The hotel was within a very easy walk from Hamburg central station. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The room was nicely decorated in a traditional style and it was a good size. The temperature of the room was perfect, everything was extremely clean and the beds were soooo comfortable. A thoroughly enjoyable stay!

I liked being on the top floor but I wished my suitcase wasn't so heavy as I had to drag it up the stairs. The street outside my windows was a bit noisy but I didn't need to use the earplugs that were provided. The shower was a bit on the small side but all in all everything was great.

A very nice little hotel with an old-world touch and an extremely helpful and friendly elderly receptionist. The room facilities and cleanliness were faultless, we did not try the breakfast. Late check in due to train arrival was no problem at all, we were given an code to unlock the main door and the room was ready.

Unfortunately the room did not have air conditioning and the fan did not work on our first night due to a bad plug socket. We had to vent the hot air from the previous tropical days all night through a window open wide. Unfortunately the street in front of the hotel was very busy all night, homeless people were fighting and shouting, in the morning we found them sleeping on the stairs to the hotel. The area around the main station is a bit wild, but that's probably everywhere in big cities.

The hotel is extremely cozy and feels a bit like traveling back in time. It was extremely clean, the room was spacious, and the beds were comfortable. There was also a coffee machine in the room, and the WiFi worked well. The location is extremely convenient. We didn't have breakfast, but I ate lots of the candy from the reception, oh, the little things! :-) On top of everything, the crème de la crème was the host. The loveliest man! He made us feel very welcome, explained where to go sightseeing, and made sure we were comfortable.

However, the location is a bit shady—this isn't the hotel's fault, as it's expected around the main station. I wouldn't recommend wandering around that area at night alone as a woman - daytime was OK. There was a lot of noise from the street at night. I slept well anyway, but I suggest earplugs for light sleepers. Additionally, there's no elevator, which might be inconvenient if you have a lot of luggage.

We had a wonderful welcome at the hotel. They were so friendly, attentive and helpful throughout our stay. The room and bathroom was great. Really cosy and the bed lined was fresh, cosy and clean. The coffee and tea making facility was great. Really happy with our room. The hotel is right next to the main train station so made it easy to get around and also we were able to jump on the red bus to tour the city right outdoor the station.

Very charming, old-world small hotel in a convenient location to the main train station. The room had a foyer, bathroom, bedroom, coffeemaker, TV, and armoire. It included Wi-Fi. There was a breakfast area downstairs. The breakfast cost a little extra, but it was very good. I appreciated that the host also made gluten-free options available. Everything was clean, quiet, secure, and tasteful. I'm glad I stayed here because I needed easy access to the Hauptbahnhof.

Being close to the main train station, there were some "characters" on the street. This is no fault of the hotel whatsoever, and it's probably a sign of the changing times. Just keep this in mind, the immediate area isn't ideal for a late-night stroll. Inside the hotel, it's secure and charming. The price was excellent and you're about 1.5 blocks from the train station as well as the U-Bahn.

The fact that it's around the corner from the train station already makes it a great location. The street itself that the hotel is on is not the greatest, but the hotel itself is clean, nicely decorated and perfect for a night or two in Hamburg.

Not the nicest street in Hamburg, but that's to be expected being basically across the street from the main train station. I would stay here again when passing through for a night or two. There's no elevator, which can be a drag when having to carry your luggage upstairs. But hey, it's an older building, nothing they can do about it.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Very pleased with my room - bigger than I expected and with a generously sized en-suite bathroom. Although close to the main railway station (I could see it from my room) it was a quiet location so I was very pleased with my choice. In the mornings there was a good breakfast (more choices than are shown in the photos on Booking.com) so I certainly didn't start the day feeling under-fed! It was handy location from which to explore the places I had picked out to visit, using a combination of walking and U-Bahn.

Especially the bed and the coffee machine were outstanding! ☺ There was a classic electric kettle (induction) for making hot water for either coffee, tea or perhaps cocoa - and further more a coffee machine using small coffee shots to make a very tasty cup of coffee (espresso, normal coffee etc.). The bed was very fine to lie in ...... etc. ☺ .... a very comfortable bed. Nice old room with an atmosphere - nice service at the recepton. ☺

Hmmmm - the floor was creaking a lot in the corner at the cabinet in the main room (the bedroom). But we survived ... ;o)

I loved the quirky touches, the comfortable rooms and the relaxed atmosphere. The nice Christmas decorations gave a nice look to the lobby and the dining room too. The staff were all very helpful and cheery too which helps visitors feel welcome. I would highly recommend this hotel to friends, family and visitors.

Only negative thing I would mention is there is no lift up to the higher floors.

Great location, directly at the central station but still quiet and safe inside. Host was very friendly and you got one bottle of water free of charge every day. Comfortable bed, different pillows to choose from, a little kettle and coffee machine in the room. Ear plugs, soap, shoes for your room and a hairdryer were provided.
