Basic & affordable accommodation an hour away from Hobart. Parking is convenient & there’s a pub that opens until late the night we checked in. The room itself was nice, spacious and clean and had water view right outside.

Could improve on the communication, as the hotel manager’s number stuck outside was not contactable at all for late check in guest. Had to wait for pub guests to exit the venue before we finally manage to get inside to check in.

I arrived much later than expected; a bit after 9pm. Not only did staff keep reception open to let me in, but when I told them I hadn't eaten, they cooked me a very tasty pizza. The kitchen had already been closed an hour, but they did it anyway. The staff and locals were so friendly, I ended up chatting and eating my pizza at the hotel bar until 10.30pm. As a single mum of 4 and tea-totaller, I am naturally a home-body. I was taken by surprise by how welcoming they all were. I had a really good time. I also asked for and was given a late checkout. My room was like a detached unit with its own beach-side deck. The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean. The bed was king-size and very comfy. The towels looked brand new. There was a clean kettle, toaster and bar fridge. The heatpump kept me cosy. The hotel is only a minute's stroll to Raspins Beach; voted Tasmania's cleanest beach. There is a bird sanctuary here and the path beside the hotel follows its border. I saw many beautiful parrots in the gumtrees and also saw some ambitious ducks swimming for Maria Island. It was a hot day. But I was the only one exploring Raspins Beach. Then I walked back along the path, past the hotel, to the nearby cafes for lunch. The location of Orford Blue Waters Hotel is so beautiful, the room so clean, the staff and locals so friendly, I would 100% come back and stay here again. I enjoyed staying here much more than other more expensive hotels because there are some things money just can't buy.

It would have been great to have a microwave to reheat my leftover pizza in the morning.

The room was beautiful with an amazing view. The huge floor to ceiling windows felt so luxurious and was lovely waking up to the sunset. Would be the perfect summer getaway stop. The food at the restaurant was great too. Great cafe close by for breakfast.

The bathroom smelt like old running shoes for a reason we couldn’t work out. It was a pretty cold room, we stayed in spring and was fine but I think it would be very cold in winter. The large windows meant there was a lot of cold coming in over night and the aircon didn’t keep up.

When we arrived I asked to move to another room with views. This was provided for a small increase in room rate. All staff were friendly and service was excellent. The restaurant is also excellent with an interesting menu from simple snacks to finer dining. We ate here each evening and the daily specials changed every day and were always interesting. The chef was young and we told him how much we had enjoyed our meals. We had not been to Orford before and would highly recommend the Blue Waters Hotel.

The facilities appear to have been updated and look very fresh and clean. The parking was easy. The location is near the water and not far from the shops which are on the other side of the river. It is an hotel and has a restaurant if you want to eat in as well as a bottle shop. There is a fridge with freezer compartment, toaster and kettle in the room. The bed was very comfortable.

I would have liked a microwave in the room. There are soap dispensers in the bathroom which require squeezing the holder to get the soap. This took some working out. It wasn't fixed very well to the wall.

Beautiful decor, room is clean and looks new. Staff are friendly and easy for late check in, just ring them to arrange. Room is equipped with a small fridge, kettle and tea. Bathroom has heater and hot water. Plenty & spacious free parking. Very good value and recommended.

Would be better if they have choice for room with stove and bed warmer. Communication needs improvement and property should be more proactive to arrange for late check in when guest has indicated so, instead of waiting for guest to reach out.

We had two adjoining rooms for a one night stay. Perfect place for a pit stop. Kitchen facilities included in room which was handy. Lots of parking available.

Was very surprised at the size of the room! Was clean and had new furniture. Thought the location was great as we were doing a day trip to Maria Island from Triabunna. The in-house bistro also had excellent food. Overall was a great experience.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. I made a request to have a microwave in my room, and they were able to fulfil this. The room is spacious and has everything you need. Also came with a great view. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay.

Voice cancelling/ insulation was poor. Hence, you can easily hear people walking pass your room/ while they talk, which makes it hard to sleep.

Property has a bar , bistro , keno with beautiful views of a river and river mouth . It certainly has a stunning view while dinning. It’s open lunch and dinner but not breakfast. The rooms were modern , spacious , quiet and clean . Has air conditioning , shower water is nice and hot . Ideally placed if you’re going to Maria Island . Stunning river and beaches. Check in was professional and efficient .
