A delightful cottage which is well equiped with everything you need to stay in and relax if thats what you want to do. Comfortable with great beds, a big spacious spa bath and last but not least and amazing view. Huge balcony to sit outside (in the warmer months) to enjoy the peace and scenery. The birds in the morning are a delightful surprise.

I really struggled to get the wood fire going and to burn. I think the flue to allow more air in was jammed. The second night i was there I just couldnt get a fire going for long at all and wasnt able to enjoy a nice warm fire. The rev cycle AC with heating upstairs is ineffective downstairs.

Kylie and Glen our hosts, were wonderful! Lots of helpful information, quick to respond, very accommodating. The cottage was sparkling clean, kitchen very well equipped. It was a cold, stormy weekend - but we were toasty warm with a fireplace, plenty of wood supplied and electric blanket, reverse cycle heater (but we didn’t need it). This was one of the few properties around Lorne that supplied linen- made travelling much easier. In the morning we were greeted by kangaroos, cockatoos and rosellas at our door. We loved our stay and will be back!

I don’t know where to begin with this place! It really is something very unique and special! The cottages are set in a lovely secluded bush setting above Lorne. My mom and I stayed in the 2 bedroom horizons cottages. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the cottage was fully equipped. The hosts were only a phone call away for any questions. The absolute highlight for me was all the lovely, friendly Cockatoos and Rosellas who came to visit our deck. The hosts even provide a tub of food for them! Interacting with these beautiful birds was a big highlight of our holiday!

we all like everthing at Lorne Bush House Cottages & Eco Retreats. we love the wild live , Kangaroos and Birds and sounds. very relaxing. We had everthing we needed here.we love having an open fire toasting marshmellows.

The only thing we did not like was hot hot water in shower does not stay hot for long, it goes cold then you have to turn taps off then turn on and hot water restarts. there should be a note to le all guest know about showet hot water.

Location was, as expected, a short, easy drive from the centre of Lorne. Beautiful surroundings. We were there in winter so very quiet. Nice to have a playground area. Good contact by text from hosts prior to arrival, on suggesting places to eat in Lorne, and re departure. Facilities very good. Electric blankets were a godsend :-) Shower was excellent... lovely power and hot water (and shower gel, shampoo and conditioner). Crockery etc in good supply and excellent quality. Everything we needed was there and in working order. Bonus to see kangaroos in the grounds, even the joeys popping out of the pouch. Lovely.

We felt quite isolated. We didn't see any other holidaymakers or the hosts. It was cold! Yes, we were there in winter but we underestimated how cold we would be. Take plenty of layers!

The location and immediacy to nature were amazing. It was a very cool mix between camping and glamping that my partner and I enjoyed - we don’t do very hardcore camping, so this was a perfect balance. Also the hosts were incredible and communicative and were able to put the heater and heated blankets on early for us as we were arriving late in the evening - it made all the difference to arrive to a warm tent when it was a bit chilly out.

The spider on the curtain that had been hanging out in there! After a minor scare, we removed it from the tent safely and placed it outside. Aside from that there was nothing we didn’t like. The eco tents are advertised correctly and we had a great experience for the one evening.

We were a family of 6, 2 grandparents sleeping in one of the Eco retreats and 2 parents with 2 kids sleeping in another one. The place is like a big tent standing in a wood platform but with all the luxuries of a regular apartment. We got there in the afternoon and a couple of Kangaroos were standing just in front of the place. The landscape around the place is beautiful, and the tents have something special. They also have nice firework places, a volleyball net, a little playground… our kids had so much fun. Also, we were there in June, and even though it was quite cold outside we were quite comfortable inside with a little heater and electric blankets. Nice place!

Beautiful bush setting, lovely little house with all facilities needed, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with one room big enough for a crowd if needed. Quiet, up in the hills, but just a short drive from the Great Ocean Road/beach/town. Very friendly cockatoos begging to be fed on the deck each morning.

Was a little on the expensive side.

Very good. Small quibbles. We managed quite well but the upstairs bedroom with the bathroom on the ground floor in our cottage would probably be a problem for the not so agile or older folks especially at night. We are very experienced with wood, combustion heaters and it would have been even better to use if the wood had been of higher quality, debarked and better split. Some higher quality kindling would also have been useful. However overall we are very positive and hope to return some time in the future. From our point of view, the location was perfect. In the bush yet very close to Lorne. Really beautiful and diverse walking trails were within easy driving distance.

We had the most amazing experience at the property, doing a last minute barbie, setting up a camp fire to toast marshmallow. The property we were staying at was adequate and it wasn't hard to find. Great fun!

We woke up to 11 parrots ransacking the bin next to the barbie, and had to do quite a bit of clean off from all the meat packaging. Slightly frightening sight in the morning. Thankfully my husband knows parrots and was able to get them away.
