You can tell a lot of effort has gone into making this cottage so unique and cozy, and we really enjoyed our stay. The location is fantastic, with convenient parking that made everything even easier. The check-in process was seamless, thanks to clear and stress-free instructions.

The utility room was definitely convenient, with laundry facilities, drying racks, and portable stoves available for use. However, the room felt like it was in need of a little TLC—some repairs and extra care would go a long way in making it feel as welcoming as the lovely cottage itself

I loved this little cottage! A quiet, private and peaceful idyll which was just what I needed for the week. Blooming roses by the entrance and a lovely little garden were the icing on the cake! On site parking was great - as was the use of the shared washing machine. The owners were helpful and kind- I couldn’t have asked for more.

Nothing to dislike. I could have asked for some extra cooking facilities ( the cottage doesn’t have them) but didn’t really feel the need. Good restaurants close by as well as Salamanca Fresh for provisions!

Housekeeper’s is a generously sized apartment with a very well fitted kitchenette and two super bathrooms. It is finished to a high standard, and beautifully presented. It made a warm home for our winter visit to Hobart. We were a couple travelling with our 11 month old. Cot, highchair; toys, books, change mat, kitchenware, bibs and wipes were provided - absolutely first rate for a family with a young child. Communication was always punctual and helpful. We have already recommended this property to our Aussie family.

Good location, fab views from the dining room. Spacious, clean apartment for the family to spread out. Main large bathroom including a bath as well as an ensuite (which is off the bedroom with the two singles). Kitchen was limited to microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee machine and dishwasher, so limited for those looking to self-cater. Otherwise, good facilities including a washing machine and dryer in a separate outdoor building, which was very useful after staying in a motorhome prior. I would recommend this apartment for families (who are happy to mainly eat out) and would stay here again.

Would have liked a stove top to be able to cook pasta etc for out youngest child. The king bed wasn't the comfiest and would benefit from an upgrade. You can only turn left out of the accommodation, but this was a minor inconvenience.

This beautiful Georgian horse was clean and well equipped, a great view, a convenient location and a comfortable place to spend time and relax.

One tiny issue was the power on one side of the bed in the main room - it took us a while to realise there was a powerboard under the bed which was a bit awkward to reach. I travel with my own powerboard so it was fine for me. Some time later we realised there was another powerboard on the premises which would also have worked - an extension cord would be a good addition.

My husband and I we so pleasantly surprised by this property. It exceeded our expectations. The location is wonderful in that you can walk easily 15 mins to the town center or catch an Uber for approx $10. Colonial history meets with a tasteful modern twist. Heated floors in bathroom, faux fireplace but very realistic, central heating so nice and toasty for those very cold Tasmania days and nights. Wonderfully accommodating staff on hand for anything. Certainly one of our most favourite properties. Lots of natural light and wonderfully spacious for a couple. Can't recommend it highly enough. BEATS A HOTEL ANY DAY. Also cafes only a 5 min walk.

NOTHING!!

We absolutely LOVED Old Bishop's quarters. The room was warm, homely and had so many added features. We are architects ourselves and appreciated all the time and effort spend on the design, use of sustainable materials and the functionality of amenities. We enjoyed EVERY minute of our stay and have recommended the location to others

The only downside was the lack of cooking facilities, we found it hard not being to be able to prepare the smallest of meals.

Everything! We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Hobart. The location was perfect for exploring historical sites by foot and for going on longer adventures by car. Old Housekeepers is cosy with beautiful views and all the amenities our family of five needed - including a little kitchenette to enjoy local delicacies from the Hill Street Grocer. The caretakers are delightful and make sure you feel at home. I can see why Old Bishop's has such fantastic reviews.

There's nothing we didn't like..

The house is beautiful and had incredible views of Mount Wellington and the harbour. It has everything you need to feel comfortable for a short or long stay. Rebecca was very attentive and fantastic to deal with. I would stay again next time I’m in town.

What a gem. Unique and private, a lovely cottage with everything one might wish for and more. A 15 minute walk to Hobart CBD and just a short stroll to Sandy Bay beach and shops. And the copper tub of Maud’s Cottage is to die for.
