The apartment included a bathroom, bedroom, living room, and fully equipped kitchen (including microwave, 2 burners, dishwasher, fridge, sink). I went to a local grocery to purchase breakfast and snack items which provided ease and saved money. I was pleasantly surprised at the size and cleanliness of the apartment as well as its location, approximately 2 minutes from a main bus stop pick up for tours. It was close to neighbourhood restaurants and 5 minutes from the main shopping area as well as close to points of interest. Towels were changed nightly, unless I requested otherwise. Access was as instructed, and storage was provided for several hours after I checked out. The housekeeping staff I met were friendly and informative, and clearly worked diligently to maintain a high level of cleanliness.
Nothing.

Good location, close to the pond and major attractions (all within 5-30 min walk).Has a small fridge, toaster, jug and hot plates so can prepare basic meals. Spacious living area to repack bags. Close to bus stop 2 for flybus pick up.
The units on the top floor have a steep staircase. If I had known I would have requested a lower floor - then you only have the outside stairs. I was worried about my heavy bag but it was manageable.

I had a wonderful stay. Perfectly situated within walking distance to attractions and bus stops while also maintaining some calm away from the busy atmosphere of the main streets. The room with balcony was just as pictured and had a good view of the pond and frikirkjan. It was fairly quiet, the only time I heard noise was some guy snoring in another room. I only heard it one or two nights; thankfully I travel with white noise and ear plugs. Kitchen was perfect size for me.. Everything was very clean.. Convenient luggage storage really helped. I would stay here again but would def want the same room with the balcony and view.
Only think not to like was the minor inconvenience of loud snoring guy. :) I feel bad for his wife. Other than that, it was quiet and guests respected the posted quiet hours.

Castle House Luxury Apartments are ideally located for a short break in Reykjavík. Right in the heart of the characterful Old Town area, by the lake and just a three minute walk from the main bus routes. There are some excellent restaurants just a short walk away, as well as a 24/7 supermarket. The Old harbour is also nearby. The apartment was clean and very cosy. Decorated with typical Scandinavian flair, it makes the most of every bit of space. It was pretty well equipped for a small apartment and we managed to cater for ourselves to save a bit of money ( it is expensive to eat out in the city) Extra marks awarded for the gorgeous big red armchairs in the living area!
There was virtually nothing we didn’t like. If I’m being very picky I would have liked an extra pillow! Some people may take some getting used to the sulphurous smell from the hot water, but when you realise it comes straight from the ground at up to 85 degrees C, you start to love it!

The apartment has everything needed in a compact space. I wish we had looked around more thoroughly when we arrived - there was an excellent guide to the local area in a binder on the table. it covered issues like parking, local grocery stores with their hours and general helpful advice. We found it on our last day. The bed was really comfortable. And the location was close to Bus Stop 1 for tours and a shot walk to restaurants and shopping.
As others mentioned, the key pad on the door for entrance was a little tricky. we had to call for assistance a couple of times.

Location is PERFECT 👌 5 mins from centre of town tucked behind a beautiful little church - quiet but central. Staff team friendly, helpful and responsive - do a clean and tidy every day. Replenish welcome pack of tea and coffee daily (not breakfast tea tho). Compact with everything you need but with enough space for separate dining table, reading/TV chairs and sleeping - bed really comfy.
Nothing not to like - we were there 6 days and had everything we needed - will definitely be staying again!

Amazing location, close to many attractions in Reykjavik. The flat was spacious, cozy, and functional. There was even a dish washer and basic kitchenware so you can make your own meals. Customer support was available 24/7 in case you needed their help since there wasn’t a reception desk. Check-in and check-out instructions really clear too, plus they gave us a small discount on some tours and transfers.
The TV was quite old so we couldn’t connect properly our laptops and the image quality was poor. Also the electronic box where you put your key PIN would sometimes malfunction (although staff was available to guide us through the resolution of the issue).

Everything was as expected, arrived early and we managed to get in straight away which was lucky, room cleaned and replacements were given. Very convenient to be near the main bus terminal and city centre. Quiet outside even with the windows open and the building as guests are reminded to keep noise low at night time.
Honestly there wasn’t anything to not like, everything was expected. I wouldn’t recommend for more than two as the apartment wouldn’t have the space to be comfortable

Excellent location, a short walk to all the main places in town. Very warm. The bed was very comfortable. Some limited English tv channels. Fully contained kitchen. The property was well looked after and clean. Tea and instant coffee provided.
It was very small - we’d expected larger than the apartment from the photos. Everything was in one room and you had to move carefully between the table and bed to get in on one side. Two chairs, but they were not for lounging in. Parking on the street meant a bit of a walk to/from the accommodation at times. The apartment was nice and would stay again but it was definitely not ‘luxury’.

Very centrally located. Heated floor in the washroom was a great thing after being out late in the cold. Kitchen was fantastic and the little sitting area. Bed was great. Very comfortable. I have a bad back so need a soft bed. Would definitely stay again.
The key pad to get in was finicky. It really should be replaced with something better. I’m not sure why the property didn’t think about the cold and fingers needing to open the doors. We came back after a northern lights tour and because we were cold, we couldn’t get the key pad to open and were locked out. Had to call the number and got them to open it. Not fun at 1:30 in the morning. It was -20! Perhaps have an “activate” button rather than having to touch the key pad. This leads to getting the code wrong and the potential to getting locked out. Also, the property said no children but there was definitely some kids running around above us and screeching.
