The staff are friendly and super helpful. The location is perfect for exploring downtown and the bus system makes it easy to go further out. For someone who loves trains, I did not mind the hourly sounds and I wouldn't give up the view of the river and pathway. It is quiet and peaceful otherwise.

The elevator was entertaining. The doors do not always open when you get to your floor and if you wait for them to open on their own, you could end up where you started. Once you get the hang of it, there is no problem.

The hotel is located strategically. It is convenient to easily access the town, and it is also a short walk to access some trails just outside of the town. Also if you are interested in seeing life, having the bow river right behind you means that you will most likely encounter elk.

The building is quite old due to it being built a long time ago. This means no air conditioning, and the interior design can be quite outdated. As a group of three who booked a double queen bed room, we were quite cramped.

Really liked the location - close to the center of town and amenities, yet quiet. One of the rooms we booked looked out to the river and the trees. There's water both cool and hot (for tea/coffee) at the ground floor lobby, there's an elevator, every floor has a communal microwave in the lobby. The fridge in the room was very effective, actually froze our milk/coke. Bathrooms were a little tight but very manageable. Despite not having air conditioning, letting the outside air in and having a room fan kept the temperature very comfortable. Parking is in sister property Banff park lodge (right next door, still good access), quite a lot of spaces available in the underground parking (even though we were in the height of summer), seemed relatively safe. The garage has card access. There are lodge workers and lodge items stored in the garage parking areas.

Bed was on the soft side.

Bow View Lodge was a perfect location for us. We could walk to restaurants, museums, and public transportation. All of these were within a 10 minute walk. Our room had views of the Bow River and there was a walking trail along the river. We even decided to attend church because there was a cute Catholic Church right around the corner from us. (I highly recommend walking through the church to see its Canadian Rockies themed stained glass windows.) The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean.

Bow View Lodge is an older hotel and its age shows. There is no air conditioning and our room was frequently warmer than we would have liked. However, there was a fan in our room and by cracking the sliding door and putting the fan in it, we could cool the room down pretty quickly in the evening when we returned from our hikes.

This may not be the fanciest hotel in town, but the location is so good we have stayed here often. Good value for money and handy to have both coffee and a fridge in room

The location is perfect: next to the beautiful Bow River, close to the transit hub and downtown, supermarket, various restaurants, but was quiet. Although the hotel does not have restaurant, the next-door hotel (same owner perhaps) has a very good breakfast. If you choose not to wash towels, you're given $5 voucher per day to dine in that hotel. The hotel also offers free parking. This hotel is not a upscale and fancy one but the price is better than other nearby hotels and has all essentials. The staff cleaned the room very well everyday.

The room was hot and has no air conditioning. There was a small fan in the room. We replaced the thick blanket with thinner one provided in the room.

My second time staying at this property, adjacent and owned by the same group as The Banff Park Lodge (where I have also stayed) Lovely view of the Bow River from my balcony which was quite large although it has absolutely no privacy from the neighboring balconies. Room view just as good. Adequate sized room. Fridge good (the unit I had last year was so noisy I had to unplug it) Comfortable bed. Older building but clean. Friendly staff. Very short walk to several excellent restaurants.

Parking is tight at this spot. In fact, they gave me a spot in the neighboring and excellent underground parking beneath the Banff Park Lodge, which was mere steps away. Good deal because when staying at the actual Banff Park Lodge the parking is extra. Hotel is older. and it shows. That said, for the money, and for Banff (the name "Banff" is sometimes said to be an acronym for "Be Aware Nothing is For Free") it's a good deal.

A great location next to the Bow River and the trail that follows is through the town and on to Surprise Corner. A short walk into town to the shops and the tour buses. in the same group as Banff Lodge next door - access to swiming pool there included.

The hotel is looking a bit tired and in need of some investment and a refurbishment. Common areas in particular are looking in need of some attention. My room had peeling wallpaper in several places. Couldn't work out how the air con / heating worked or didn't.

Bow View Lodge is a well located budget hotel in Banff. A short walk to the river, the restaurants, supermarket and sites of Banff. Our room was clean, with two beds, comfy couch and a balcony. There is an offer to skip housekeeping and receive a discount voucher at the restaurant at the adjoining hotel. We used the room as a base for exploring Banff and the surrounds.

Location was excellent. Walking distance to the main street of Banff. Room was a really good size. It was really good to have access to a balcony as we had good weather. Parking onsite was easy.

We missed out on the river view side which was a shame but not the end of the world. No kettle in the room to make tea and the coffee machine was difficult to use. We could make tea and coffee in the foyer though which helped.
