Just about all of O'Reilly's units have great views over the valleys and mountains to the west and the sunset was spectacular. The rainforest walks are some of the best we have experienced and if you're a keen bushwalker there are some long walks. The afternoon welcome session with drinks and resort info was a nice touch.

Being in a remote location, transport of goods and supplies for the resort can't be cheap, so pricing for food and drinks is reflected in what's on offer. Not really a criticism, but simply a fact visitors should be prepared for.

The property was amazing around the guesthouse and well maintained. Views incredible, rooms big and comfy and staff friendly. Love how the birds on the walks are used to voices and so many you can see.

Rooms a bit too dark. Difficult to read. Sad to see the gardens on the walk not so well maintained anymore. Please sign post the way to the Spa better. The walking path down doesn’t show how steep or how long to get there. We got lost. Not suitable for older people and couldn’t find the building entrance when we did get there. Was very late for my appointment. More signs please!

The buffet breakfast is one of the best I’ve had so it’s worth booking with the accommodation. Dinner was exceptional. The food at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat is high quality. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The flying fox is fun to do even though it was pouring rain. Some hikes were also doable in the inclement weather we faced. Just bring a raincoat and good waterproof shoes. The Moran Falls were flowing freely with all the rain. True rainforest conditions.

The accommodation could do with a make over. The back deck door was really hard to slide. And sad to say, the pillow cases and towels smelled musty due to wet weather.

O'Reilly's allows for an accessible rainforest experience where you can see numerous bird species from boardwalks and forest trails. The studio that we booked was very comfortable and we either ate in the bar or Mountain Cafe which offered stunning views. All the staff were knowledgeable, helpful, happy and attentive. It's also great that the O'Reilly's are running it rather than a corporate body.

The only criticism is that the group tours were too large. In my experience 18 to 20 mitigates seeing wildlife, whereas 6 to 8 is about the optimum. Nevertheless we found our own birds.

Beautiful natural surroundings. Villa was spacious and had a large spa bath outside. 2 rooms which meant our toddler could continue to sleep in her own room. Basic cooking crockery and kitchenware supplied. We liked the artificial fireplace. Nook in the corner was perfect to change baby. Lots of extra blankets and towels supplied. Villa was clean. Family friendly shows and walks available.

The couch was a 2 seater and kept sliding apart when we tried to lie on in it. Food in restaurant was very basic and not very well prepared.

The room was great, private and overlooking the range with a fabulaous view at sunset. The room has it's own little deck to sit on and is spacious enough inside to sit in and enjoy the view too. We normally stay in a Villa, so this was a new experience for us. We just loved the cosy room - there was no TV but that is part of the experience. We took a little speaker and played some music while we watched the sunset before heading to the Restaurant / Bar. Great food and fantastic atmosphere. We also enjoyed lunch in the cafe/restaurant and the coffee was great along with the food and the service.

At night, there is a safety light that stay's on (understandably) the curtains are blockout but it was still coming through the gaps at the top and sides. This made it a little difficult to get to sleep but even tough there are other rooms around you, it was incredibly quiet - a great experience and highly recommend.

This is a stunning place to visit - 35k from the nearest town and up a very windy precipitous road - not for the faint-hearted!! The staff were generally friendly and helpful, and the guides were knowledgeable and enthusiastic and VERY sharp eyed (I will never forget the banded snake, the huntsman spider leaf iguana and trap for spiders... absolutely fascinating. And for calmer moments, the infinity pool was sublime. However - not a one night stay!!

Not being able to stay longer... Points to ponder - the only place to eat at night is the restaurant: whilst serving excellent (and gf option) food is A$ 100 for three courses + wine is not an insignificant amount, but you are a captive audience as the cafe (with a more economical menu) closes at 4pm. Everything else was perfect, especially out rosetta wake-up call every .morning

Room: Spacious, clean, different furniture and decoration. (fitting to the retreat) Breakfast: Very good. Dinner: One night at the Restaurant and one night at the bar. Both very good. The staff in the restaurant were very helpful on the whole. Bird Walk: Very interesting though sometimes couldn't hear what was being said by the guide. Watched the movie about the animals and birds. Also, very interesting about Bernard O'Reilly and the Stinson and learning about how life was at the time.

I felt the rooms needed an up-grade with some things. I noticed many weeds in and around the retreat and feel that maybe they should be controlled before they escape back into the rainforest.

Sunset drinks with a casual meal of pizza in the Rainforest Bar upstairs was ideal one night. Dinner service in the restaurant was well timed with drinks for table of 6 and a varied selection of choices including soup, seafood, steak and comfort meals.

The weather....couldn't get out on the trails due to rain but plenty of nature and birdlife around retreat or relaxing / reading in the library or guest room, afternoon tea in restaurant at 3.30pm everyday or cafe for souvenirs and casual meals during the day.

Staff were so friendly and helpful. Nina was so helpful. Bird walks and tracks fabulous. Enjoyed both bird/animal talks. Very informative and fun. Loved meeting the possum in the bar! Swimming pool at conference centre was amazing. Room was spotless and bed and pillows so comfortable.

Very disappointed not to see a Regent Bowerbird. When we visited 22 years ago there were so many. Too much development??Disappointed that plunge pools and jacuzzi were out of order the whole time I was there, particularly as it was so hot. Wanted some vegetables so ordered mash and veg with steak. Steak was delicious but the carrots and broccoli had hardly seen a pan of boiling water. 😕
