Check in process was very easy; room and facilities were excellent, comfortable, clean, and modern. The location was also perfect, just a bit outside Hofn, and very accessible to all nearby attractions. Lastly, the kitchen facilities (plates, microwave, coffee machine) are quite functional.

Only minor points of improvement - a mini fridge in the rooms would be ideal. As it was very cold, we were able to keep food cold in the car, but this is not very comfy. Lastly, we would suggest having a way to turn off the lights outside of the rooms - this would be optimal for northern lights spotting, as the guesthouse is very well located with lights displays very visible. However, the ourdoor lights of the room make it difficult.

My husband and I had a very comfortable 2 nights stay at this guesthouse. The location was convenient right off the 1. It is far enough away from light pollution so we had a great viewing of the aurora borealis on our 1st night. It was also just an 8 min drive into the tiny town of Hofn for lunch and dinner. The woman who I believe was the owner was incredibly accommodating and went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable during our two nights stay. There was some negative reviews that made me nervous prior to our stay but I don’t understand the complaints because what you see in the pictures is exactly what you get as advertised. This is by no means the “four seasons resort” but for cleanliness, a warm bed, location and staff I give this guesthouse 10/10 and would recommend for anybody passing through.

The location is very nice on the way to Stokksnes. There is a kitchen with kettle, coffee, microwave which you can use for free.

As you use a code to enter the room, not always the code worked, so we had to enter it 3-5 times to open the door. Hair dryer didn't work now and then, but a lady from hotel brought another one straight away. We stayed at the guesthouse during rainy day, so we thought, that it would be amazing if there were a hot tub outside.

Everything was fine

Seljavellir Guesthouse is an excellent choice for travelers visiting Hofn, offering a charming environment alongside many helpful amenities designed to enhance your stay. - The independent units are easy to get to if you have a lot of luggage as they are all in a row - The view is fabulous, we had the mountain facing view and in the morning, waking up to bids chirping and beautiful mountains was an amazing feeling - The room is clean and medium size, bathroom is big and perfect for one night - Ample parking

Accommodation was in a long block of rooms using both sides of the building, and each room had electronic door locks, so we were sent the room pin before we got there, and there no need to check-in. The accommodation is new and the room has underfloor heating and a very modern backroom and shower. What we liked is that there is a kitchen area that the guest can use and full use of plates and cutlery inc the microwave and plenty ot tables and chairs. So, there is no need to eat in your room The room was very modern, and the beds were comfy, and the room could get warm, so use the thermostat on the wall to change the temperature. Great place to stay if you want to visit the Glacier ad it's about 1hr feom diamond beach etc. Overall, it was a very good place to stay

Very stylish and luxurious cabin with all the mod cons. First place we've stayed in Iceland that has a controllable temperature dial! Super comfortable bed. Big window for northern light spotting. Clean communal area with microwave and coffee machine to cook our noodles when we arrived. Easy to find just off the main road. Self check in so didn't have any interaction with staff which was fine.

Nowhere to wash up the kitchen stuff we used

Great place to stay next to road Nr 1 in the southeast part of Iceland. Checking in and out is very easy and flexible (self checkin available if you arrive late), the room has everything you need for a few day long stay including: hair dryer, towels, bedsheets, kettle, tea, coffee, TV with english channels, hangers, carpark etc. Maybe a small fridge would be handy but since we were staying there in the middle of November, our car's trunk just did the job 🙂 The room was clean and spaceous for two of us. The crew is very friendly and helpful as well!

Very dark location with beautiful views during the day. We didn’t see the northern lights, unfortunately. Plenty of parking spots, and this accommodation had the best shower of all 9 we stayed on our road trip. Easy check in and each room had its own door with a key code. Very close to Höfn, less than 10 min driving. We had a really nice dinner there.

The breakfast wasn’t included and my husband saw it and said was very basic so we decided not to pay in the morning. The shower was amazing, but there wasn’t a shower box or curtain so the water went everywhere.
