loved the convenience. we drove to the hotel from southern germany. the immediate streets were wide and not busy. the streets were quiet. our room looked onto the outdoor courtyard, also quiet. Breakfast was wonderful. Parking was already full (minimal space) and our large van wouldn't have fit anyway. Sparkasse Parking was easy enough and only 100m north. They kept our luggage so we didnt have to leave it in the parked car and risk the car getting broken into. Most of the staff was very kind. We are happy we stayed here and will stay again. Breakfast was great. Eggs, bacon, toast, ham/cheese butter nutella, yogurt bar, apples, cucumber tomato salad, coffee, hot chocolate AND a kids play area.

The staff is super friendly, the room was nice and had basic but enough for a couple of days. The good part of the location is that it is close to the Belgian Quarter either good bars around.

The rooms dont have A/C and the area is too noisy so in summer is not convenient to sleep with the open windows. The breakfast is poor, they offer rotten fruit and don’t refill the menu.

It is good for family travellers, rooms are clean, breakfast is also ok.. definitely recommended:)

Just very loud from people outside, but is normal if you are in a big city. :) Also the parking, you have to book a reservation for your parking in advance. parking areas in the hotel is just 7cars so it might end up you don’t get one. But no worries there is close parking area for like 500m for 20€ per day.

Wonderful stay here. The hotel and room was clean. Our breakfast was included and was a really nice spread. More than just continental. We really enjoyed the rooftop terrace and there's also an outdoor seating area on the ground floor. Family friendly (had toys/games to entertain kids) and good location. Would recommend and stay here again.

There wasn't enough parking on site so we had to park in a parking garage nearby. Wasn't a huge deal but with all the luggage would have been nice to have on site parking.

Excellent location in downtown Köln, very close to main railway station and with access to many restaurants and stores. The facilities are generous in public areas, and there is very nice internal garden/terrace as well. Rooms are very convenient for families or small groups. (We had no chance to taste the breakfast, yet the staff provided us with generous luch boxes very early in the morning, before our departure.). Additionally colorful charts in the corridors show interesting information and stories of other guests, in a very cozy mood. We certainly recommend this Hostel!

The bathrooms need some attention. There was a constant sewage like stench in the bathroom and even air freshners were not enough to get rid of it.

Location is perfect and near to the shopping markets plus it was very close to the underground and transportation means. the breakfast was nice and smart. Room was large but no more facilities like ironing or coffee/tea set.

No Iron and table , No coffee/tea making set in addition to the noise coming from the restaurants in the down street. so in principle the hotel missed the options to be given to the customers so that it can upgrade themselves.

Great location, ideal for families, centrally located between Neumarkt and Rudolphplatz, near to trains and trams. Great staff and the continental breakfast is fresh and tasty. Local shop and lovely Italian restaurant across the street. Vegan restaurant (we weren't in here) and Steak House restaurants nearby, both very busy!! Other restaurants nearby - pizza, kebab, Polish bar / restaurant, Asian. Hostel Köln is 5 minutes walk from the shopping area in Neumarkt and 10 minutes walk from the Cathedral area. Excellent location to use as a base for sightseeing, trams literally 2 minutes away and the train 5 minutes away. Buses and taxis also. For cyclist dedicated cycle lanes everywhere. For families - laundrette 10 minutes walk, public pool 12 minutes walk, small kids park on the way to the laundrette. Staff at Hostel Köln were very friendly and helpful, great local knowledge and they all spoke English which is helpful when your German is ropey!! Use the information leaflets at reception - especially the 'Cologne City Map' with an excellent train map included, study the train map and you won't go wrong! Will definitely be back to Cologne and to the Hostel Köln.

Would have benefitted from air con, but the weather was exceptionally warm, but plenty of windows for fresh air.

Great location for the Christmas markets. Breakfast was good and runs from 7 am until noon. The beds were comfortable.

It is noisy during the market time outside the place. The room was warm even with the radiators off, so we kept the window open until the noise was too much Once closed, the room was quiet.

The location of the Hostel was pretty good, with a tram station not far away. We are used to walking, so we were mostly walking to all the sights. The room was nice and clean. Soap and everything available as it should be. The breakfast had a good variety of choices to make sandwiches or having something warm like scrambled eggs and bacon. In comparison to other places the price was also good.
