Location was very good and it is a charming traditional hotel. One of the staff called Jessica was so very helpful and friendly. Very clean rooms and fresh towels daily.

Some of the staff were not very friendly in fact the night porter was very grumpy, there was a lovely girl called Jessica who made us feel very welcome and she was very helpful. The restaurant staff were not accommodating, even trying to get a meal in the restaurant was a nightmare, it felt as if we were a nuisance to them. No air conditioning and the room was very stuffy so had to ask for a fan. Would have liked a small fridge in the room to allow for a cold drink during the night. This was our second stay in this hotel in fact we encouraged 4 other friends to stay there too but the experience was not as good as the first time we stayed,

For reasons that I imagine only the tourist industry fully understand, my favourite hotel in Nuremberg is either way too expensive to even think about staying in, or one of the cheapest options in the city centre, breakfast included. Just around the corner from the Weiße Turm U-Bahn (a relatively simple change at Hauptbahnhof if you're coming from the airport), this place, when the price is right, is absolutely marvellous. I've stayed here numerous times before, and it's always been a pleasure, despite the confusing layout of the place and the fact that some of the bathrooms aren't much bigger than a telephone box. Both the choice and quality of the food on offer at the breakfast buffet are also exceptionally good.

Arrive late and you might have to lean on the doorbell until the sleepy (sleeping?) staff member finally appears.

The hotel and attached restaurant were fantastic. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were lovely. Breakfast was very good with nice variety. And the location was perfect. Only a short walk to shopping, history, public transport and the Christmas markets. Definitely make a reservation at the restaurant. Wonderful food and wines.

I can’t think of a thing. Questions we sent prior to arrival were answered quickly. Parking was less than a block away.

Brilliant location for everything & also great value for money. If you like German wine, the lovely restaurant is a real treat ( suggest making a reservation in advance). Loved the breakfast & water bottles provided- a lovely touch . Daytime staff were lovey & very helpful.

The only small negative was the unwelcoming & strange manner of the nighttime ( midnight) staff member on duty when we arrived from airport-, unfriendly & an unusual experience.. not at all representative of this lovely hotel at other times.

Great traditional style property located in central old town. Superb restaurant in the hotel which you really should try when here. Good quality breakfast included. Staff very friendly and helpful. If you want a ticket for trams/trains consider getting one from reception for two days as cheaper than you can get online. Traditional style rooms , great shower . Can be a little noisy outside front with window open so ask for a fan if need be and close window.

After our eighth visit and 17th night at the Steichele, I can't imagine what I can say that I haven't already said. We love it there! The people, the cozy space, the crazy-delicious food and wine, everything! It's an easy walk to the German National Museum. But mostly we love hanging out in the hotel between other cities with more activities and more stress!

The only thing that could be better is the internet. Or, to be more precise, the internet in our room. When I needed to make a train or hotel reservation, I took my laptop to the breakfast room or the lobby. No problem in those spots.

The staff are fantastic, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was ample and fresh. The room was clean and comfortable. The location in old town was spectacular. Easy to access by train. Plenty shops and restaurants in the close vicinity.

The room was hot so you will have to leave the window open. There is no fridge in the room for water or drinks. The modern compact shower is very small. The WIFI simply doesn't work, it gives you connectivity just to tease you.

The staff is always helpful and friendly and they bend backwards to help in whatever way you need assistance. 10/10 Whenever I come back to Nbg I will be at the Steichele again. This was my third visit. Not to forget the food and wine. As a Frankonian I love our traditional food and you get it there exquisitly done, the portions are big but you just can't stop eating it. Have to go on a diet now again and eat a little less. But I am already looking forward to make the same mistake of overeating next time again.

As an adult I only got one evening in the beergarden my "Haribo". Would be great if you could get this after every meal, ha haha..

I really enjoyed staying here - the location in Altstadt is great. The building is old but the room felt modern enough and very clean. The staff were very nice and friendly and housekeeping were extremely accommodating which was so good. The breakfast was lovely and included. The price of my stay was also very reasonable. If I come back to Nürnberg I would gladly stay here again.

I can't think of anything negative about the hotel

The hotel was simple but very cozy. What made all the difference though were the very kind and helpful staff, who went out of their way to make me welcome and squeeze me in for dinner even though the restaurant was very busy. I've had so many bad experiences when travelling for work as a woman on my own, so this kindness really stood out! Very close to the wonderful Germanic National Museum too and walking distance from the station.

As ever, a kettle would have made everything perfect - but I know they're rare in German hotels!
