The hotel has a perfect location, close to the ski lifts for three different directions, to the nice park Pesako with night lights which leads to the centre of the resort and there are wonderful views from the terraces. Very convenient for those who seek diverse experiences beyond just SPA or ski - we consulted with the people from the adventure park in the hotel and they gave us great ideas for walks nearby. Reaching the Musala hut and lake just for 1,5 hrs by lift and short walk was a dream come true. The swimming pool is clean and large, with nice greenery around it. The steam bath and the Turkish bath are very large and well-maintained, the SPA area in general is convenient for many people and offers perfect relaxation. The massages were amazing. The lobby bar is spacious and cosy for groups of friends.

Since we visited out of the busy season, it appeared that the room was not well aired in advance which triggered my dust allergy. This was gradually adjusted but in general the room carpeting is a prerequisite for such reactions, no matter how diligent the cleaning personnel are. It was surprising that the bathroom did not have facilities for warming the towels / drying swimsuits - this could be a challenge during winter vacations. The rooms are overall modern and conveniently designed but somehow small for longer stays.

The location, the staff, the facilities (rooms, spa, fitness), the activities for children, the breakfast buffet and the nature.

There was no air-conditioning in the rooms, which in the summer even in the mountains, is a necessity. The evenings were fresh enough, but if someone next door is smoking on the balcony then it is impossible to open the balcony door. We were informed at the reception that this will be improved in the future.

There is no air conditioning in the room and it was very uncomfortable for us to stay. We were given a fan, but it wasn’t ok.

Great location, breakfast with a big variety of things and with a lovely view, the kids' pool is good for little kids, many saunas.

Bad wi-fi, terrible coffee, and not-so-fresh fruits. No noise isolation, uncomfortable parking arrangement (you have to validate in the lobby the parking card every time 15 min before you leave). The cleaning of the room was bad - they don't replace used cups or spoons, just rinse them a bit in the sink, don't go over the entire room to pick up dirty towels on the floor, and don't replace toilet paper.

Everything was excellent! The stuff was very friendly. The hotel has a great location, just next to the ski slops. The swimming pool was really good. There was a big variety of food every day. The lounge-bar (restaurant) has a great terrace with the beautiful view. Our kids enjoyed very much the kindergarten with the internal playground. The lady working there, if I remember correctly was called Ella, was extremely kind. We got short of diapers for our baby and she was so kind to buy and bring us one package from her town nearby.

We had a marvelous stay at Rila Hotel! The staff were kind and polite, the breakfast and dinner were delicious, and our room was spacious, clean, with a gorgeous view of the mountain slopes. After an active day of hiking or cycling, the SPA and swimming pool were especially relaxing, with fatigue melting away in the Turkish bath. I can confidently say that Rila Hotel offers excellent value for money and met our expectations.

The lifeguard at the pool surprised us with a rude tone, saying we couldn’t play with the ball. It was just an innocent gummy ball that my younger son and I were tossing to each other in the common area of the pool without disturbing the swimmers. After reading the pool rules carefully, I found nothing about playing with a ball in the pool. Drinking water, tea, and coffee bags were provided in the room only on the first day of our stay.

An excellent accommodation, very clean, with everything you need in the room and bathroom, practically furnished, modern. The location is extraordinary, right at the base of the slopes and ski facilities. In the room there is an electric mug and a mini fridge. The multitude of plugs is to be appreciated. We also appreciated the existence of Romanian TV programs. The cleanliness is exemplary. The behavior of the staff is professional, discreet, friendly, smiling, interested that the guests feel good. Christmas dinner was excellent, there was also a live artistic program. The food, both in the morning and in the evening was very varied, fine and tasty. Breakfast is from 7:30, so it allows for a ski program from the early hours. The SPA facilities (swimming pool, wet and dry saunas, Turkish bath, heated beds) are operational according to schedule, regardless of the number of guests. Bathrobes and slippers are available in the room. We have also been hotel guests in the summer and we have come back with pleasure to this hotel and our expectations were exceeded in the winter :)

It was impossible to find a negative aspect.

Big luxurious hotel right in the middle of the resort. Literally across the street from the ski-slopes and lifts. Well organized - so everything works as intended, the pools and saunas are clean, the breakfast buffet is rich and covers all tastes; the front desk staff is fast and efficient. Despite the large size of the hotel, the lobby and shared facilities still manage to feel cozy.

A small minus point is that while the main bar in the lobby offers a wide selection of international drinks (which one could get anywhere in the world), it only offers a limited selection of local liqueurs - which is a bit pity.

Excellent pool, jacuzzi, saunas, steam rooms, cold room and relaxation area. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Room was comfortable and a good size with a balcony.

Shower floods onto the bathroom floor which means that you're mopping up with towels every time you use. Beauty treatment at the spa was very poor and not at all relaxing. We gave feedback which was listened to and addressed. We weren't charged for the treatment which we appreciated. Some staff members were friendly; others were not welcoming.

Hotel staff are very helpful and honest. I received a phone call from the guest relations manager one week after returning home. He asked me if I had left anything in the room? They had found €600 that I had left on the top shelf of the wardrobe and they worked out it was me because of the ski passes that were with the cash. This was a massive surprise to hear and the staff went above and beyond to return the money to me. They transferred the money by Western Union and I had it back in a couple of days. Thanks to guest relations manager Yordan and to all his team at Hotel Rila we will hopefully be back again next year.
