clean, rooms are very comfy and quiet, which makes for a very restful stay. All in all a great place to stay for a couple of nights.

The communal kitchen is tiny, for way to many people and opens only at 8 am, which is more than inconvenient. It´s extremely overpriced with $72 for a bed in a dorm. There is cheaper options, but I really feel the price is way out of line even for Brisbane. Especially considering that the room I slept in smelled like a puma cage and you aren´t even able to open the window. Also I feel you should at least be given a clean towel at that price.

Very well located, friendly staff, comfortable beds with a little privacy, coworking space

The wall sockets in the beds don't have Australian plugs, the coworking space is used too often as a general social space, and other spaces are underutilized. Why not have a social space and a quiet space? On multiple occasions I saw people who were working have to leave the coworking space because it was too loud. Also, it gets cold in the dorms with the air conditioning on, but they don't provide blankets. I asked at the desk several times for a blanket and they said they'd give me one but didn't. Just had to deal with being cold for a few nights.

Free exercise classes in the mornings. Clean comfy rooms. Decent kitchen.

No communal lounge space so difficult to meet people. Bunkbed design was interesting - the lockers are located above your feet which makes it a little claustrophobic and difficult to climb into bed. A lockable private bathroom shared between 6 people meant I was waiting to use the bathroom and the only shared bathroom was on the ground floor. It would be better to have a lock on the toilet and shower only, so guests can still use the general bathroom space / sink when at the same time.

location, bed was comfy, shower was good

Bathroom door couldn’t be shut from outside. only had a handle and public toilet stall type lock on the door. so door had to stay open. $360 a night was ridiculous. Check in took a good 10 to 15 mins. need to stream line this and make it easier for both staff and guests.

The location is great, right in front of the Roma station. I was in the women’s dorm, a room with 4 bunk beds. I felt safe throughout my time there. I particularly liked the style of the bunk beds - which allowed you to have total privacy. And a lockable (byo small pad lock) shelf within the bunkbed space that could fit a cabin size luggage. However no other storage lockers were available in the room from what I could see. I had a late flight and arrived after reception hours and Riccardo came to my rescue promptly which I was extremely grateful for.

Thankfully I didn’t need it for this trip as I was travelling light, but perhaps another locker space for bigger luggage may be good.

The greyhound bus stop and train station is super close by, maybe a 10-15 minute walk to this hostel down main streets. It is easy to find and a great place to stay. The reception staff were friendly and there was a secure place to store luggage in the office behind reception. Check in was a little chaotic and late but I think it was a learning curve with new staff so I can't hold that against them. Once checked in the room is spacious with good quality and sturdy in-built bunk beds with easy to climb ladders. The room had a bathroom attached which was convenient. There are lots of extra curricular activities put on such as film nights etc to keep you entertained throughout the week and there is a lovely bar attached in the same building where you can chill and have great food and drinks. Wifi from memory was good but I didn't use that much or try to work from here. Overall, would recommend!

The only way to access the rooms or any of the floors were by lift and they were exceedingly slow. I don't know whether it was just that day but having that as the only option - and the emergency exit stairs as only opening onto the ground floor - felt frustrating at times. The bathroom in the bedroom had 2 showers and a toilet with its own door within the same room. However, the only lock was on the main door so when you used the shower or toilet you had to lock the whole thing which makes the 2 showers being there illogical unless a few of us are going in there at once and getting friendly. That setup would benefit from some more thought so the toilet and showers can be used simultaneously by different people.

Bed is super comfortable with curtains for privacy. Room is air-conditioned. Housekeeping happens when someone in your room checked out so the bathroom is clean. Shampoo and body wash provided. You can also borrow a hair dryer from the reception. All the other ladies in my room were quiet and considerate so I was really lucky. Definitely recommend paying extra to stay in a female dorm.

During my stay only one elevator is working, it takes forever to wait as there are so many other guests. Wifi broke down on my last day. Kitchen is really warm even with the fan turned on as there is no window. But they do clean the kitchen every night which is a good thing.

Each bunk bed had curtains in order to have a bit more privacy. Moreover there was a cupboard for storing stuff and a socket (always useful!).

There was only one bathroom inside of the bedroom. And, since the bedroom was a 10 bed dorm, one bathroom, you can get it, is not enough for so many people in there. This type of solution (useful, since you don't have to walk outside the room in the middle of the night) can work if there are toilets in the aisles too, that can be used as buffer one. Otherwise it can get too complicated.
