The friendly and helpful staff made all the difference for me. While not a luxury hotel it did have everything I needed, it was very clean, and it offered a generous, leisurely breakfast for a modest price. Its location is quite convenient. I’m already planning to stay there again.

If the hotel could provide a small refrigerator and possibly a coffee maker in the room, that would be excellent. I was told coffee is available in the evening downstairs, but I don’t know until what time or whether there is a charge. I stayed in a budget room and the bathroom was a bit cramped; but again, it provided everything I needed.

The staff were wonderfully friendly and welcoming. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and comfortable. The location is fantastic - very close to the old town.

The hotel seems to have an issue in how rooms are set up and sold on Booking. Two of us made reservations for 4 rooms for a few nights. Both of us had issues with the room bookings and the expected number of guests in the rooms (despite having children in the Booking search, they somehow got lost in the booking process). So both of us were asked to pay more money by the hotel for two of the 4 rooms we had booked. Prior to Munich we had stayed in two places in Italy and had no issues with our reservations through Booking - it was something only experienced in this hotel. An extra $230 was not a small additional cost to pay.

The location is good as it is within the center, & has a charming vibe & room has just the right size. It does not have a lot of modern facilities but has all the essentials of a hotel. Also the staff were great, especially Roland who checked me in late due to an issue with the initial hotel I was supposed to be in, also Pettina, Emre & Martin were all a delight to interact with & are very helpful & kind. They all made sure your needs are met.

The antiquated interiors but guess that is the theme of the hotel which is to resemble being inside a passenger train I guess in the 50s onwards, before the 2000s. Overall, staying here was worth it.

The location was perfect just 6 minutes from Marian platzI I really liked the warmth of the hotel. My room was spotlessly clean and quaint. The hot water in my room was excellent. Staff members were exceptionally welcoming and kind. They were helpful in the minutest detail.

I am gluten intolerant so some more consideration for us GF people would have been deeply appreciated. Staff did accomodated me in charging me for the 'petit dejeuner' which I appreciated.

I think that the location is ideal when staying in Munich for the first time. It's right on the edge of the beautiful and very walkable old town, but also right near other neighborhoods that have fun bars and restaurants. I saw a lot of good things said about the location here on Booking, and I can only fully agree with that. The hotel itself, though not necessarily luxury, fulfills any needs you might have as a traveler.

I didn't really have any complaints about the hotel, it served every need I might have when staying in a new city for a few days.

-We booked 2 rooms - a economy bunk room and Vienna suite as there were 4 of us. We liked the style and comfort of both. - Location was fantastic and so central. Easy to get anywhere - 1 stop to Marienplatz, 1 stop to central train station. - Very kind and helpful staff, always had a smile for us. Allowed early check in, which was helpful with a small child and lots of luggage. Child-friendly. - Fridge and kettle in room (suite) - Large bathtub & bathroom (suite) - Comfortable bed and always had a good nights' sleep

Minor things - nothing major. Rooms could get a little stuffy and tea/mugs not replaced every day.

The front desk manager when we checked in went above & beyond! We told her we had booked the room just for the day as we were leaving around 11 pm to catch an overnight train and found a room for us rather than waiting until 3 pm. An absolute gem of a person and lovely hotel in a great location.

Night manager was less than helpful to get us a taxi. At first he said there was a soccer match and getting one for us would be difficult. The game had been over since earlier that afternoon and once we said something he got us a taxi booked.

I ended up booking here after my flight was canceled in Munich due to what was the most snowfall ever recorded in the city since records began in 1933. More than 700 flights were cancelled during the next few days as the airport pretty much shut down. As many other flights were also being cancelled, prices were rising rapidly but this little hotel had reasonable prices. I finally had to stay in the hotel for 3 nights until the airport was operative again. Rooms are small, but charming, they look like train cabins. The whole hotel is train themed and decoration stands out. It is spotlessly clean. Staff is extremely welcoming, helpful and polite. Breakfast was excellent, with very good quality of products and a nice variety. Location ended up being perfect for visiting the old town. Definitely a great find.

Rooms could be bigger. But they are beautiful.

The theme and decor of the hotel was amazing, I loved the paintings on the wall to make it look like you were in a different city on each floor and the optical illusion of being in a much longer train carriage. The room was like a larger sleeper train carriage but there was plenty of room to hang things up and could use the top bunk for storage. It's 3 minutes from Senlinger Tor understand station which takes you most places in Munich and about 6 minutes from Kaiserplatz station for trains to the airport

I wouldn't rely on any toiletries in the bathroom as one tiny bottle of shampoo/shower gel doesn't go far. Even in April the room could do with Aircon, opening a window was fine but I don't think it would be too pleasant in high summer.
