Beautiful cottage. Very well equipped. Comfortable beds. Very clean bathrooms. We saw the aurora from the verandah around the cottage. Sea and mountain view. Walk to the sea beach 5 mins. Walk to the restaurant 2 mins. Apartments and rooms of the hotel are closer to the sea, but a little further away from the restaurant.
A microwave would have been nice. Also, some streaming options on TV (Netflix). Some more options for vegetarians/vegans in breakfast would be nice.

This place was really comfortable. The room was big, well equipped and very clean with a private bathroom (which is not a norm in Iceland). Abundant free parking. The apartment building had a common area with free tea and coffee which was a nice touch. Breakfast buffet was pretty good. The restaurant serves dinner which was a big bonus for me since this area of Iceland is very scarcely populated.
The hotel is split into several buildings (reception + restaurant, appartment buildings). In a sunny weather it would be a pleasant stroll, but since it was raining I had to drive to dinner and breakfast. The price was crazy high, but since this was the only available option in the area, I had no choice.

The beds were extremely comfortable, I slept better there that some time ago. The room is spacious and elegant, better and nicer than we expect. There was parking lot just in front the builing were our rooms were. The location is great, just like 10-15 to the Diamond Beach. There was a little common area in the building were the rooms were that was a really good extra. With coffee machine, hot water, small fridge and cutlery and plates. That was a great extra. The breakfast was okay.
A little bit too expensive for our budget. That has nothing to do with the hotel, they are in a really good location and there's no so man other options around, so it's understandable. But once we decided to book it the stay was great.

Lovely riverside location, easy self check in, nice breakfast with friendly staff. TV had Netflix with an account logged in so we were able to watch movies each night.
The three way security lock is unintuitive and took us a while to understand even with the instruction to pull the handle up. Once you get it, its not too bad, but its an annoying thing to fumble with on arrival. Our room could have used some maintenance or small touches in places. For example, something was busted or not attached properly on the window affecting its operation. The flush button on the toilet was stuck underneath the lid. Wish there was a caddy mounted in the shower to hold your shampoo and soap.

Included breakfast was simple but filling. Just be aware that the food is served in the restaurant separate from the building where the rooms are and that it's the only place to get food. There is a common space with some small appliances where the rooms are and we were able to warm up food that we had with un when we arrived later in the evening. Having access to the drying room was also super helpful as we unfortunately we experienced a lot of rain on our trip.
There was no soap in our dispenser in our bathroom. I'm glad I read reviews on Google so I knew that I had to check in at the restaurant, I'm not sure that was fully communicated prior to our arrival.

Great room space, nice view, lovely place. You get free entrance to the museum. Very comvenient location. Everything clean. Room got everything we needed. Loved the shower box! Breakfast was very diverse, many options, couple of them homemade (bread, spreads, jam etc). Very friendly and helpful staff!
Bed and pillow could be more confortable. Things were not so new (carpet, building, towels) though very clean. Breakfast fruits could be freshier. Refill of breakfast options could be a little bit faster.

Hali Country Hotel This was the one of the best stays during our entire Iceland trip. We originally booked it because Höfn hotels were sold out, but are so glad we did. It has an unbelievable scenic view of the glacier and is quiet and peaceful. It was a perfect place to take a huge exhale after a long day of driving. You could really get lost in the view. If you’re into birdwatching, there’s also TONs of species of birds. The staff were also nice and friendly, and one actually went with us to our cottage and helped us unload our bags since we have mobility challenges. One thing I will mention is that we were a little confused about the blackout curtain situation. We didn’t see any and had some trouble sleeping. They either weren’t there or they might have been the roll up kind under the window and we missed it. Either way I’d just check this out with the reception to make sure you know how to black-out the room before you sleep, especially if you’re a dumb Americans like us. The cottages are remote (like an hour away from any grocery store or gas in Hofn) and the only restaurant is the one offered by the hotel. There is a kitchen in the cottage so if you want to cook, definitely buy food in advance. The restaurant is a little pricey, so make sure you plan if you don’t want to eat there. That being said the breakfast was DELICIOUS. Because it is so remote they make most of the food on site fresh themselves - bread, pastries etc. I particularly loved the foccacia. They make excellent lattes too which are included with breakfast. That was a really pleasant surprise and reason alone to stay there again!

The hotel is on a farm, the reception and the restaurant are by the gates and then The rooms are in two buildings. There is also a museum attached to the restaurant (free of charge). The staff were very good, the rooms were new, well maintained and spacious. Every building has a coffee machine where you can get coffee and tea 24 hours a day for free. We had dinner twice the food was very good and locally sourced. Also the breakfast buffet was good and had lots of options. The glacier is a 15 min drive.
The wifi signal in our room was very weak you can only get wifi by the room door

We chose this hotel because it was located next door to Glacier Adventure, a tour company with which we booked a 7 hour epic glacier hike and ice cave tour. This was the only place we stayed 2 nights on our 10 day Ring Road adventure. The dining room was nice and service and food were excellent. There's an amazing little museum off the back of the dining room that should not be missed. We saw an amazing demonstration of the Northern Lights on our second night staying here.
There really was nothing to dislike about this place. The room was large and comfortable. It was adjacent to our tour company and the food was really good.

We stayed in the two bedroom cottage. It was perfect for our family - located close to the Reception/restaurant building so very convenient but not as close to the sea/views as other parts of the hotel. Really close to Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach. We ate breakfast in the hotel - it was a buffet with loads of choice and everything was kept topped up. We especially enjoyed the fresh fruit and salad which is expensive to buy at supermarkets in Iceland!
We ate dinner in the restaurant on one night which was nice but access to the exhibition (famous writer from Hali) was through the restaurant so it was a bit strange eating a posh meal with visitors in hiking boots and coats walking past the table!
