Superb hotel in a superb location. The receiption staff were superb - friendly, welcoming and conversational without feeling like they were keeping you. The room was fantastic with a great view from the balcony, and was enormous. Toiletries were very good, a great shower and a very, very comfortable bed. Breakfast is complimentary for all guests, and was a superb buffet with something for everyone.

Not much to dislike! The lighting wasn't great - mostly by side lights and the entrance area to the room wasn't lit at all. There was something of a lack of plug sockets for people who travel with lots of things that need charging.

Our stay at the Banff Aspen Lodge was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The location is perfect—close enough to the heart of Banff to walk to shops, restaurants, and attractions, yet just far enough to feel like a peaceful retreat. We had the pleasure of interacting with Anthony at the front desk during our vacation in Banff, and he truly went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable! He was incredibly helpful in securing us a reservation for our Christmas Eve lunch and provided excellent recommendations for local restaurants and activities. His knowledge of the area was impressive, and his friendly demeanor and great vibes added so much to our experience. Thank you, Anthony, for your exceptional service—you made our trip even more special!

The breakfast at the hotel was delicious and a great way to start the day, but we feel it could be even better with more variety between days. However, we did experience an issue with housekeeping during our stay. On one occasion, our room wasn’t cleaned properly—we had to call once to have it addressed. The recycling wasn’t taken out, and the beds weren’t fully made up. While the staff was quick to respond and resolve the issue, we hope this is an area the hotel improves in the future.

We had a premium Queen room with 2 queens bed and the configuration of the room made it feel like a 2 bedroom, which was great with our adult daughter travelling with us and the basins and mirrors were outside the shower room which was great. Had a balcony and mountain view. Great cafe on site and has got awesome coffee. Breakfast came with our stay. Banff Aspen was clean and staff more than helpful, Comfortable rooms and short 5min walk to down town. Price was fair compared to others hotels. Did get to use hot tubs extra but they were used by others even in earlier January.

The hotel exceeded our expectations! The on-site cafe, the WhiteBark Cafe, was excellent and free breakfast was far better than regular hotel chain offerings. Breakfast servers were great and brought beverages to your table. A good selection of hot and cold items were available buffet style. The location was perfect to explore Banff on foot. We walked to the Cave and Basin; Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel and several excellent restaurants! The staff were very helpful and competent. Our premium room had two queen beds separated by the bathroom. Bathroom toilet and tub/shower was separate from the double sinks. Different layout that worked well for us. Wish we had brought bathing suits to enjoy the spa pools and sauna in the interior courtyard - looks like a Nordic spa!

Great walkable location in downtown Banff! This hotel has clean, bright minimalist vibes, thoughtful layout in the suites (the bathroom divides the sleeping area from the living area for a greater sense of privacy/spaciousness). We took advantage of the hotubs in the central courtyard every evening and the hot breakfast every morning!

The mattress was very stiff and firm, but the bedding was high-quality. There’s also very limited breakfast options for anyone with dietary restrictions (I.e. only soy milk for dairy-free) but it was otherwise a good spread.

We loved the location, the rooms, the staff…. In fact we really enjoyed everything about the lodge. Comfortable, clean and perfect location.

Only one recommendation to anyone staying there….. we were on the first floor, perfect for the pool, hot tub, saunas etc, but found the people above us often wore their ski boots while getting ready in the mornings and it was loud and echoed through our room. No fault of the lodge of course, but just something to keep in mind in winter.

The shower was very weak and there was not much space in the bathroom. In respect of the room cleaning, this was good but an option to have the bed made without the towels being changed would have been good as this would have been environmentally friendly without coming back to an uncleaned room. For example, towels on floor means to wash and towels on rails means to keep would have been a good option.

We loved all aspect of the stay at your hotel. The room was clean and spacious. We were three of us and the separate bedrooms provided privacy and worked well for our case, We loved the variety and quality of breakfast. The restaurant was cozy and servers were attentive and helpful. The location being close to downtown is fantastic. Staff at Front Desk and the lobby cafeteria are all friendly and welcoming. My senior dog was very happy as a couple of staff kneeled down next to her to pet and talk to her. Was a great stay overall.

We've booked a 2 Queen bed room and it was great. There's one queen bed as we enter, with the bathroom and tea area in the middle which connected with the other side of a bigger queen-bed room. Our room is roomy with enough privacy especially for 2 different families. It's facing a quiet street on the ground floor which is great for seniors. Breakfast was included in our price and food is great with lots of choices. The hotel may look old on the outside but it was newly renovated with 2 small hot tubs and a small sauna room. The lobby has a small coffee shop and a descent waiting area with a fireplace. Though it is located at the other end of Banff Ave but only 30 mins walk to Fairmount Banff Hotel. Everywhere is easily accessible by walking here and there.

Restaurant is a bit small and thus the food tables are small. If expanded, there can be more room to serve juices and fruits etc. It's very busy during breakfast time.
