Very beautiful

I booked for 2 but was travelling solo -when my grandson came to stay I had to pay extra for a trundle bed as there was only one bed in the room-considering the cost of the stay I feel it shouldnt have cost extra

it is complete opulence. Beautifully decorated and a truly exceptional experience. Vanitas Restaurant is a fantastic culinary experience. Rooms are beautiful and staff are very attentive.

In the general restaurant we waited 20min for drinks and 45min for food at lunch with only 4 other tables occupied. That was unacceptable. There are other guests who clearly have money but have no style, modesty nor manners.

I did not like the fact that there were no Movies on Demand accessible on our TV. This was somewhat fixed by the technician on the 2nd night; on the first night there was only one TV series available and NO Movies. Disappointing.

Well trained staff. Comfortable bed, pillows O.K. great towels. Good shower. Spacious room but much of space wasted between bathroom and bedroom. Quiet room as requested after upgrade. Good T.V. great range of channels

Doona on bed too heavy and too hot. Lighting in bathroom poor especially over mirror. Breakfast buffet adequate, most basics covered. Seafood buffet a disappointment. No WOW factor. Overpriced. Lack of variety especially fish. Should be in a refrigerated display cabinet as some items such as oysters, scallops, bugs, etc. need to be always chilled for taste. Refrigerated cabinet could also be used for breakfast cold dishes, salmon, etc. Hot items as part of buffet including vegetables, apart from roast beef, not great. Salads poor. Apart from cakes and pastries would rate the rest 6/10. On this rating too expensive. Drinks too expensive. Printing on compendium and key card sleeve, etc. too faint. need a darker print

The facilities and location are fabulous and well positioned.

We were disgusted to be in a studio room with blood on sheets and pillows, and the balcony had not been cleaned, and a cigarette butt was found there as well. Main bedroom shower was leaking

The lobby is still beautiful but it’s loosing the real Versace feel throughout the rest of the hotel - towels at the pool and rooms are not of the same quality any more

showing its age a little in the corridors and some of the rooms and amenities . Restaurant staff at night a bit questionable with manners and sincerity.

the Broadwater suites on the water are well away from any street or hotel noise- quite and peaceful. Vanitas restaurant is sublime if you like Italian food done really well.

the hotel needs some tlc in a few spots where a renovation would not go astray-

The location was great! Avantis restaurant was nice and a good experience. Buffet breakfast was good Comfy bed

Over priced for a run down building, it is very shabby around the edges, could do with a complete re paint and jet blast to the outside. The more you walk around the more you notice how run down it is. Also given the 5 star property and price we paid the service wasn’t great, we didn’t have help with our bags I had to ask, I stay in lots of hotels all around the world and service here isn’t that of a 5 star property! I know this is changing hands soon with a new buyer but it’s like they’ve given up on looking after the guests that are still spending their money here.

Hotel remains stylish and elegant post the name change from Palazzo Versace to Imperial Hotel. Lots of gorgeous luxe features and Insta-worthy decor well worth a visit. Pool area is expansive and impressive. Staff were friendly and welcoming and willing to oblige requests for more pillows, extension leads etc.

Check-in/out is very slow and cumbersome. The aim is to give a memorable and elegant experience however it all happens very slowly. Guests are treated to a gorgeous chocolate and drink and an area to sit to check-in however it takes a long time and there is no key drop facility for guests who need to depart quickly. Minor inconvenience but worth noting if you're on a deadline. While the hotel isn't noisy we were situated in a room immediately under what must have been a family of baby elephants so soundproofing between floors saw us listen to jumping and trampling at bedtime. Beds might be due for an upgrade both in size and quality. We stepped up our rate for a bigger room but still only had two double beds which was very cosy for a family of four sharing facilities.
