The hotel is in a great location good clean nice rooms

The staff on the 18 and 19th of June were all but one lady in the breakfast area absolutely unfriendly and incapable. They always told you what they can't do and what they are not responsible for, absolute joke. Takes a lot of the very good things away the hotel has to offer

The hotel was fine.

That they contacted me and asked me to pay a month in advance even though I had booked through the booking.com app and so had reserved the room. They said if I didn't pay they would cancel the booking and I would be charged in any event. The lift was out of order

The hotel was in an excellent location and the lobby area was welcoming and cosy. We loved the breakfast, lots on offer and good quality and the breakfast area was equally welcoming and relaxed. The room and facilities were clean and we were provided with sparkling water each day. Lots of space for our luggage and nice lighting/lamps which again gave a cosy feel to the room. Comfortable pillows. The staff were friendly and spoke English perfectly which was a big help. We received a thank you gift when checking out which was lovely. Despite the busyness of the Christmas markets just 5 minutes walk away, the street of the hotel was always quiet and felt very safe.

There was no kettle or tea/coffee in the room which we hadn’t realised and there was also no access to English-speaking TV channels when we tried them. There was often a long wait for the elevator. My partner found the bed uncomfortable as it sloped down at the sides.

Room was large and comfortable and clean. We had a good view, being able to see the spires of the cathedral, which was only a 15 minute walk away. Staff were very helpful, looking after our bags on our early arrival, and allowing us to leave the bags during our last day, until we left later in the day. A good variety of food available for breakfast was available, with the staff being happy to help. The hotel is in a great location for the cathedral, the Ludwig Museum, the railway station, the river, and many bars and restaurants, not forgetting the chocolate museum a walk along the riverside.

Not really a negative, just a firm bed, which is not really to my backs liking!

The room was clean, tidy, nicely decorated, had good facilities. The shower was lovely, didn't want to get out of it! The size of the room was just enough for a short stay seeing as during the day I was out exploring the city.

The pillows were a bit thin and didn't have much filling in them, the hotel does have a pillow menu but being as I was only there for the weekend I didn't bother. Also would have been nice if there was a kettle with some tea/coffee supplies but it wasn't the end of the world, there are plenty of cafe's nearby.

Excellent location - veru close to the retail areas and about 15 mins walk to the Dom. Fantastic cafes and restaurants close by but still very quiet. The hotel has a lovely bar area with places to relax and the staff were all very friendly and professional. Travelling alone these things are important!

A slight quirk before I arrived when instead of the payment being taken via Booking.com as advertised, the hotel asked me to use a link to pay direct. This was to avoid credit card cancellation through charge back. This is not made clear at time of booking so the hotel and Booking.com need to be more transparent. I had to call the hotel to make sure it wasn't a scam.

When we arrived the receptionist Walid was very kind & welcoming. Our flight to Cologne was two hours late so it was after midnight when we arrived. We were thirsty & tired. He served us a cold beer & showed us our rooms which were on the top floor. To our utter amazement there was a beautiful chapel called the Adolph Kepling Kappelle next to our room. As a Catholic Christian I like to spend some time in prayer & meditation & to find this facility in a hotel was truly wonderful. The location & price, so close to the magnificent Cologne cathedral meant we got great value for our money.

One receptionist was very abrupt when I asked him if he could recommend a good restaurant in the neighbourhood.

The location is close to a shopping mall, 8 minutes from the Cologne Ice bar and 15 minutes walking to Centraal Station. The room was clean, spacious with plenty of outlets and lights. The staff were friendly and central station is about 15 minutes walking distance. By taxi, central station is about 5 minutes, so great stay for travelers.

The breakfast buffet is great, they offer coffee, eggs, bacon, yogurt, cheese and pancakes, however, they ran out of pancakes fast.

We were looking for a quiet place, and this hotel is situated in an exceptionally quiet environment, at just 15 min. walk from the main railway station. We had booked an economy double room (18 sq. m., bed width 140 cm) but we were spontaneously upgraded to a classic double room (22 sq m., bed width 180 cm), which was much more comfortable. The breakfast buffet had a great variety and was delicious. The staff was very kind and helpful.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Stadthotel am Römerturm during my visit to Cologne for a conference. Two aspects that stood out for me were the delicious breakfast and the hotel's fantastic location. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cologne. Whether you're a food enthusiast looking for a great start to your day or a traveler seeking convenience and accessibility.

While the hotel had some positive aspects, I must admit that I was disappointed with overall cleanliness during my stay. One day, I returned to find that the bathroom had not been serviced at all, which was quite frustrating (just changed towels). Dust and hair were noticeable on surfaces in the bathroom. Even the trash can wasn't emptied.
