Really happy with our stay at K16 Apartments. The location was ideal for our short stay in Akureyri, just minutes away from bars and restaurants, with free parking on site for our hire car. Apartment was simply furnished, very clean and comfortable with all the necessary amenities, very warm heating (needed given the -17c temperatures outside) wifi worked well, and access was easy with door codes. Overall a great value for money base for a long weekend exploring Northern Iceland. Would happily return

Highly recommended! The apartments are in a great location, close to everything you need, though nothing is really far away! For me this type of accomodation is preferable to a hotel as you have the privacy and can do things on your own schedules, and have facilities to get groceries and not have to eat/drink out all the time. Netto is about a 25min walk away and is open later than Bonus so this was perfect for when I arrived. The facilities in the apartment are all in good condition and I didn't have any problems with anything in the apartment when I was here. Plenty of towels, toilet roll, areas to store suitcase, clothes etc. Communal areas were clean and tidy, the key code was provided when it said it would be, and the controls easy to use. There was a guide in the room with helpful advice and explaining oven, air vents etc The host, Gunny, was very responsive to messages, very helpful in the lead up to the trip, and throughout when I needed help and advice for various things. Nothing was too much trouble! It was much appreciated I had a car for part of my trip and was able to park at the apartments each time I needed. Others have mentioned non-opening windows - in my apartment there were small windows you could open for ventilation so this seems to vary by property. I'm not putting this in the 'sad face' section - just an advisement that the apartments are on a hill, so if this is a challenge for you to walk up, plan accordingly. It was a good hamstring workout :-) No accomodation is 'cheap' in Iceland - but feel K16 offers good price for what it offers and had everything I need when I stay in Iceland and would happily stay again and recommend to others. Everything..location right in town..cleanliness not a speck of dust anywhere..total darkness at night right through...no noise at all from traffic or other residents (we might just have been lucky their)...Everything worked and fully stocked with all your needs..Had Netflix you tube channels etc and 230 mbs Internet...keyless entry so no looking for the key and great recycling facilities..bed had thick bedtopper mattress and was a delight to sleep in..loads of cafe bars restaurants on your doorstep

Great location, a short 5 minute stroll to the main street. Plenty of available parking. A big apartment with everything we needed for our family of four, the apartment might have felt a little dark being basement level with only high windows but it was mid winter when we stayed so outside was dark most of the time anyway. The apartment was lovely and quiet, we never heard any other people. I feel this place offers excellent value for money and was really good for the low price we paid (in contrast to many other accommodation options in the town).

Nothing - we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We loved Akureyri!

The location was great and very easy easy to find. Very central in Akureyri and just a 5 minute drive from the airport. There was ample parking and guest laundry facilities were free and available on site. The bed was so comfortable and the space was great. A large bathroom with walk in shower, great WiFi and smart TV, fully equipped kitchen with hob, oven, microwave, fridge and freezer and all the pots and pans you need to cook as you might do at home. Communication was easy and any questions were quickly answered by Margrét. All in all there was nothing to fault about the stay and I would certainly make it my first choice to go back to.

This place is fantastic. My only complaint is that the apartment did not have a coffee maker - which is strange because the kitchen was otherwise fully equipped and Icelandic people love their coffee. I did not appreciate having to leave the apartment first thing in the morning to buy coffee at a coffee shop.

Location and amenities. Everything! We were on the ring road travelling east from Reykjavik so after several nights at decent but basic inns, arriving at K16 apartments was such a treat. Toilet was big with ample shelving for toiletries, there's a washer and dryer, there's a kitchenette with utensils, Netflix... The bed was also so comfortable. Location was amazing. Park your car at the apartment and you can pretty much walk everywhere. Restaurants are a few mins away by foot.

We were travelling during peak season so the apartment was fully booked. This also means that when we arrived later in the evenings we couldn't find parking lots. Other than this small tiny issue everything was great.

The kitchen was stocked well enough to make simple meals. Good size shower with good water pressure. Really comfortable bed, easy to manage heat, and very easy access with digital code. Overall, this place was an amazing stay and would definitely stay again. The location can't be beat, steps from the main center.

Weekend parking, the lot was completely full when we got back Friday evening. Clothing storage was near where you left your wet shoes. The shower was very hot... I had it as far cold as possible, and it was tolerable, but still very hot.

Spacious, spotlessly clean and modern apartment (much bigger than expected!). Very good kitchen equipment, full sized fridge/freezer, great shower, comfortable bed and sofa. It was a bonus having free access to Netflix as well. The location was excellent being only a few minutes walk down the hill into Akuyeri and a 5-10 minute walk to the beautiful Botanical Gardens. Having access to washing machine and tumble drier (free) was fantastic as we managed to clear our washing halfway through our road trip. We managed to park next to the apartment.

We struggled with the road noise, especially at night. Unfortunately our stay coincided with the Motorpsort Festival so cars were constantly going up and down the hill outside and revving their engines very loudly!
