The hotel is in an amazing location, looking across the quaint village of Sfakia and out to sea. Breakfast was generous and delicious, including fresh juice, scrambled eggs and many Cretan specialties. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a huge balcony and plenty of storage.

The bathroom had a typical Greek shower - at least it had a curtain to keep the floor mostly dry, but shower doors would be better, and a hook to hang the shower head on. A small lamp in the living room would be nice for in the evening. The place could use a little more parking - most of the time we had to park on the street.

Very quiet, clean and well-maintained. We visited in the offseason and had the place almost to ourselves. Gorgeous view overlooking the town and the sea. The town was utterly charming and even the downside (the walk down to the town for every meal) made for an interesting experience. The pool was very clean but cold! Easy free parking.

As it was the offseason there were no services. We were stumped at checkin as you had to call a number to summon a staff member, but our international phone plans are data only, so we had to flag down a handyman to make the call for us. No breakfast was offered, no drinks at the pool. I think all this would be better in high season. Be aware that to get to meals and services in town, you have to walk down a very steep path with steps (about a 10 minute walk) down to the town. It’s not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

This place grew on us; arriving late at night, it's fair to say we were underwhelmed. 1970's complex that shows its age a bit; fairly spartan rooms. But then you realise you are paying a budget price; everything is clean & works well. The rooms are big. The pool is lovely. Parking is easy. And the vista is great. Katerina on the front desk is lovely & helpful. And the town of Chora Sfakion has a laid back charm (as well as being a terrific access point to gorgeous Loutro, and the magnificent Samaria Gorge).

No pool towels provided. Breakfast a bit limited. Wasps a nuisance, but what do you do?

Spacious rooms, ours was very bright and had a nice terrace with a sea view. Breakfast was good, but not the best we've had in Crete. The two girls at the reception were very kind and helpful. Great location, just a short walk from the port where you can find restaurants and bars.

The room's furniture was a bit outdated and in poor condition. The hotel has free parking spaces for guests, but there are only a few, and if they are all taken, parking on the street is not an option.

The view of the bay from our room was stunning! The swimming pool is very good selling point particularly for the kids, the little balcony was added confort and functional space. The place is at less than 5minutes walk from a beautiful sandy beach, the village street with restaurants and shops and the small arbour. Perfect place to visit khora sfakion. The staff were friendly and helpful.

No bedside lights in the main bedroom. Breakfast/bar facilities were not yet open as we were early in the season.

It was extremely clean, simple, has everything you need. Excellent views from the balcony. Gorgeous sunsets over the sea. Breakfast was also very good! The Greek yogurt was some of the best I’ve had. Everyone who worked there was kind and extremely helpful. It is a simple, no frills place but again, it has everything you need!

It would be amazing if they used local Sfakian honey for the breakfast instead of the plastic packets of honey. it would support local business and let guests enjoy local products (maybe leading them to purchase it). It would be a really nice touch. The shower is small which doesn’t work well with a shower curtain as it keeps sticking to your body. Installing sliding doors would make more sense for a shower that size. Neither of these were huge problems at all, but just suggestions for improvement.

We were upgraded on arrival to a double room with sea view, which was a lovely room, clean and comfortable with a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, water in the fridge and soap in the bathroom. A lovely balcony where you could watch everything at sea. The pool was small but perfect and we had it to ourselves virtually! Breakfast was full of choice and everything was lovely. Really welcome break on our journey across the South of Crete.

There were an awful lot of steps and the hotel is high from the town so if you're not mobile, it's not for you, we had sore legs due to walking so found this a bit of a trial

Our host was very kind and spoke very well French. The whole place looked beautiful. The apartment is well located, right on top of the port area. We also appreciated the pool very much and the flexibility of the staff for the hours of its opening.

The apartment was quite dark (lights which didn't create a cozy atmosphere) and the furniture was a bit old. Because of the wind and the sewers system on the whole island, there were bad smells coming to the bathroom that were difficult to bare, although they became a bit less strong after someone had taken a shower.

Spacious room with a rather small bathroom. Not stylish but is fully equipped and super clean. Located high up in Sfakia you have good access by car but you need to walk through the alleys to get to the beach or to the restaurants. Breakfast was great next to the pool with a nice overview of the village. The staff was very polite and helpful (reception and breakfast area). We didn't try the pool but is a great addition.

Tricky to find your way from the beach back to the hotel but it was still fun.

Nothing really. Only had aircon in bedroom. Not in lounge but not really a problem. Also a bit of a hike uphill with luggage but we had lunch at the restaurant on the waterfront and one of the waiters kindly took us up .
