April 2023

I stayed in this quiet clean inn on April 5, 2023. The place is about 20 minutes or so from the bridge to Quebec City. The house is old which is why I chose to stay there. The old part is being renovated and will be finished soon, but there is another modern section where I stayed that had a super heater, high quality bedding and its own toilet. There is also a kitchen and dining area that can sit about a dozen. For me, it was a special sight to see the old house. I also appreciated the easy going nature of the owner. The owner came to meet me and he had a great little visit and told me where things were and a little bit about one of the first settlements in Canada. I would stay here in a heartbeat again as it has old world charm and character in the old building that is very difficult to see otherwise. For me, it is a 5/5. Anything less would not suit my experience. It was signed well to get off the main road. I told my family about it and they will likely stop there when traveling through. In my view, we need to support such places as staying at x-chain hotel sends the money to corporate pockets (although I stay in hotel chains often as it is required by my job!!)

I had no problems.

The room and the inn were very beautiful. The site was very bucolic and surrounded by flowers, trees and fields. We had access to a kitchen that contained an oven, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker and dishes to accommodate us. There were also pick-nick tables outside to enjoy the scenery, and a place to build a fire in the evening. The employee was very friendly and welcoming. Finally, we got a good price for our stay.

Since this is an old building and it was damp outside, we found several earwigs in the room. Also, again, since it's an old building, it's not very well soundproofed. So, if roomies decide to party, it's not easy to fall asleep. Then, the kitchen and dining room were not always very clean. Finally, as the site is inland, there's no view of the water.

Beautiful setting of an old farmhouse/barn with gardens around. We had a large comfortable room - which may have been an old kitchen - there was an old cooking range in the room so lots of character - with small bathroom. The shared kitchen and eating area was great and coffee was provided which was much appreciated.

The shower cubicle was small but manageable. Might be a struggle if you are of more generous proportions...!

First of all, we loved the place at first sight, it is so cute! It is far from the road so it is quiet. You can easily park. The staff is very welcomig and helpful (lot of tips). I highly recommend :)

Nothing really. Just wanna share that we did not like at all the "restaurant de la plage" which was recommended by the staff. All other recommendations were on point :)

Nice location, access to kitchen and garden with hammocks. Nice rooms with great beds, easy check-in and out. Fantastic service and recommendations given by personell.

Somewhat over aggressive AC but worked really well. Slightly scary warning about coliform bacteria in the water (within acceptable limits).

The staff are very friendly , a family own business , they want to give the services to the clients to be happy and comfortable. The building is authentic and the owner maintains it in a good shape and the cleanness is fairly good. I had a pleasant stay . I will be back with more friends for more days .

Good communication from the staff, accessibility, comfort and ease within the booked room.

The communal kitchen wasn't very nice and there may have been signs above the sink that said not to drink the water? The signs were in French, but there was a picture with a glass of water with a line through it.

Cute unit, and location on island is very pleasant.

Ceilings are low for much of the unit. The men had to walk around and shower hunched over, so that reduced comfort level. The description could have noted this.

It is a beautiful grand old stone building that has been well renovated to accommodate all types of travellers. There is a gorgeous garden and a fire pit outside, and a large share kitchen. Our room was spacious and beautiful.

Loved the remote feel, quiet location, and historical structure. Room was spacious and comfortable.

Bathroom was very awkward: toilet and paper dispenser placement was cramped, the sink also. A tall person would not have fit—could be a real head-banger.
