It was a pleasure to stay at Au Coer des Vignes, a proper Chambres D'hôtes. Chantal is a very kind and thoughtful host, and with our basic school French we managed to have many helpful and enjoyable conversations together. On arrival she gave us a wonderful welcome, and a clear explanation of how everything worked. The accommodation is in a two storey annex near to Chantal and José's own home, with five chambres. Our room was perfect for us. Beautifully decorated. Very comfortable king size bed, great walk in shower, high pressure and lots of hot water. Ample storage space. The shared decking area was a few steps away at the rear of the building, and a perfect place to enjoy a last glass of the day watching the warming sun go down over the vines of Pinot Noir. Downstairs was a delightful breakfast room cum kitchen, which we made good use of. Chantal was very attentive to ensure we had a good first meal of the day, laying on orange juice, good coffee, breads, pastries jams, and cheese. The location is great for Épernay centre and the champagne houses - whether you take the car - 5 mins, or go on foot - 25 mins (the last hundred yards on the return is up a bit of a steep hill). With no hesitation we would recommend this place, and hope we can return one day.

There was nothing that we didn't like.

We were just here for one night travelling through France on our way back home. We received a friendly welcome and were able to park on site. We stayed in a comfortable, well-appointed room at the top of the house with a nice view of vines. Good range of food for breakfast. 20 minute walk for something to eat in the evening. The house was full of other guests, so it was good to converse with them.

Would have appreciated a bigger bed but it was perfectly adequate.

We had such a lovely stay in this beautiful, house in Champagne, which backs on to a vineyard and has secure, gated parking in the garden. Chantal and her husband were exceptionally welcoming and friendly and we were treated like V.I.P.s from arrival until departure. The house is spotlessly clean and exceptionally comfortable. We both slept like logs. The ensuite bathroom was large and well-equipped and the shower was very powerful. Breakfast was a traditional French breakfast mix of breads, pastries, confitures, yoghurts, fruit, fruit juice, tea/coffee. We were offered a large selection of fine teas from which to choose. Delicious! Chantal is a very charming woman and super friendly. It was a pleasure to meet her. She made our stay an absolute delight. We will certainly return and stay for longer next time and we would wholeheartedly recommend Au Couer de Vignes.

Nice view over the vines and good location on the edge of the time. Good breakfast and adequate parking.

Quite a climb to the second floor room with heavy bags. Friendly but slightly fussy host - we don't really need to hear complaints about previous guests or the "English" wanting fresh milk in their coffee! That said, I very much enjoyed my coffee without any milk...

Room very cluttered with knick knacks, cushions and extraneous bits and pieces which made it less spacious than it could have been. Poly cotton bed linen and slightly dodgy decor. Also, a long way from anywhere nice to eat - we walked about 20 mins each way in the cold.

Had a lovely stay. Nice location. Very quiet during the night. Room with views over vineyard. Very clean. Chantal was very nice and tried her best to help in any way. Breakfast was lovely. Good walk to town, about 20 mins but on a bus route.

A perfect stop over on our way to the south. Our host was very welcoming. There are high standards at this property- cleanliness/comfort/decoration/amenities. There is a lovely terrace to enjoy- we just wish we had more time to spend there. Breakfast was enjoyable- lots of delicious breads/ pastries/cheese and more. The local area was lovely- a town full of shops and places to eat. Not too far to walk but short of time we drove (just a few minutes to the centre). Thank you again to great hosts. Chantal was great company too.

Very friendly reception by the owner. She made a lot of effort to make us feel at home and even bought special milk bread for our 3 year old daughter to eat and arranged a little departure gift for her as well. Rooms and bathroom are super clean and in order. Location is on a quiet street at the edge of Epernay and you park your car behind the house. The whole premise is closed off by a remotely operated fence so you don't have to worry about the champagne in your car. Backside there is a terrace with view of the vines where you can stay in the evening and see the sun set behind the hill.

Love the terrace with a gorgeous view of the vineyard!!! Chantal was very accommodating to serve us breakfast at the terrace upon our request. Wish I had more time to enjoy the tranquil, serene surrounding here. The house is spick and span. Witnessed every dining chair being cleaned and sanitized after breakfast hours. Level of cleanliness is top notch !!! Would definitely recommend !

Lovely setting up on a hill, next to a vineyard, overlooking Epérnay. Very friendly cordial staff and delicious breakfast. We enjoyed our walk among the vines.

Our room was on the second (3rd in U.S. terminology), up a very steep staircase, and was very small. those details were not shared in the reservation details. Our friends’ room was on the floor below, with one flight of normal stairs and a spacious room, which they enjoyed.
