The view was amazing but we had paid extra to have a balcony. The room was warm and spacious but not luxurious .The breakfast was very good and I particularly enjoyed having my own teapot! The location was out of town but we chose that to get the view and a more traditional Austrian hotel. We booked and enjoyed the spa. We used Ubers to get in and out of Salzburg. The hotel would be difficult to access if there was heavy snow. We paid 4 euro each and got a bus up to the top of a mountain to be in the snow for a few hours. The view of the alps from up there was panoramic!

The restaurant menu was limited and quite expensive. The receptionists could be more helpful.

The place was peaceful, clean and had the best view! So great to see the sunrise and sunset in one location! We had a family room where there was a separate bed for my son and it was perfect! We had dinner at the restaurant and it was very delicious. Staff were helpful and friendly!

Wish there were a bit more hot food for breakfast. There isn't a fridge or kettle in the room, so it would have been nice to have this to have an evening tea or even get snacks for lunch the next day. If you don't have your own car, this place is a bit far and can be expensive with taxis to and from the city centre.

Stunningly beautiful. On the edge of the city yet an oasis of tranquility. Just don’t listen to your gps when it says you have arrived. It’s up the steep hill and past all the trees that form a canopy over the road as the winding path. Then turn left at the farm fence with the sign that says restaurant parking. That takes you up a lane equally gorgeous with oaks on each side. Family owned and I’ve never felt so cared for with endless patience to answer our touring questions. The breakfast was a constantly refreshed buffet of a big assortment of fresh food.

Amazing views and tranquility

The hotel is on the outskirts of Salzburg with a view over the city. The name "Schöne Aussicht" (beautiful view) is definitely justified. Unfortunately we arrived when it was super foggy and dark, so we couldn't see a thing :-D The hotel is comfortable, staff is very nice, the room was very spacious and included a table with comfortable chairs. There is plenty of parking space available and it's very quiet.

We would have wanted to eat a little something in the hotel's restaurant but there was only a set daily menu offered. However, I do understand that they can't maintain an entire menu only for the hotel guests, so this is hardly criticism. It just meant for us, with a small child (picky), that we had to go eat something elsewhere.

It is difficult for me to rate the view because during our stay, it was raining and foggy, so the view was restricted. However, what we could see was very nice and I have no doubt that the view would be stunning on a clear day. Breakfast was buffet style with a large selection of food and drinks. The grounds and hotel were clean and the staff was polite and helpful. The only minor drawback I can mention is that the road up to the hotel is steep and narrow. This was not a problem for us in our rental car, but I do want to mention it. Also, if you plan to do a lot of sightseeing in Salzburg, a more central hotel in the city might be your preference. We used a taxi to bring from the hotel to Salzburg and then back again. which worked well.

As mentioned, the hotel is outside of the city. Not far, but more than walking distance to attractions in the city. This is only a minor issue because I'm sure that during clear weather, the view from the hotel is worth the extra drive.

Communication was brilliant from start to finish. We sent messages on a few occasions and always hot a reply. Staff allowed us to park our car at the hotel early for us to catch an uber into Salzburg centre. The room was available too early for us. The hotel is a little outdated but such a huge traditional hotel. The room was spacious with no balcony but the view was amazing and didn't disappoint. We decided to eat late at the hotel and the food was outstanding. We don't often choose beef but both dishes were cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth. The staff in the restaurant were also friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately we had to leave early so couldn't stay for breakfast but if the evening meal was anything to go by then I'm sure it would have been delicious. The views from the hotel, restaurant and pool were beautiful and peaceful and only the sound of nature. Even the other residents were friendly.

We were on foot. Caught a bus out from salzburg to end of line had to walk about 1.5 kms up a very steep hill. Walked back after dropping luggage and up again through a paddock was spectacular. Maybe offer a pick up service initially with luggage as I am sure you would fill the hotel no problem as in a most fantastic position.

Fabulous views across Saltzberg, from the patio and from our room and balcony. The outside was beautiful and green wish a walk possible down into Saltzberg. The staff were very friendly and approachable. Breakfast had a great choice and was available until 10am and checkout was at 12. So did not feel rushed to leave. Our room was a great size and amazing views.

There was no facilities for refreshments in the room, although this was not a big problem., it was surprising.

The location is incredibly beautiful, overlooking Salzburg and the mountains around it. The property itself is beautiful, you feel like staying on a postcard. Breakfast is amazing, everything you want, and lots of delicious food you didn't even know you wanted to try. The staff is friendly and professional. The water pressure in the shower is another plus.

The only thing I missed was air conditioning. We had to leave the window open overnight and, although silent and dark, it did not provide the perfect night sleep I was looking for. Because it was October, the air outside was cool and helped. I'm not sure if I would be able to stay there during the summer high heat...

The location is convenient if you have a car, and the city view is truly spectacular. The breakfast is delicious, the rooms are comfortable, and the staff is friendly. I liked the pool and area around.

With such a stunning view, having breakfast outside seems like a great idea. However, the wasps also think so, making it hard to enjoy the meal. Eventually, everyone moved back inside.
