Probably our best hotel in Costa Rica! (we were in 5 different hotels, and this was the best one). Right when you enter - the building is beautiful, and the rooms are also cozy, super clean, and very pleasant. The restaurant is insanely good, and decently priced - we ate there almost every day for breakfast (included!) and dinner. The one time we tried to eat in another place we regretted it because the hotel's restaurant was so much better. Staff is also super nice, and gave us great advices on what tours to do and what to skip. To keep it short - just book it! I highly recommend this place - we really loved it!

the laundry services are too expensive (but that's across all of Costa Rica). the restaurant gives you a receipt with an 'extra tip' line which is kinda misleading, because they already take 10% tip automatically, and they don't mention it to you. in other places they mentioned this explicitly.

This is a beautiful lodge, within walkable distance from the city center and restaurants. We were upgraded to keep our group together. The view from the back patio (picture included) was absolutely fantastic. There is a little garden with a stream running through it. The room was spacious with plenty of seating and storage. Water pressure in the bathroom is great. The property has an excellent restaurant with live music on some nights. There is also an orchid room with plenty of seating to just enjoy the flowers all around. We also used the spa and enjoyed our massages. The pool is small but heated. On one of the days, a whole bunch of white faced monkeys decided to visit us and all the guests watched the animals enjoying the trees around the property. I would recommend this lodge to everyone and would stay here again.

We had a large group so it's understandable that service at the restaurant would be challenging. We didn't appreciate that the one of the servers seemed annoyed only around our table and acted like it was a chore serving our group. A little hospitality and a smile would've been nice. We got unlucky that the same lady was our server on both days at the restaurant.

We enjoyed the spacious room with a beautiful view of the rainforest. Our room was at the end of the hall and had an extra special round window like a porthole on the exterior wall. That was a cool design feature. The bathrooms were very nice with pretty painted tile and a rain shower head. Maid service was twice daily, and we had a special chocolate treat delivered to our room on Valentine’s Day. That was a nice touch. The grounds and pool are gorgeous.

My children were disappointed that the rooms did not have a tv (but the adults were happy about this!). Otherwise, no negative comments.

The staff are all so friendly and helpful and we’re so welcoming when we arrived. Happy hour (30%off) on cocktails 430-6pm (not sure if this is everyday) The pool is lovely and hot >36C The rooms are as shown In the photos, maybe slightly smaller then you think but it wasn’t an issue

Not great value when comparing other hotels as it was fairly expensive. The trails are fairly short. There is a window in the bathroom of the room that looks into the hallway, although it’s obscured glass I thought this was odd

We had a great time at Monteverde Lodge & Garden – I booked the stay partly because of their environmental profile and partly because of all the buzz about their El Jardín restaurant, and the place totally lived up to our expectations: - A lovely room that opened up right out into a beautiful forest area with a little creek running outside - Nice walking paths around the place where kids can easily go exploring on their own - Amazing architecture; a lot of the place appears to have been built recently, and they have taken great care to combine aesthetically pleasing design with respect for the nature area around the place - Lovely outside relaxation areas (the pool is a bit small, so do don’t expect a huge resort-style water area here) with lots of animals (hummingbirds, coatis, porcupines etc.) - An absolutely fantastic restaurant; every single dish we had, from breakfast to dinner, was impressive so definitely choose this place if you’re a foodie!

The property is absolutely gorgeous and the rooms are very comfortable and clean. The hotel is beautiful and the food at the restaurant very delicious. Every morning they offer a complementary breakfast which is absolutely fabulous. The property has walking trails and you can see alot of the wild life on the property. The staff is very friendly and helpful and go above and beyond to help with anything you may need. Would definitely visit again.

The staff were very professional and accomodating. When you first arrive, they sit you down with a glass of juice and explain all the services the hotel provides. We also booked two tours with the front desk and it was added to our final bill. Very convenient. The restaurant was excellent and the grounds and gardens were beautiful and extensive. They even have a couple of trails to walk on the property.

Even though I felt the hotel was outstanding, the price was still a little "steepl"

Breakfast! Even though very delicious and tasty for the price we paid it should be possible to order a la cart whatever you want or to organize a buffet. Something to work on it.

On arriving the receptionist greeted us and immediately our luggage was taken to our room, we had a refreshing drink on arrival which was amazing as we had a long journey. The staff are all amazing Erik made us feel so welcomed every time we had something to eat. The food is superb could not fault anything a huge congratulations to all of you that run this hotel what an amazing job you all do. The hotel is located within walking distance to a lovely town, which has shops and restaurants. I would also highly recommend a night walk with the hotel just for the experience it was amazing. Thank for looking after us while we were with you, what a great start to our adventures.

Breakfast was phenomenal!!!! Healthy delicious fresh. So many options included. We got fruit and toast everyday and the typical Costa Rican breakfast with rice and beans, plantains, and eggs. Property is a paradise! So gorgeous. We were super close to town and all the attractions. We would spend the morning touring then the afternoon lounging by the pool. Then go out at night. The staff is super friendly and kind. The rooms are super super clean they would send someone to clean twice a day. Beds are soooo comfortable with nice fluffy comforter. This is a big deal to me! So many hotels don't have comforters and I find I can't sleep without their fluffy weight. This is a perfect combo with their nice cold AC. Note.. there is no TV in the room we used our iPad to watch TV when we wanted to relax in the room.

I think night room service can be skipped sometimes bc it allows bugs to get in the room. But this timing of the season there were no mosquitoes so depends on time of your stay. Put a sign on your door to avoid night service.
