It's a wonderful property located right in the historic centre with tons of character, beautifully curated rooms and furnishings, and an incredibly helpful & friendly staff. The vistas of Quito are fabulous and the rooftop breakfast/lounging area is beautiful. We initially had only booked for 1 night and planned to stay elsewhere when we returned to Quito later in the month. But once we arrived, we decided to cancel the other place and stay again at the Vista del Angel because it was so wonderful. Ultimately, we changed our travel plans and didn't return to Quito but if we had, we definitely would've stayed there again and the hotel was very gracious about allowing us to cancel our 2nd reservation.

The lack of forthcoming information of what to see in town or where everything was in the hotel. (I had to ask for everything which can sometimes feel a little intimidating and lead to uncertainty) I, personally, would have been supremely happy if there were some body lotion/moisturiser in the bathroom :) Everything was absolutely wonderful, it's just nice to be given information about restuarants, places to see, where everything is in the hotel before one has to ask.

The hotel and the location were amazing. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable, a heater is also available and they offered filtered water. The breakfast was fresh and good. We would book Vista del Angel again anytime as it was really perfect.

Just one little thing: the food that they offered was amazing but it was the same everyday (e.g. scrambled eggs everyday). Dinner and drinks are very expensive, too.We recommend going to some good local restaurants around. But of course dining with this view is something special.

Nearly all of Quito can be seen from this hotel, and the views are great during the day and fantastic at night. Breakfast there put our American establishments to shame. Vista del Angel provides a breakfast unlike any other hotel I have been to, from the elegantly presented fruit and cereal plate to the custom cooked eggs with ham and cheese with Cafe Americano. Breakfast was a true delight!

The thing that always accompanies great views is steep terrain, and Vista del Angel did not disappoint in the views it offered. Fortunately cab rides are cheap enough that we could walk downtown to various town squares and catch a cab back when we were tired. It was all good.

it’s a gorgeous building, Quito is very hilly so beware. the hotel is in/near the old town with some lovely old Spanish building near. close to the basilica. a short walk to nice restaurants however miles away from the cable car, centre of the world and a real good walk to the ‘main tourist’ region. the hotel is super secure and gated. which is good as Quito is classed as unsafe after dark. We felt fine but didn’t stay out after 9pm mainly as we had day tours planned which were early starts. a couple of the day tours had pick up points really close which was awesome. crazy good city views from the property! breakfast is insane to be included A****

Our room was internal with a window onto a corridor, however that corridor was entirely glass. it just meant we didn’t get a through draft to dry some clothes.

The views are amazing and the location is great, up a steep hill overlooking the historic center and easy walking distance (downhill) to everything. We took Ubers or occasionally taxis ($2 or less) to get back up the hill, which was super easy. Excellent breakfast. The staff was very nice. The hotel is in a special spot and we liked being perched here. We would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a hotel in the historic center.

There is little sound insulation but this didn't really bother us. The rooms are on the small side.

Lovely location near the historic centre with an amazing view over the city - but the icing on the cake has to be the superb and thoughtful service from the staff working there. James and Kerri went out of their way to help us organise trips, give us advice and organise transport. Our stay there was amazing and we made wonderful memories to last a lifetime! The daily breakfasts were a real treat and the restaurant had a great offer of dinner and drinks too !

Stunning building, beautiful decor, lots of steps and on a steep hill with great, really great views Dinner was great too, but not enough staff to assist the chef with serving great meals and serving drinks. Close to old town, but quiet and driving there is an experience on its own. Do try once to walk back up to the hotel! Highly recommend and we would book again!

breakfast was lovely, but very late. no service found for early risers and we surely missed coffee / tea station in the rooms or in the common areas. We would have been happy with a paid coffee machine to help ourselves early mornings seeing the sun rise over Quito. the bar and restaurant area was not staffed during the day or when coming back from exploring the city. an “honesty” system could help, or a mini bar in the room. Again the views are so stunning we wanted to relax and see the sun go down from the rooftop with a small drink. No staff to assist, which really was a shame. Most certainly this would NOT stop us from booking this hotel again. Location was perfect, the design and little details all great, so just go and stay.

The staff are exceptional. Very helpful with suggestions on places to eat and things to do, carrying luggage and calling taxis. Absolutely beautiful views from the restaurant (where breakfast is served) and beautiful hotel.

My sister and I stayed here twice. First time in the newer section, we had a king- sized bed. Very comfortable. 2nd time we were in the older section with twin beds. Not as comfortable. Older section is beautiful with tall ceilings and all new bathroom fixtures as in the new section. Shower is slippery so use caution!

The views are amazing, and the building and garden are charming. There are many cute alcoves and places to hang out. The breakfast was great, and the staff were very attentive.

It’s an easy walk down to the historic center, but as many people have mentioned, it’s quite a hike back up. It seems mostly safe to walk back, but rather isolated at night, so I wouldn’t walk it alone. The hot tub seemed so promising, but ended up being only lukewarm, so not very comfortable after a while, which was disappointing.
