We loved everything about The Hotel Florentine! this is a spectacular hotel, with the warmest, most attentive staff and and divine restaurant. Suiite #11 is very comfortable with a lovely large marbled bathroom, We had wrap around windows with fabulous views overlooking the magical, storied city of Lyon. Kevin at the front desk was especially kind and welcoming form the moment we huffed up the hill (the road was temporarily closed) The spa is small but well-appointed and just perfect for a day's respite after much sightseeing. The pool wonderful and warm. The location is up the hill, so there will be a bit of a walk, but the view is quite a reward! Breakfast was perfect, the fruit out of this world and having the abililty to have coffee/tea in your room is alwasy appreciated. The nightly turn down service was sweet with tasty local treats. What tasty plums! And do not miss the Michelin starred restaurant~ divine! Definitely our favorite in France and we spent the rest of the week at the Le Vaca in glamourous St. Tropez. Stay here, it's the best hotel in Lyon we were told and I truly believe it! Thank you Kevin and crew. We would love to be back soon. Last point, clearly everyone who works there is proud of their hotel, from the amazing 15th century murals to the local delicacies on offer, we could not have felt more welcomed.

Great Location, Amazing Pool and view. Super outdoor space for seating by the pool. We had 2x Deluxe rooms with amazing private terrace space... Rooms were spacious and meticulously clean. Great staff all the way from bell service to front desk, concierge, room cleaning, service staff. Food by the poolside was delicious. We had omelets 2 days in a row at breakfast, they were textbook, really one of the best I had.

Negatives: Furniture in the rooms are outdated. Toilet is separate from Main Bathroom / Shower. Feels cramped. Wifi Spotty at times, especially in the room.

The staff were very polite and willing to help in any way possible. Reminded me of the Ritz Carlton

The location was difficult to access. To go to town you had to walk down very steep stairs and a hundred of them. Back up was worse. No public transportation would get you close to the hotel. Getting a taxi or Uber was our only method of getting to and from town to the hotel. So if you want to go out for dinner, add another 40.00 to the cost of the meal. For the ,money charged per night they should offer a car service up and down the hill for the guests.

Excellent staff, beautiful room.

We ate at the hotel restaurant on both nights of our stay. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice with a view overlooking Lyon. The wait staff was very efficient and friendly. I was disappointed with the chef's limited ability to accommodate my dietary restrictions given the caliber of the restaurant and the advance notice I had given. Every other chef during our two week trip was able to make adjustments to the menu to accommodate me without any problem.

The hotel is quite exceptional! The views over Lyon, everything about the hotel and staff who were really obliging and helpful made our short stay so enjoyable. It is difficult to imagine anything else we could have wanted to improve our stay.

We didn’t eat in the restaurant as we felt it was lacking in ambiance and we wanted to experience ‘old Lyon’. A bar space indoors could be in a more central area. The bar on the terrace was perfect for an afternoon/ evening drink but is obviously dependant on the weather.

The building is magnificent with glorious views. Our room was wonderful with a big comfy bed and windows overlooking Lyon and the hotel pool. The staff were very attentive and took care of everything we needed. The dinner in the restaurant was delicious and the service excellent.

The breakfast is served either in a small room (that isn’t the hotel’s best feature) or outside on the terrace ( where there aren’t many tables). The selection of food for breakfast was adequate but limited.

This unique property exceeded our expectations. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. We appreciated the history behind the facility. We were treated like royalty throughout our visit and if given the opportunity would race to return.

We were visiting on a Sunday and Monday and unfortunately the restaurant in the hotel was closed. However the staff were kind enough to open the bar near the pool just for us!

The hotel & rooms were very clean, the staff were very accommodating. The pool was well positioned with wonderful views across the city. The hotel itself was very, very nice. Well located just above the old town of Lyon so ideal to explore this part of the city, which is the best part of Lyon by far.

The pool surface needed a fresh lick of paint The restaurant was not open on the Sunday and Monday night that we stayed which was a little disappointing. The room style/design appeared a little dated, though this could be a French period they are purposely trying to achieve in reflection of the rest of the hotel (see photos). A point to note is it is above the old town on a hill, so expect to walk up a few stairs if you are not in a taxi.

It is so lovely, comfortable and has amazing views of the town. The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive and will help you with whatever you need. It is very relaxing with balcony areas, outdoor seating and the pool and spa. The breakfast was not included but has a really good breakfast if you choose to have this. There is an on site restaurant which you should book ahead for. It is a short walk to other restaurants and shops. highly recommend

if you are traveling by metro and walking with your luggage, be prepared to walk up lots of stairs as it is based high up on the hill - recommend walking up the ones to the right side of the property, the left side steps are very steep! you can get there more easily via bus to walk up the road or via taxi to the hotel door

A true Villa in every sense of the word. What a great hot with an amazing view and an amazing restaurant. The staff was incredible and especially Kevin Nguyen ho made our stay extra special. What a great host he was. This stay far exceeded our expectations and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else while visiting Lyon
