loved the location and proximity to everything within Charleroi. everything was clean and I also like the consideration for the environment with a bin for sorting recycling and rubbish. we ordered a taxi for our super early flight. the taxi driver was amazing and even gave our kids waffles once we got to the airport in his lovely Lexus taxi 😀

the room had a stale/stuffy smell when we walked in at first, as if the room was not ventilated very well. there are no opening windows so this would explain the smell.

The location is excellent, the hotel looks clean and modern both inside and outside.

You need to change two lifts before you can get from the ground floor to the 5th floor - walking across the entire lobby (located on the 2nd floor) from one lift to the other. When you have to do this a couple of times per day - it becomes a bit annoying. The second lift is activated from inside only with the room card. However, before we checked out, the card stopped working and we were not able to get back up to our room. The card had to be reconfigured at the reception desk which took time and we were quite a bit in a hurry.

We made a last-minute booking due to traffic issues. My partner told me Novotel hotels are always the same: they look very nice and provide a decent quality, but the have noice issues. This is indeed a beautiful hotel with well equipped rooms. The bathroom is modern and spotless clean. The personnel is very professional and friendly. The location is brilliant, just a stone cast from the main railway station. Basically, it's a good value for your money.

See above: they do have noise issues. We could clearly hear when the people next room were talking or laughing. We were lucky to have neighbours who went to sleep before midnight. But it's frustrating to completely depend on the behaviour of complete strangers. I would only recommend this hotel for those to whom this is not a big issue.

That was the largest hotel room I’ve ever been to! Spacious, well equipped, exceptionally clean, with a coffee machine, kettle and fridge, a beautiful bathroom and fantastic shower - everything I ever wanted in a hotel room. My only regret was that we couldn’t spend more time there - our flight was early in the morning. The staff were very courteous and helpful. If I’m ever in Charleroi again - that’s where I’ll stay! Highly recommended!

The décor was a bit bland but it was expected and did not spoil our enjoyment of the room. The photos give a very accurate representation.

We booked this at the last minute as we couldn't drive home any more. The room is very spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The location is fantastic right inside/ beside the Rive Gauche mall. Easy to access from downtown. Staff was also great on checking in and out.

Can offer some moisturiser and toiletries like toothbrush, shower cap etc which I expect for a 4 star hotel. There was also only one bottle of water for a room for two :(

The Breakfast- we travel around Europe and this is not the best. The room was not setup for self service buffet. There was a very small area for the hot food- only bacon, scrambled eggs and hotdog sausages. There was no milk - had to be asked for. No tea bags - asked for them and the staff went and eventually came back saying they were the last two! And all this at a cost of €46 for two. We walked 100m across the square for breakfast the other 4 mornings. Conversely we ate an evening meal and the service was excellent and food of good quality for the price paid

Beautiful, clean place for our family to have an evening/ night stop over before a morning flight. The hotel was spotless, the staff friendly and helpful in arranging a taxi the next morning. Our beds had crisp white sheets and were really comfy. The showers were fab, beautifully designed walk in showers with massive shower heads! We loved the fact we could have a shop late afternoon in the adjoining shopping centre and some food and a drink in the hotel’s bar in the evening. All in all a great stay, we hadn’t expected the standard for the money we paid.

We didn’t stay long enough to find anything we didn’t like!

The bed was very good, the room had good curtains to block light, shower was very good, the room was clean and very quiet. Breakfast was okay, could have done with better bread. The hotel sent instructions for the parking - follow these, it will save you a lot of hassle.

Furniture other than the bed were really uncomfortable, the bath was small (in a large bathroom) and the cooling system is very poorly designed (you can't open the windows and the AC was not sufficient to cope). The hotel was not very busy, but they were clearly understaffed (e.g. if the receptionist went to the bathroom, they had to close the reception as there was no cover and in the restaurant there was a clear lack of cleaning (not an issue in the room).

The hotel looks fresh & new; it is quite large; located in the city center; there are restaurants & shopping center in the vicinity; the hotel has a good bar with food; the beds are comfortable; it takes 15 minutes to get to the airport, the train station is 5 minutes walk. The city is very quiet.

The breakfast is poor. We had an issue with the taxi which the hotel called for us - the taxi did not have access to the airport. The driver was going to drop us off at a gas station 600 meters away from the airport, and he spoke just French. We managed to ask him to take us to the airport entrance, and apparently he could access the airport just for 2 Euro extra fee which we paid.

Easy to locate, very clean and a professional staff that just make you feel at home. From the reception to the bar/restaurant staff, you feel welcome. I will not hesitate to come back when next I have a lay-over in Charleroi.

There is a provision for connecting from upper levels directly to the reception area by lift, but we noticed this lift has been disabled, forcing guests to walk from one lift to the next across the entire lobby/bar/restaurant area( quite narrow and with other guests having drinks/food). This can be a little bit cumbersome when you have a lot of luggage.
