I cannot recommend this hotel enough! From start to finish, my stay was absolutely faultless. The team went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and well looked after. A special shoutout to Tim, who was incredibly hospitable – thank you so much for the kebab recommendation; it was spot on and delicious! The room was spotless, with everything I could possibly need already provided. The bed was super comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep after a long day. Breakfast was another highlight – delicious, fresh, and very reasonably priced. Every detail was thought of, and the staff genuinely cared about making my stay perfect. If you're looking for a place that feels like a home away from home, this is it. Can’t wait to return!

We LOVED our stay. The owners made us feel like members of their family. They were attentive but also respectful of privacy. The room was charming and there is great soundproofing so we couldn’t hear other people or any street noise. The location is superb with the historic sausage restaurant just a short block away and other good restaurants close by. The Christmas markets are just a few minutes walk. We have absolutely nothing negative to say as the hotel is perfectly charming.

I really enjoyed my three night stay at this lovely hotel. The location is great - only 15 mins walk from the main railway station and easy walking distance to all the sites in the old town. Tim and his mother (whose name I unfortunately didn't get) were very friendly and Tim, in particular, was very helpful when I arrived in providing me with recommendations of what to see as well as a couple of very good restaurant suggestions. My room was very comfortable, spacious and nicely furnished, with lots of nice touches - lovely products in the bathroom, a large bottle of complimentary sparkling water, tea/coffee making facilities etc. I would definitely stay here again if I am ever back in Nurnberg.

After spending four nights at a rather impersonal hotel in Berlin, it was a delight to arrive at the Franconia City Hotel. Located within the old walled city, it is an easy 15 minute walk from the Nuremberg train station. We were greeted by the most helpful Tim and Kerstin. Our room was delightful, much more charming, larger and cheaper than in Berlin. Our room was spotless. The bathroom was well lit and sported at great shower with plenty of hot water. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the well appointed dining room. We forgot our phone charger in Berlin and Tim immediately provided us with a loaner. It was just a short walk to two lovely restaurants, both of which we enjoyed very much. It was a short walk to the underground for a trip to the Dokumentation Center out of town and an easy walk to the Memorium Trials Museum. We love the hotel and loved Nuremberg.

The hotel was situated perfectly. The hosts could not have been more attentive and went out of their way to help us when the airline left us with no hand luggage and coats in -6 temperatures. The breakfast was extensive and presented beautifully with no time constraints. The beds were quality, and we slept soundly every night. Access out of hours was easy, and the friendly and warm atmosphere created was something which we will never forget. When our return flights were cancelled 12 hours before we were due to check out, we were offered another nights accommodation. We managed to find new flights, but the offer gave us time to think straight and I can not thank Kirsten enough for making a very stressful situation so much easier for us.

I really can not fault this establishment and the wonderful Kirsten and Tim. We will definitely return for another stay.

The stay was exceptional, beyond all expectations. The welcome was very warm, and I was welcomed as if I were entering a friend's house. The owners, mother and son, gave us all the information about the city by offering us a map. The room was very large, comfortable, well furnished. Very comfortable beds and ideal internal warm temperature. The bathroom with a very large shower. The hotel's location is ideal for visiting the heart of Nuremberg. A lot of opportunities for good food all around. It is located a short walk from the metro stop, but can easily be reached on foot from the station in a few minutes. The breakfast space was very beautifully decorated, with the warm colors of the Christmas period. I didn't have breakfast but the buffet was rich and complete. Thanks for the hospitality!

The hotel was excellent. The staff were very friendly and gave us lots of recommendations for our trip. The location is around 10 minutes walk from the main square, which made it a fantastic base for the Christmas markets. This hotel has lots of special touches in the rooms and reception which make it feel like a home from home. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to family and friends.

The hotel was cute and homely, it’s definitely a different experience from staying at big hotel chains! Had good conversations with the owner who runs the entire place and the room was so clean! Every detail from welcome gummy bears on the pillow to the way the towels were folded was beautiful! 10/10 recommend! And will definitely be back. Great location, many nice restaurants around and what a sweet, warm a kind stay. Thank you

It's hard to speak highly enough of this wonderful hotel! The welcome we received was very warm, Kerstin the host going to great lengths to suggest the places most worth seeing in the old city. I'd certainly advise taking her up on her restaurant recommendations (note also that right by the hotel is what iis suppposedly the oldest sausage making restaurant in the world - their sausages are definitely really good!) Our room was really spacious and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was great - a really good range of options that included a few that had thoughtfully been included for international visitors who might have specific desires from back home. We travelled through Germany by train - the hotel is easily accessible being an easy 10 minute walk from the main HBF station. All in all, it's a great place!

Nothing really

The room was spacious and we really appreciated the aircon as it was a very hot spell. Location was ideal for all the sights and the train station. Our train was v late in arriving and our host had a pragmatic solution which she emailed us about, so we were able to arrive and get in at our leisure. Big relief! She was also incredibly hospitable and helpful giving us suggestions and tips on where to visit and eat, which made the trip much more memorable.

Because we were in the middle of town it was a bit noisy on the Saturday night, but with the windows closed and aircon we were able to sleep.
