Location is excellent. Can walk to Castle Hill, restaurants, the Strand, Cowboys stadium. Room was very clean. I like the shower soap dispensers. Showers have good water pressure. Extra pillows are in the closet. The room has a small fridge which is handy.

Always quite a wait to check in. Front desk staff are not overly friendly. No hand towels, just a bath mat, bath towel and face cloth. Extra bath towels would be awesome, however housekeeping was outside and gladly gave an extra towel. The cold tap kept falling off the shower wall. Need more power points or USB points for charging. The only power points are hidden behind side tables and beds and are not easily accessible.

Staff were friendly. Rooms were a good size. Beds were comfortable. Air conditioning was cold. Love the separate shower and toilet.

The parking situation. Need to be able to watch were you parking and on a Sunday there are markets so can't park in certain areas as it gets blocked off. If you arrive after 4pm on a Friday then the parking around the motel is free for the weekend. The motel now has a parking area behind the Police Station but it is a bit of a walk.

The Hotel was very central to our needs and not far from the Magnetic Island ferry. It was a pity I guess by economics that there was no eating facility on the premises. The location allowed myself to review my early work days in Flinders Street finding many of the old buildings still maintained including a Bank where I first worked in 1964 just across the road.

Good location in the centre of the CBD. Woolworths supermarket a few doors away. Cafes, restaurants, and Cowboys Leagues club within a few minutes walk. Large room.

Room needed some general maintenance on some walls, and skirting boards.

I travel for business and The Madison Plaza Townsville has been my 'go to' for some time. Its conveniently located, very clean and comfortable, a good sized desk to work at. There's a Woolworths a few steps away, City Lane with good dining and drink options. Save on the room and spend it on good meal and glass.

Sometimes parking can be problematic, however I'm normally checking in after business hours and out before the parking meters get to business.

location was great walk to everything in cbd

parking was in convenient, unsecured and in the open and cost extra but was basically advertised as such. more parking detail required in ad. I was on motorcycle and had to do 3 walks each way. a family with kids and luggage would be an issue especially in heat or rain.

Bed was comfortable. Had a great view of Mount Stuart out the window (room 515) . Was peaceful & quiet. Good size bath/bathroom. Good size rain shower head. Close to everywhere so very handy just walking to places around town.

Water pressure in shower was not good, very weak. Off site car parking paid $15 for but was no real security since boom gates were not working & just open for anyone to come in. Pillows were flat & not comfortable. Thought stairs were dangerous with such dark carpet & so close to edge of bed, so had to leave bathroom light on door closed to see if getting up in night.

We loved the location. It was in the heart of the city and there was ample off-street carparks available. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Our family suite did not have a microwave. It would be a great feature to add this important and regularly used kitchen appliance for families to use, particularly when there is a small fridge in the room.

The hotel, location and staff were fantastic. I would definitely staff here again without hesitation.

The room had a couple of minor issues - a curtain was torn and three power outlets weren't working but none of that really affected my stay. Parking is across the road and slightly around the corner - BUT it is next door to the Police Station so you know your car is safe. I just felt a little funny carrying my pillow back to my car the next day in broad day light while people were driving to work LOL

The location is superb - walking distance to the stadium and lots of restaurants and shops. A short drive to the Strand. We had a lovely view of Castle Hill from the room. Great value for money. The family rooms are huge!

Could have been a little cleaner - there was a bit of mould in the bathrooms and the drains were blocked. Looks like they need a refurb but the price reflects that - great value rooms. The receptionists didn't really seem too interested but they were efficient.
