Location is great, close to the harbor walking paths and restaurants. On a good weather day, the view of glaciers across the bay is outstanding. Alas, the weather was rubbish during our stay this year. Shared kitchen is a great asset. Breakfast is minimalist but sufficient for us. There are scant options in Höfn. There is a Netto grocery a half block away. Other guests were diverse, quiet, friendly. Bed was excellent.

I had reserved a room with a double or two twins, but instead got a room with three twins, which meant that there was no room for chairs and that we spent a lot of time reading on our beds in the bad weather. There was no one to talk to because of the no-contact check in - the only human being one sees is the housekeeper in the morning.

Brilliant place to stay, nice (3-bed sized) room for the two of us gave us space to spread out a bit. Room lovely and warm, easily accessed via back door from close to the car parking. It had a fabulous shower / bathroom with underfloor heating, which was great for helping to dry our waterproofs. Just as an aside, the staff were lovely, they kindly allowed us to pop a load of washing through as we were staying for a while, I do not think this is commonly available, but it was very much appreciated. Breakfast was simple and the coffee was nice, it was a brilliant base from which to explore the area.

This was a brilliant place for us, no complaints.

Our room was large and comfortable, even had a couple of chairs and an ottoman! Most of our rooms in Iceland were so small so having the opportunity to spread a bit was a very happy surprise. I got a message a few days in advance with some instructions. My key would be at the front desk with my name and they informed me they had complimentary coffee, tea, yogurt and cereals in the morning. In the message they also apologized for not offering breakfast. I was like What?! Where I come from some hotels call cereal and yogurt breakfast and charge you for it. I would have been happy with coffee alone lol! Anyway, I read somewhere they had laundry facilities available, so I was banking on doing some laundry there. When I asked where I could do my laundry and if there was an extra charge, they were a bit confused but immediately showed me to the hotel's laundry room and let me use it!! This was very nice of them. Lastly, they have the cutest garden, looks like your grandma's place.

The bathroom was really big and clean. The shampoo and shower gel provided were nice. The bed was comfortable. There was free tea, coffee, juice and cookies provided in the lounge. There was a large supermarket right next door that was within walking distance. The host was friendly.

The shared kitchen was a bit unclean. The knives didn't cut well, and the cutting boards looked like they needed replacing. The fridge smelled bad, I was reluctant to store food in it.

Spacious room which was warm. Bed was comfortable . Good location. Could park easily. A communal fridge available. No desk in room but tables snd chairs in breakfast room which we used. You don’t really see any staff. Keys are sat on a counter when you arrive. It works fine. The warmth of human interaction is with the other guests, not with the owners/ managers.

No washing machine. No kitchen. Both would have improved the value to us.

We had 2 rooms. One a triple room, the other a double. Both rooms were well laid out with big bathrooms, with large shower cubicles. Shampoo & conditioner were also provided. More importantly, both rooms and bathrooms were very clean & well maintained. Bed linen, pillows and duvets are good quality. The common kitchen area is equipped with stove tops, toaster, kettle, microwave, fridge & dishwasher. There is also a laundry corner with 2 dryers (but no washing machine). The breakfast room is a cozy room with tables & chairs. There was unlimited cereal with a big selection of yogurt, juices & milk. There is a coffee/hot drinks machine with different types of coffee & hot chocolate. The cafe au lait was excellent. The staff were very helpful & friendly and happily answered our touristy questions. They also lent us a phone when our travel SIM cards ran out of voice minutes - thank you again!

Lovely hosts and they let me check in quite early, which was well needed. The beds and pillows were so far the best I've had in iceland. Lovely new modern bathroom with an amazing rain shower. There's not much to do in town but nice as a pitstop in between. The place doesn't offer breakfast or dinner (offseason) but compensates with free coffee, tea, cereal, and stuff for in the mornings.

The place does not have a (well equipped) kitchen. Be prepared to eat something cold and ready to go or go out for dinner. There is no microwave, gas stove, dishes etc. There was a kettle but no sink to actually fill it up with water. Felt awkward bringing it to my room to fill it up, so I saved my noodles for the next place 😅.

The owner was very friendly and willing to help as we got the opportunity to check in the morning of out arrival long before the usual check in time. The guesthouse is very well located, they have a spacious kitchen to your disposal and coffee and tea for free at any given time. In the morning they also serve breakfast which looked very tasty.

The place could have been a little cleaner as the room looked like it was not vacuumed before our arrival etc. But nothing dramatic.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Apotek Guesthouse in Hofn and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff at Apotek Guesthouse went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their hospitality truly made me feel like a valued guest. The accommodations at Apotek Guesthouse were outstanding. My room was impeccably clean and comfortable. The location of Apotek Guesthouse in Hofn is also a definite advantage. It's conveniently situated, providing easy access to the stunning natural beauty of the region. Furthermore, the guesthouse's communal areas were cozy and inviting, creating a wonderful space to relax, unwind, and connect with fellow travelers. It added a sense of camaraderie to the overall experience that I truly appreciated. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Apotek Guesthouse in Hofn. It offers not only comfort and exceptional service but also a genuine Icelandic hospitality that made my stay truly memorable. I can't wait to return on my next adventure in this breathtaking part of Iceland.

Everything was perfect!

Even there is no formal breakfast, I still like it very much -- plenty of milk,juice and automatic coffee machine with hot chocolate. You just take some bread or sausage or else from the supermarket nearby and with their really good kitchen, the meals will be ready I really like here as the room is quite clean, quite and the hosts are very nice every they dont talk too much

If there is a bottle of oil in the kichen , it will be nice
