Nice homely atmosphere, and Kevin was a warm and friendly host who cooked a delicious breakfast. Definitely made a nice change from a hotel. I was in the room with a private bathroom, but there were two bathrooms shared between the other three rooms, so contention for bathroom access would be minimal even with shared bathrooms. There's also a shared kitchen available for guest use, although I didn't use it so I can't review. I was attending a conference at C3 Convention Centre, and it is perfectly situated halfway between the conference centre and the Hobart CBD, an easy 15-20min walk to either. The walk to C3 along Hobart Rivulet is particularly pleasant.

It's an old fashioned B&B in a lovely Victorian house, not a hotel. Some services that you might expect from a hotel are not available.

The host was really friendly, the location was just what I needed for a one night stay in Hobart after arriving and before heading off on a long drive the next day. The room itself was quaint, the breakfast included was basic but delicious and I'm very grateful for the chance to speak to the host while I had breaky. I didn't see much of the rest of the house it as I was really only there for a few hours!

The directions were a little confusing and you can easily drive past the driveway on the main road, and I didn't quite know that I was at the venue even when I did park (I was!) A bigger sign - or a sign on the driveway and little signs to get to the front door would be quite helpful. The only downside to the "let yourself in" system, is that I walked into a super old house where noone was inside at the time and as a solo female traveller I was a little uncomfortable not knowing the place but for others it might not be an issue!

Amazing Breakfast and a friendly host Kevin, he got me unlimited Coffee and food on the best morning. (Breakfast of the day: scrambled egg, toast with butter, bacon, and tomato with herbs) The room is kinda old decorated but you can see the bathroom is renovated and clean. I believe the shampoo and shower gel are for all guest use but I did bring mine so i didn't take any of them. Luckily Kevin got me the room next to the bathroom. Regarding my late arrival, the check-in instructions is very clear and easy, Kevin is quite responsive. The pricing is worth it for the stay and breakfast.

The location is relatively far from CBD(tho 12mins walk) and the accommodation itself is located on a steep road. Not suggest if you bring large and heavy luggage like me. quite a few steps before the entrance .

Kevin was helpful and friendly. The bed was very comfortable and breakfast was very tasty and the coffee was good. Loved the big shower head. And the decor is quirky but nice. The feature wall of old newspaper clippings made for a nice touch. I would definitely stay here again.

The location is tricky to pinpoint as the signs are obscured and not easy to see. There is quite a lot of construction going on out the back which makes it a little tricky to understand where to park to begin with. And the cottage took us a few minutes to locate.

hot cooked breakfast eggs every day, yummy above street in overgrown garden with peach tree... historic bricks brought as ballast and original windows... eager staff with good suggestions: farmers market, grocery store, bus stop..

street noise from traffic, but we were up above and quiet at night a bit far up hill to walk but on bus route, worth the walk and near walking path along creek, and Greek Orthodox Church across the street

Old house in the English style. The friendly and sympathetic owner, Kevin, will take into account your wishes regarding food and can help you organize your leisure time.

An adjacent bathroom in some rooms and a relatively small table for working with a laptop.

A beautiful old Victorian home, with quaint gardens and the wonderful host Kevin. Made an amazing breakfast and barista coffee every day. So easy to communicate with and he was able to accommodate us adding an extra night on the end at last minute. The kitchen is well equipped if you want to cook meals or store items in the refrigerator. We stayed in the downstairs suite which is huge! Beds are very comfortable, excellent hot shower with great water pressure, block out blinds were perfect! Free parking on site at the time too. An easy 15 minute walk to Battery Point and other central places. 2 minute drive to Coles supermarket and bottleshop, pharmacy in walking distance. Everything you need is conveniently close for an easy stay. Would recommend Lowena to everyone!

More heating in the bathroom in colder months would make it even more comfortable. Lots of stairs and uneven ground so wouldn't recommend for people in wheelchairs or limited mobility.

The bed was super big and comfy. The sheets felt fresh and clean. Great view down to the city and back to Mt Wellington. Great walking access to the city. Good communal kitchen facilities. Great off street parking.

Our bathroom door didn't close properly. It just needs a bit shaved off the bottom. The communal kitchen would be improved with a few basic cooking ingredients such as some salt, pepper and olive oil and a selection of tea bags other than English breakfast, so that guests can have a cuppa outside of the main kitchen hours.

Great host Kevin who greeted us with a beaming smile and offered us undercover parking in a building site at the rear of the property. (My be an issue for parking when this area is unavailable). Our room was a separate "quirky" cottage that was still partly renovated but fine for the stay and ample space. Fantastic cooked breakfast and coffee from host and personal chef Kevin in the morning.

Finishing of the renovations still on-going but this was well compensated by good pricing, free parking and a beautiful breakfast. The TV was "smart" but challenging to get basic TV.

Kevin our host was so welcoming. We got such a great night's sleep in the comfortable bed and the bonus was meeting people from all around the world for breakfast in the morning!

We missed the driveway to park our car and had to drive around the block a few times - only because we hired a car.
