Very comfortable and very friendly. Slightly old fashioned but none the worse for that. Good air con, shower fine, bed comfy. Felt secure, with a nice atmosphere. On a street full of trendy cafes(not noisy, my room was well sound-proofed) and rather polite student bars. The university area is north of the centre with the main art galleries, the Residence, and right next to the English Garden. A really nice area with metro station or a pleasant fifteen minute walk to the old town centre. No need to stay anywhere else.

The location was perfect: Quiet room over looking street, metro, tram and bus service a block away. Self serv. laundry two blocks. Very good included Breakfast with many restaurants nearby for variety. The beautiful English Garden, a pleasant 1/2 mi walk. Very quiet area even in the middle of tourist season and close to the university. Marian Plaza was 10min away by metro. Mr and Mrs Hauser, the hosts and owners were very pleasant and take a personal interest in everything about their hotel. You will not be disappointed in your stay

I was on a business trip, and I needed a convenient location close to the metro lines I needed to take. But even for a touristic visit, the location is actually very convenient. I was surprised at how efficient the hotel was, and it had a very good breakfast in the morning that I really enjoyed. The single room I had was not large, but it had everything I needed and was very practical.

Breakfast offered nice variety of but also typisch Deutsch (which was what we were looking for). Appreciated the old-school vibe (tablecloths, pots of coffee, plants, etc.) Room was comfortable, air conditioning worked, good-sized towels. Furnishings a little dated but that doesn't matter to us. The location was perfect – in the student quarter, close to transit and the English Garden, easy walking distance from museums and all the touristy stuff in the Altstadt (but, critically, not in the middle of the most touristy section).

Parking situation might need to be more clearly explained on website. The garage is too short for many vehicles. Alternative is to find street parking in a location where you can leave your car for more than 2 hours during the workweek. Once we found it, we used a hotel pass and reimbursed the hotel. The elevator is quite small, so people who require that to get up and down (or are using a wheelchair) might feel a little cramped (we just used the stairs). Key system for doors was different from typical hotels – the door only locks if you lock it, but if you lock it at night when you're asleep, you should leave the key in the door (in case you need to get out quickly).

Hotel Hauser is a small, cozy hotel. It's not luxurious, so I can't rate it over 8, but I always try to stay there when I am in Munich because of the value it offers. It's comfortable and clean, the staff is friendly, breakfast is great. I especially appreciate the location, in the cool Schwabing neighborhood near the University, the Englischer Garten, and the museums. The Universitat U-bahn stop is a short walk away.

The hotel was very clean and an easy walk to everything we wanted to do. Oktoberfest was only 20 minutes by public transit but we found the 40ish minute walk very nice. The breakfast buffet in the morning was wonderful and our room was perfect for two people.

We brought our own toiletries which was nice as the hotel had a 3in1 combo body wash shampoo but did not have conditioner.

Great location, a short walk to metro, two stops to Marienplatz. Lots of coffee shops and places to eat close by as it is near the university. A homely hotel, friendly service and someone is at reception until 11pm, which is rare these days. Pleasant continental buffet breakfast. A nice change from impersonal hotel groups.

Room was small but had everything. It was difficult to keep the room warm because Munich was in the midst of a massive snow storm with exceptionally low temperatures. Reception offered an extra duvet.

Single room for 1 night. Able to checkin early. Very clean comfortable small room in vibrant location with many cafes, restaurants below. Good security from street. Lift to rooms. Friendly helpful staff with English. Everything needed in room. TV worked. Kettle with tea. Bottle water provided in room. Interesting variety smorgasbord breakfast. A real sanctuary after arriving from less satisfactory accommodation. Bed very comfortable. Room had good ventilation, air-conditioning, and a good exhaust fan. Walking distance to major art galleries. Sad I did not book for longer stay. A gem of a hotel. A1. Good storage for clothes and seating and writing space. Walking distance to English garten and old arts district. Able to book taxi from hotel.

Breakfast area comfortable but not spacious, and may not suit bigger people. Lift also compact.

The room was a bit small but comfortable, with all the necessary ameneties - and a very good shower. The hotel had a very cozy, family-run, atmosphere, and the breakfast was excellent. The location was excellent, right in the middle of the University district, with a selection of pubs and restaurants nearby, and a stone's throw from the next U-bahn station.

Even though the room was small (meant for a single occupant), it was very well laid out, aesthetic, very clean and comfortable. It was clear that much thought had been quite successfully given to the layout of the room, bathroom, and furniture. The staff is very friendly, helpful and efficient. The overall feeling is of being at home. For me, the location was perfect.

I would have liked a hot water kettle and cup for making tea in the evenings.
