The hostess was charming and helpful and went beyond her role to assist us with queries. Location great for exploring the Old and New Town. Excellent breakfast. Rooftop lounge with view to the Citadel an extra treat.
The bath-shower room had no fan so towels did not dry and there was a constant smell of mould. The stairs to 3 floors of bedrooms are narrow and with no other means of access to the bedrooms this makes the accommodation not to be recommended to older visitors with heavy luggage. Directions to parking and the hotel need to be better as it is in a one-way street and the parking is in an adjacent street (but with alley access between them).

The room was comfortable and super clean with all we needed.. Breakfast was delicious and we ate it on the little roof top terrace from which we could see the castle. The lady who runs the chambre d''hote is kind and welcoming.. After a bad experience we arrived late and she immediately made us feel at ease and welcome. The accommodation is in a small pedestrianised street very near to the castle , restaurants and 15 minutes from the canal du midi so ideal for us..Coffee is provided on the rooftop terrace all day long. Parking was a free public car park at 5 minutes walk and recommended by the host. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this lovely chambre d'hote.
We liked everything. We were there in a very hot week and the host supplied a fan.

Perfect location, right in between the city centre and the medieval castle, both within 15 min walk. Free parking in the nearby street. The room was clean spotless, as well as the bathroom. Huge TV that we didn't watch as we stayed for one night only, and comfortable bed. Cute rooftop terrace where you can help yourself to tea or coffee and take a moment to yourself. Breakfast, albeit continental, was delicious and ample. But most of all, the lady that hosted us is wonderful. She is very attentive and thoughtful. Even though she does not speak English, she uses the translation app on her phone for communication. I would stay there again, and I warmly recommend it to others who want a homely, comfortable stay. I forgot to ask the lady's name but you have our big thank you from the heart. :)
There was a festival in the city the night we stayed so heard some people walking pass and shouting ocasionally during the night but that's no fault of the host. In terms of our stay and the way we were hosted, there is absolutely nothing we didn't like.

First and foremost, the location is spectacular. The host has a beautiful heart, and although he doesn't speak English, she tries her best to communicate with us. God bless google Translate. She was attentive and gave us the feeling of being cared for. The breakfast was beautiful, prepared fruit and yoghurt, bread and butter with Jam, and a delicious croissant. Fruit juice and a choice of coffee or teas. She noticed that my partner didn't enjoy the tea the first morning with fresh tea leaves, and the next morning, she had provided an English tea bag. That, for me, is a sign of a great host. The room was beautiful, a traditional French house with shutters on the windows, felt almost movie like when hanging out of the window to see the castle the one end and the church the other. The shower was strong and hot. The bed was very comfy. There is tea and coffee on the rooftop terrace that you can help yourself to as and when. Ypur provided with a key to the front door and one to your room. This is a must if you are visiting Carcasonne. We loved our stay and haven't stopped reminiscing about it. Thank you so much for making our trip so special.
I liked it all, it was perfect for us.

Brigitte was a star. She speaks very little English but was so charming & helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She recommended a lovely French restaurant on the same street which was very good. We loved the rooftop terrace. A perfect place for a coffee (tea coffee & sweets provided) a glass of wine and a pleasant chat with other guests. Although our room was not large it had a very comfortable bed with memory foam mattress, fans, plug points and a lovely clean bathroom. Breakfast consisted of fruit juice, bowl of chopped fresh fruit, yoghurt, bread, croissant, home made jam & tea or coffee. The portions were so large I had to ask for half the amount the second day. The location was superb, only a 5 min walk to the old city. I would certainly use this b@ b again
It was very hot when we stayed so air con would have Improved our stay. Otherwise nothing

Excellent location, down a quiet side street with views of la cité from the rooftop terrace. Room was spacious clean and comfortable. Breakfast is served to you a little tray by Madame, croissants, bread, jam, yogurt and juice. ( I don't think she speaks much english). Rooftop terrace a nice touch, with coffee, tea and water available, and a nice spot to sit.
More towels would be great, but apart from that I can't chunk of anything.

The hostess, Brigitte, wonderful lady! Think she may be the owners mum! She can't speak any english, but she makes up for that in her lovely, warm manner, and also using google translate, asking if everything is ok, and telling you to enjoy yourself! We enjoyed being on the rooftop terrace in the evenings, with the tea/ coffee/ water and sweets that are there for the guests. You can (but we didn't) have a lovely breakfast there too! The rooms are good and clean, with free wifi, comfortable memory foam bed, TV, toiletries, and a fan!! Would definitely recommend this charming little hotel, a great position to explore the city, a 10-15min walk to the entrance of the castle going across the old bridge. A 5 min walk to the town centre! And the shuttle bus stop to/from the airport is literally round the corner! €6 each way!
They're doing some road and path improvements in the street! That's the only bad thing!

The property is typical small, French terraced property with an authentic charm. The location is absolutely ideal if your plan is to explore the Cité during the day. Turn right out of the front door and the street runs straight on to the Pont Vieux which takes you to the West gate. Dining in the central square and surrounding streets of the 'new' city in the evening is easy, being just a 10 minute stroll if you turn left out of the door. The landlady speaks no English but we got by just fine with our basic French (with a bit of help from Google Translate) and she is really helpful. On the first morning part of the breakfast was a bowl of freshly chopped fruit. Unfortunately I'm allergic to bananas and so she prepared me a fresh bowl from scratch without them, and the following day there were no bananas in sight! :-) The view of the illuminated Cité from the roof terrace makes the perfect backdrop to end the evening with a drink before bed. If you're looking for a 'Holiday Inn' with a reception desk and English speaking staff then the Hotel Les Chevaliers a hundred yards away would probably be the best bet for you but, if you're after a stay in a homely house and to experience real French hospitality then dust off your schoolboy French, and this place will fit the bill perfectly. Bon Voyage!
Whilst we were there in mid-June 2023 there were roadworks around Square Gambetta and the street outside the property was being resurfaced with beautiful new cobble setts and so access was a bit like a building site but this was no fault of the property and I'm sure that by early July this will be completed and the street will look stunning. Also, it wasn't a problem for us but the stairs are quite small and steep so it's worth bearing this in mind if you have lots of large luggage.

Easily accessible from the railway station and very close to the old town of Carcassonne (literally across the bridge at the end of the road) with views of same form a rooftop terrace. which has a coffee maker and kettle for refreshments. Spacious and comfortable room to spread out in which is furnished to a high standard. Welcoming and friendly host who prepared an impressive breakfast of chopped fruits, bread, croissant, jam, yoghurt and fresh coffee. Art gallery is literally round the corner and highly recommended.

Rooftop terrace where you could make a tea or coffee, with a view of the citadel. Comfortable bed. Simple but ample good quality breakfast. Good value for money.
We were in the top room accessed by three flights of stairs. OK if you have very light luggage. It was also very hot in the room. We struggled to find the car park from the directions provided but we parked free of charge on the road by the river, just a couple of hundred yards away
