This nice lodging is in a countryside setting, near the Somme Battlefield and the Australian Memorial from WW1, which is why I came to this area, to visit these places. The room looks out onto a pretty green lawn, with a cherry tree and fresh cherries at this time of year. The breakfast was delicious and more than enough, with breads, croissants, jams, yoghurt, granola, fresh fruit, and hot coffee and tea, as well as a cute cup with an egg. They also offer, if you request, a Finnish bath, an outdoor hot tub heated with a wood stove. It takes a few hours for them to get the water warm, so I requested this during breakfast, and it was ready that afternoon. It was very relaxing to be in the warm/hot water. The bath is on a wooden platform with easy-to-climb stairs, so there is a great view of the pretty country side. Birds singing, a pair of ducks, and nice hosts and guests all make this a wonderful place to stay.

Nothing. Everything was just fine:)

The of the property was wonderful. Beautiful gardens, ponds and view. Our room was nice and clean and had everything we needed for a night’s stay. Fridge, microwave, kettle and basic meal preparation equipment were provided. The bed was very comfortable. The owners were warm and friendly.

Not just this property but others we have stayed at, the option of some lighter bedding during the warmer months would be appreciated.

The rooms are set up, so you are facing a beautiful landscaped garden with a lake in the middle and ducks walking around. At the end of it you can see the river. Unfortunately it was pouring with rain, so we couldn't take advantage of the various lovely seating areas in the garden. The rooms are separate from the host house, which gives it some privacy. The hosts are very friendly and we had a lovely breakfast at the main house. You can walk the dog near the house, which made it all a very nice experience.

The room and bed are on the smaller side. This is not a critique just for future guests to be mindful to keep dogs on the lead when stepping out of the room since birds are walking around near by and in plain view.

Review from experienced travellers: A great little studio apartment, a treasure in a sleepy corner of the Somme valley. Cosy and quiet apartment with basic facilities, peaceful garden area and great breakfast to set you up for the day ahead. Friendly and helpful host. Internet OK but uses old technology and needs updating.

It was just delightful staying here. An oasis of calm and beauty in the countryside to just relax. Valerie was so friendly and helpful. her replies to all communications were prompt. We’ve been travelling for a a month, and this was the best place we’ve stayed. We came specifically to meet friends to attend the dawn Anzac Remembrance Ceremony of the WW1 battles that were fought along the Somme. We couldn’t get accommodation in Villers- Bretonneux and finding this place was just a stroke of luck! Valerie even accommodated our request to put on a delicious charcuterie plate for our friends who came over to enjoy the patio and beautiful huge garden with ducks, geese, and a fishing pond. If we pass this way again, coming back is a sure thing. THANK YOU VALERIE

It was a beautiful property, my dream house. The accommodation was the best I’ve ever stayed in . Really can’t say enough, we we’re only there one night on the way home, but it’s the only place we stayed at, that we will be revisiting for a holiday hopefully. It was January, it’d be twice as beautiful in the summer. Great place for our dogs to exercise too. Perfect. Should be 10/10.

Peaceful and reflective location convenient for visiting First World War cemeteries and very warm welcome from host. Facilities in room to have our own food which was welcome, as after a long drive, we did not feel like driving too much further for supper. Exceptional breakfast.

The warm welcome, the so helpful lady owner, even calling a local restaurant to book us a table. Fantastic clean and spacious room. The bed was so comfortable. Kettle, microwave and plates. Beautiful outdoor views of the lake. If we come back to the area we will definitely stay here again. One night was not enough. Oh, and the breakfast was fabulous.

All was great

Breakfast was good.

It was not in the village but right outside. Needs to be called at Bouzencourt. I was only able to get around thanks to other residents.
