The Banasterie is located in an amazing 500-year old home. It is well maintained and beautifully decorated. It’s charm lies with the owners (Fabrice & Veronique), the location, and the well preserved, authentic old-world vibe. It has just what you need. Things move at a slower, relaxed pace here. The hustle and business of the outside world fades away. The Banasterie is a wonderful respite from the modern world. The owners spoil you with personalized attention, light home cooked breakfasts and all-around amazing service. They made us feel like we belonged, like friends. We had all the space we wanted, but never had a problem finding assistance when needed - a hard balance to strike. Thank you for a wonderful stay Veronique & Fabrice. I highly recommend the Banasterie to anyone looking to stay in a place that makes them feel connected to the local surroundings. Avignon is a very special place. Staying at the Banasterie made it all the better!

I can’t complain about anything. We loved The Banasterie!

The location was perfect for exploring Avignon. The owners were very friendly and helpful, both with getting our very heavy bags up the steep narrow flights of stairs, with giving lots of advice regarding top places to eat and visit and with arranging a cab for our early morning departure. It was great to have air-conditioning in the hot weather we experienced in Avignon

The room had been nicely decorated, but we found it quite dark and at times difficult to see easily.

the owners were exceptionally helpful and friendly with suggestions for sight seeing and restaurants. the breakfast served in our sitting room was very convenient. the breakfast served in the common breakfast room was also pleasant with a chance to socialize. lovely well prepared breakfasts served every morning. the unit was exceptionally large with a sitting room/kitchen/ and a nice sized bathroom the location was superb - essentially around the block from the entrance to the Popes Palace and very close to the town square with its shops and restaurants

getting to our upper floor room required going up a narrow stone staircase with a loose hand rail.

Not a hotel but a 500 year old building cum bed and breakfast. The entire experience was one of warmth and hospitality. Breakfast is simple but perfect (coffee/tea to order, cheeses, home made marmalades and yoghurt, fresh juice and a sampling of breads. Fabrice and Veronique go out of their way to be helpful but give you as much privacy as you wish. Couldn't have. been a more pleasant experience.

Not a thing.

These hosts were two of the best hosts we’ve met so far. Not just welcoming, but genuinely friendly and enthusiastic. Their can-do-mentality results in delicious self made breakfast products like jams, yoghurt and granola. We loved their style in art and decoration. And they had plenty tips for sightseeing. Furthermore, we loved the kingsize bed! Not only the size but also the sturdiness of the matras.

It would have been perfect if the room was a tad bigger. After two night, it felt a bit jammed with our grocery bags, laundry bags and suitcases spread out on the floor. The cupboard was good for a couple of items but a more spacious room would’ve given us more room to breathe, figuratively speaking. We were warned for the low ceiling in the bathroom. That was really manageable. Next time, though, we choose a room where we can shower standing up, in stead of sitting in the bathtub. Great to have a bath though!

The owners were very accommodating & worked hard to meet all needs, including carrying heavy bags up stairs as there is no lift. A delicious breakfast was served each morning in our apartment. The presentation was very nice & the food was delicious. They offered advice on restaurants & sights & helped with arrangements. Very kind & gracious people!

The key to our apartment door was an old lock with brass key that was very tricky to open. We had to seek the owners help a couple of times to assist us. Toward the end of our stay, we were able to open our door but it still took some effort. It is a historical building so the key is fitting for keeping the historical context, but the key was a challenge for us.

It is a very cozy place in the center of beautiful Avignon but nevertheless very quiet. The hosts are very kind and know very well the better restaurants in the city. We would recommend the place if you visit the very attractive theater festival of Avignon! The location has a pleasant roof terrace where you can relax after your strolls in the city.

Although you are not allowed to smoke within the location there is also a very small courtyard. Unfortunately a few guest were smoking here and than the smell easily spreads to higher levels as well. We would recommend the owners to not allow smoking at all or to limit it to the roof terrace.

We had a most wonderful time in La Banasterie. The hosts Fabrice and Veronique are absolutely wonderful, warm and so very friendly. We were welcomed so warmly when we checked in, with Veronique introducing all the excellent restaurants in Avignon for us. Fabrice was ever so cheerful and warm. Their homemade breakfast is absolutely delicious and we were so lucky to be fed their healthy and scrumptious breakfast every morning. Everything is so clean too! The location of the hotel is amazing too - so super central and very close to the Palais des Papes. It is truly like a home away from home and we will be back.

This was one of our favourite stays in France and I can't recommend it enough! Veronique and Fabrice were the most welcoming, lovely and helpful people and really made our stay exceptional. Nothing seemed too much bother for them and they were always ready to help with a smile on their face. The place it's absolutely charming and packed with character. Super clean and cozy, with a bit of history showing everywhere you look. Great attention to details! We absolutely loved our room! Although located in the old town in the city center with everything at your doorstep, La Banasterie is on a quiet and peaceful little street. Although both me and my husband are light sleepers we actually had the best night sleeps here at La Banasterie thanks to being incredibly peaceful and also to the amazingly comfy bed we had. The bed really is a dream! Breakfast was exquisite! So much variety and high quality food. We had cheese selection, home made yoghurt, home made muesli, frui salad, pastries and eggs every morning. That's what we chose to have but there was so much more. The hosts were so attentive even during breakfast making sure everyone is happy. Thank you for making our trip so memorable and for helping out with all the lovely restaurants as well. Can't recommend this place enough and we are hoping to come back. By far the best B&B!

Fabrice was extremely friendly and gave us a great welcome and introduction to Avignon, running through a tourist map he gave us, asking what kind of thing we'd like to do and circling things on the map for us, making an excellent recommendation for where to book dinner for us as vegetarians. He even carried our heaviest bags up the stairs to our room. Lovely building. Comfortable bedroom and en suite. Good aircon in the room. The breakfast was also lovely, and Veronique was very helpful in ordering us a taxi to the train station at checkout.
