This is a really well run hotel with beautiful rooms full of stylish furniture the owner (Hristo) goes the extra mile to ensure you feel welcome and have everything you need for your stay. Our bed was extremely comfortable and although we didn't really like the first pillows there was the option to change and the others were great. There was a huge walk-in shower, air con, hairdryer, iron, it was a perfect base for our time in Plovdiv. The location is just on the edge of the beautiful old town and 5 mins from The Trap.

The only downside for our stay was how loud closing the doors were, both the internal bathroom ones and the main room doors. Not sure there's much you can do in an old building but we certainly knew when each of the other rooms was coming or going.

I loved the hotel and the staff were really helpful. Comfortable well appointed rooms, lovely antiques and good attention to detail with most needs catered for in the room, including a kettle tea/ coffee, high wattage hair dryer and toiletries provided in the room. Bed was extremely comfortable and the white bedding and duvet much appreciated. WiFi was also v good. hotel is well situated for the old town and the main town itself.

Only one issue. Soundproofing - the lack of it which is only a problem if you have inconsiderate guests. This is a traditional Bulgarian building with original style wooden floors. Lots of hard surfaces. No carpet on the staircase and stairwells meant that every time someone went by my room (which was next to the stairwell and the first room that everyone walked by) their footfall and talking made a racket in the room. I was in room 14 which is directly above the dining area. Could hear everything going on below. Luckily I brought earplugs. I would stay again as it’s a lovely hotel but book early and get a room on the top floor!

Staying at Evomplia hotel is pure magic. Period. It all starts with Hristo, the hotel's owner, super-attentive, fabulously communicating all the information you need in the most nicest and warmest way possible, from the moment of booking, thru paying attention to all small details and gestures such as a welcome sign in Hebrew that awaited us in the lobby upon arrival, it continues with Dani who manged our check-in process in a lovely way, providing us all the necessary info and more along with cold lemonade, coffee, wine and cheese (almost forgot to mention the delightful breakfast the morning after...) and ends with a beautiful hotel and room, amazing location in the old city, and a feeling we missed out by staying only one night in this remarkable establishment before returning home. Highly and strongly recommended!

An exquisite hotel with antique style. In the very heart of the old town, just 5 mins walk to the ancient theatre and 10 mins to Kapana. Exceptional customer attitude and attention - you can enjoy free coffee, tea, water and home made lemonade, as well as a glass of wine with some cheese after 4 pm. The staff thinks of each and every detail they can make you feel comfortable - the AC was already on when we got into the rooms and we could take a short, cool break before going out again. The rooms are equipped with everything that you may need - water heater (in antique style of course) with instant coffee and tea, iron and ironing board, and you can even change your pillow if you don't find it comfortable enough.

The bathroom sink is exceptional but I personally found it slightly uncomfortable as water spatters out.

The location for this hotel was excellent making it easy to walk to all of the attractions. The staff were very warm and hospitable answering any questions you may have. It was very nice to have the complimentary wine and cheese plate in the afternoon as well as the lemonade offered throughout the day. The air conditioned room was very big and the bed comfortable. Breakfast consisted of cereal, various cheeses and cold cuts, hard boiled eggs, croissants, yogurt, fruit and vegetables, as well as tea or coffee or juice. We really enjoyed the antique decor in the room.

The location was really great- convenient to both the old town and the newer pedestrian part of town. We didn’t need a car at all. Our room was nice, with a very small little terrace, but had a nice view of the quaint cobblestone streets in old town! The young lady that checked us in, Nikki, was very sweet, and we enjoyed the homemade lemonade. The room was very clean albeit being a bit small. It was nice to have a choice of nine types of pillows too, but we were fine with the ones provided.

We stayed four nights; it would have been nice if the afternoon wine and cheese, as well as the breakfast choices could have been varied. Everything was exactly the same every day. Also, having a bottle of water provided in our room each day would have been a nice touch since it was very warm outside. It was still nice, but “variety is the spice of life” as the saying goes!! We ended up going into the town for breakfast on our last day. Otherwise, it was a pleasant place to enjoy some time in lovely stay in Plovdiv!

Great breakfast, excellent location, unique rooms with antique furniture, a free mini-bottle of local wine and cheese plate in the evening, and very friendly staff. All of the regular facilities are stellar.

My partner got very sick overnight (no fault of the hotel) but we were nonetheless kicked out of the room at check-out time. I understand it's a business but we really felt bad about it, and she was in no state to move around.

Without doubt, the best welcome I have ever had from a hotel. My name was written on a 'welcome board' in reception, I was sat down with a glass of refreshing homemade lemonade and even offered alternative pillows if not happy with what I had. Super spreads at breakfast with a vast array on offer, including homemade jam and chutney. All freshly made. Location was in the heart of the old town and everywhere was within easy walking distance. All the staff were very friendly and the owner/manager personally arranged a private driver to take us on a day trip (at very reasonable cost) out of Plovdiv for the day. All exceptional, amazing service. The hotel was full of character and reflected old style Bulgarian tastes - if you want a bland, modern hotel, then don't stay here - if you want personality and charm and a taste of Bulgarian hospitality, this is a must.

Small gripes considering how good everything else was - there was no plug in the bathroom sink and the replacement shower head did not fit in the clip on the wall, so it had to be handheld. The old-style building and wooden floorboards meant that sound carried through the hotel. The offer of a free glass of red wine was only available for the first night and the stock was not replenished after the second night (to be fair, I didn't raise it with them as I felt it was a bit churlish to ask!)

So much attention to detail. We were greeted by a member of staff who sat down with us to take us through the details of the hotel and things to do and places to eat, as we sipped their home made lemonade. The room was amazing, very spacious with lovely old-fashioned styling. The cheese and wine before we went out each night was very much appreciated. Breakfast was very nicely laid out with a variety of cereal, meat, cheese, yoghurt and bread. It's in an excellent location in the old town, with some of the main places to visit within close walking distance. It is also very close to the Kapana area where there are many places to eat. It was just a couple of of minutes from the bus we took from the bus station.

The room decor was lovely. The bed was very comfortable and cozy. The shower space was huge, and the water was hot. The hotel offered free coffee, tea and delicious homemade lemonade all day. If breakfast was included in the room price (ours wasnt), you also had wine and cheese offered in the afternoon. The croissant at breakfast was delicious. The hotel had umbrellas to use. The staff gave an introduction upon check in and had a map of important places and restaurant suggestions.

The price for the breakfast was a bit expensive. No fridge in the room.
