For Iceland, where accommodation is expensive, the Dalakot was good value. The location was also perfect for us. We arrived that morning on the ferry from the Faroe Islands, which landed on the east side of Iceland, and after a spectacular 8 hour drive we were very ready for a break. Our room was simple but clean, the staff were friendly, and we had a simple dinner at the adjoining pizzeria. We were in just the right place to proceed the next morning to the Snaefelsness peninsular.

The room was clean and spacious. As we were the only guests they upgraded us for a double room with bathroom, which was really lovely. If you eat at restaurant, you get 10% discount, we got burgers and we thought it was spectacular. A really lovely place. Breakfast was nice too, we were the only ones, but it was still on time and plenty of things to offer. My only suggestion would be to offer sugar as well, there were only sweeteners.

All was nice. We enjoyed it and would stay again.

The guesthouse is located inside a restaurant (or the other way around :D) and is run by Italian owners (which I really appreciated since I'm Italian myself!). If you eat at the restaurant, which mostly serves burgers and pizzas, you get a 10% discount. In the village there's a gas station, some shops and cafes, but they were mostly closed when we were there, so it was nice to have a restaurant inside the guesthouse. If you come from east or southwest, be aware that some roads that lead to the village aren't paved (as of 2023). The rooms were spacious and clean, same for the toilets. You always had access to a warm tea/chamomile and extra towels. Included with the stay you also have a nice breakfast, with a wide range of options. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

An extra toilet/shower would have been nice, because both nights the guesthouse was fully booked and there were many guests. There are no facilities to cook yourself a warm meal - I guess that's the whole point of also having a restaurant - but just so you know! Since there's a lot of fried food in the restaurant's menu, the halls always smell of food, so better keep the windows open ;)

Great place!! Clean, great shared shower, bathroom with heated floor, friendly staff, comfy beds cosy duvet. Kettle, coffee, tea was a nice touch. Room had a sink which was handy. Highly recommend this place. We chose the breakfast as part of our stay, lots of choice, good coffee, especially enjoyed the mini chocolate croissant. We enjoyed their restaurant as well after a long days drive. Great burgers and pizza.

Great property, comfortable, and quiet. It's attached to a restaurant (which was actually probably one of the most reasonably priced meals we had in Iceland) so we "checked in" at the restaurant bar/counter. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The shared facilities were fine and we didn't have to wait long to use them. There's a cool coastline hike nearby (be careful of angry nesting birds), but we didn't really do much else in town. The breakfast was included and was quite good -- lots of options. We'd stay again.

No complaints at all -- we loved the place.

Staff were very approachable, friendly and offered some good advice on the roads in the surrounding area. Our room was a good size and there was a small sink within and access to shared bathroom facilities. We never had any issue getting the use of them when required and there was plenty of room within them. We ate our evening meal at Dalakot and both of us thoroughly enjoyed our burgers and beer. The male waiter was very good in showing us the local craft beers they had available and gave some good recommendations. Breakfast was simple yet fresh and tasty and there was plenty to go around all the guests. We had a good stay at Dalakot and would definitely stay again if in the area.

Great place to stay, clean and tidy although someone might dislike the smell of pizza in the evening (the building is in fact a restaurant). Warm, good parking space, easy to get to, very kind and helpful staff. Good breakfast.

The only thing that I didn't like was that I had to pay in euros when reserving the room via booking.com. Booking.com made it impossible to pay in ISK in Iceland, which results in extra charges on currency exchange. You might want to call the hotel directly or use a different platform to make a reservation.

The friendly staff at Dalakot made the good meals even better. Breakfast had many good options for various types of eaters, and the restaurant's dinner was very good. The place was clean, the beds were very comfortable, and the 3-bed room was a good size (our 2-bed room was more "cozy").

Nothing we didn't like. This was a great place to stay for a night, especially our first in Iceland since meals were easy to get!

It was very clean and wonderful to have breakfast provided in the morning. Staff was an accommodating when I asked if they could put my freezer pack in the freezer. They even offered one for me to use for the night, which I appreciated.

I found it to be quite noisy in the night - I’m a light sleeper so could hear doors being unlocked/opened when other guests were heading to the bathroom.

Our room was very clean. The shared bathrooms were very nice, but people really need to clean up after themselves. Don't leave your towels behind, or tissues on the counters, we are all sharing these 2 bathrooms. The dinner, we had pizza and breakfast was very good. The staff were all very nice.

There probably needs to be a sign in a few languages, that says the bathrooms behind the door are for hotel guests only. People from the restaurant were coming into the area that had a sign only in English.
