Great view of the bay. The hotel was outside downtown but close enough you could walk (~20 min), it is also within walking distance from a bus depot where you can travel to other cities and paid tours to the other places. Staff was very friendly, from all over the world, ready to entertain you and accommodate your needs. Breakfast is what you would expect of a five star hotel, plenty of food and a lots of options for everyone in the family. My family and I had a great time.
It is far from the airport. you will need to rent a car or secure ground transportation. It is better to rent a car in order to explore this beautiful country at your leasure.

The room was very big, the hotel hall is big and it has a very cosy and let’s say “northern design”. The bed was very comfortable, everything was super clean and the staff is super nice. The breakfast had everything you need. I fell in love with the pillows, I’ve never had such comfortable pillows in a hotel stay before. There is a lovely cat roaming around the hotel, I guess she is the manager! :) The restaurant is really good and I only booked this hotel because I wanted to have easy-to-go options without having trouble searching for something.
I think they could improve the quality of the hygiene’s products (shampoo and conditioner). I understand the interior design is supposed to be very cosy but sometimes I felt the room was too dark and there wasn’t better lighting options to turn on. The sweets in the breakfast (waffle, croissant etc) could also be improved, they are too dry and taste like frozen food. Be aware that this hotel is a little distant to the city centre, so if you plan to discover the city it might take a little effort: You can always take a bus or a taxi but I don’t think it’s a “walk distance”. For us this wasn’t a problem because all the tours pick you up at the hotel hall.

The room was very spacious and the beds were super comfortable. The balcony was a very nice bonus that we weren't expecting. The bathroom was perfect and even included a jacuzzi that was exactly what you would need after a busy day exploring Reykjavik.
There was some ongoing construction happening outside our side of the hotel. Our sleep was disturbed very early in the morning by the hammering and heavy machinery. We couldn't really close the windows because the room got hot and stuffy very quickly, which made it almost impossible to sleep in, as there was no air conditioning available in the room.

We stayed twice, once in a tower room and once in an atrium view room. The noise level in the atrium view room was very high and not modifiable. Amenities were far more generous in the tower room too. The restaurant served the best breakfast we found in Iceland, and the dinners were creative with abundant fresh food. I saw a wall-full of awards won by the chef and was privileged to see him in person to congratulate him. Finally, I can't say enough about the front desk crew. We arrived to find a problem with our first reservation, and they advocated to Booking for us. Every day they remembered us and greeted us, and they are interesting people in their own right. One was a moonlighting biologist who was very well read. We loved staying there! We hope to go back
Atrium view room was very noisy until late evening.

New part of the hotel is good, falls in line with european standards for a 4*. Gym has everything you need for a quick workout. We also had dinner in the restaurant which was fine too.
at first we got a room in the old part of the hotel. The room didn‘t look that nice, it was super hot due to the midnight sun directly blasting onto the windows and no Airconditioning. Windows would not open. The water pipes were obviously very old as well - the water smelled like rotten eggs. After very politely asking to switch our room to a side with no midnight sun, we received a room in the new tower which was much more modern, had AC and the water smelled fine and was drinkable.

Breakfast was a good spread, despite the size. They even have coffee, tea and croissants for those who can't wait till the main dining start. My room was not ideal for me as I am tall but they gave me 407 which had sloped ceilings; making me hunch most of the time in my room. They even provided a fan, which is good in case the room get stuffy. Good location and for Tours, the pickup point, Bus Stop 6, is just 200m away from hotel. Gym is small but sufficient.
Nothing much to complain about, I am not a sophisticated traveller.

Staff is very friendly and customer orientated. The single room was well furnished, modern and bright. The room was quiet with a view of the countryside. Bathroom was big enough with enough storage place. Bed was comfortable. There is a nice restaurant downstairs. The breakfast they offer is more than sufficient and pretty good. Their are enough parking spaces. The walking distance from the hotel to the center of the city is about 15 min. WIFI is stable and fast.

It is truly a luxury hotel in Reykjavik. Nice restaurant, excellent breakfast. Very courteous staff. Shall go overboard to suggest the touristic destinations in details
Bit out of the downtown. Hence, it doesn't give a feeling of staying in Reykjavik. However, it is a big blessing as well, as it has large parking area with easy exit & entry.

Nice big room, big comfy bed, excellent blackout currents, very important in Iceland in the summer time. Bathroom had a bathtub. The hotel itself is huge and the lobby area looks amazing. It felt like I was abroad and not just staying somewhere for a night in my home country.
The floor was quite dusty next to the bed. Like it hadn't been vacuumed under the bed for a while. The staff was polite but came off a bit cold and snobbish. When you're working in a reception you need to smile to the guests. Found it a little hard to find my way around because of how big the place is.
