My stay at Hotel Von in Iceland was an absolute delight! Nestled amidst the nicest shops, numerous restaurants, and vibrant nightlife, the location couldn't be better for exploring and enjoying the local scene. The room itself was the epitome of cozy, offering a warm and inviting space to unwind after a day of adventure. While the absence of a coffee machine was noted, this minor detail was far outweighed by the pleasant surprise of an upgrade to a family room on the street side. Despite the lively area, the room remained a quiet haven, ensuring restful nights. Hotel Von's strategic location, combined with the comfort of the accommodations and the serene environment, even amidst the buzz, made my stay memorable. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a blend of convenience, comfort, and the best of Icelandic hospitality.

Despite the cozy charm and perfect location of Hotel Von in Iceland, the lack of a coffee machine in the room was a notable downside for me.

Speaking from someone working in the industry, I can say that the hotel is absolutely fantastic. The staff is friendly, rooms are well cleaned, extremely comfortable and well maintained. The location couldn't have been better. For anyone looking for a hotel in Reykjavik: This is an absolutely fantastic choice!

My only recommendation is putting a towel in front of the shower, as the water does not flow away fast enough.

We stayed over the weekend here. Excellent location in the heart of the city. There are tons of restaurants and shops around. Deluxe Double room is a good size for 2 people, spotless, modern, having a comfortable bed. We requested a quiet room on the upper level (facing the sea side) upon reservation. And they provided exactly what we asked for. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The only downside was that hotel didn’t provide any breakfast. However, there is a free high quality coffee machine at reception available 24/7. And there are few places nearby available for breakfast in the early morning. Can recommend Sandholt (bakery & coffee shop with a seating area) or Grái kötturinn (American style breakfast). Both places are just few mins away by foot. We also booked the Golden Circle tour through the hotel in advance. It started at around 9.00am (but the waiting time outside could be about 30-40 mins) and took about 9 hours with the multiple stops ie Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss Waterfall, Geysers, Fridheimar Farm & restaurant for lunch and the Secret Lagoon. They pick you up from the nearest bus stop N9 which is just 5 min walk from the hotel. From/To the airport you can use FlyBus services. You can buy the tickets online or at arrivals. Or you can also book the return tickets to the airport at the hotel reception. In general, we had quite a pleasant stay (regardless of the pouring rain;-) and could highly recommend this hotel.

The location is brilliant, on the main strip, plenty of bars and restaurants, shop next door, near bus stops, great view of the harbour, nice and warm. Friendly staff, shout out to Gatis.

It would have been nice to have some sort of coffee in the room, there were a couple of tea bags but no sugar or milk. There isn't a lot of space to open your luggage and none at all to store your clothes. The pillows weren't the most comfortable

The hotel is right in the middle of where you need to be. Close to lots of restaurants and shops. The waterfall shower in the room was amazing! Room very clean and made up every day. Staff very friendly. Can't comment on the restaurant as didn't use it, but looks nice.

Shower needs a longer cover as every time we used it, it soaked the floor/bathmat. Pillows were a little flat for my liking but still slept really well.

The hotel is exactly what we needed for a 3 night stay in Reykjavik! The location was perfect and it was easy to get around on foot to the cafes, restaurants and other sites. It was also close to bus stops for tour pick up and drop offs! The room was small but exactly what we needed and the shower had great pressure and lovely smelling toiletries - exactly what we needed to try and recover from our jet lag. The only “negative” comment to make would be due to the placement of the shower door, the bathroom floor often got wet. Aside from that everything was wonderful, the staff were super friendly and helpful and we were even able to check in early which was a godsend after our flight from Canada arrived at 5:30am. I highly recommend Hotel Von to anyone visiting Reykjavik and I can’t wait to go back some day soon! :)

As I mentioned above, only one small complaint about the shower getting the floor a bit wet but other than that it was all wonderful!!

Stayed a night at Hotel Von. It is a chic, trendy and a cool boutique hotel in the heart of Reykjavik. You can't really fault the hotel's location. Next to the hotel, there is a supermarket on your right and a lot of shops and restaurants nearby. Fantastic location. When you step in to Hotel Von, a nice trendy cafe sets the scene and a small counter is where you process with the registration. Gattis is an awesome guy, we were tired after a long night and he allows us to check in and have a rest. Also, he assigned us a better room as well. We are very appreciative of his kind gesture. The room is fabulous, simple, trendy, clean and functional. Love it. The bathroom is clean and minimalist. Most importantly, it serves us well with all the Shower Gel, Shampoo and Hair Conditioner provided. Towels are fluffy and clean. We had a memorable stay because of their flexibility and very anticipatory of guest's requirement. Isn't it this is the core of the hospitality and service industry? Thank you Hotel Von. You are simply the best!

Great location within walking distance of all major attractions of Reykjavik. The hotel is small, boutique style, great staff, clean quiet rooms and amazing value for money.

There is very little about the property i didn’t like. Some visitors complained about lack of parking, but street parking and a local car park were fine for our rental car. So my o my very slight improvements maybe would be some facial tissues in the room, maybe some more tea and coffee sachets for the room and lastly, the trash in the room, could you have one for recycling too? Honestly these are very minor points and in no way would it influence me on recommending this hotel.

Excellent boutique hotel in central Reykjavik, very friendly staff. Really cool looking place, we were given a free upgrade to a junior suite upon arrival by a very friendly member of staff. Our room had an amazing view of the bay (we could even see the whales from our window!) Very comfortable bed, slept like a baby after a long day exploring. Room was spotless, cleaned every day and topped up with coffee each day.

The room wasn't exactly massive although Reykjavik is an expensive place and reminiscent of Paris in the sense of rooms can be expensive and not the biggest although I have to say it was perfect for my needs. All in all I would say it was worth the money and wouldn't hesitate to book again.

I liked that they use Soley Organics refillable cosmetics and the bathroom design is very nice. The room is cozy and looks lovely, the views are also great. The location is perfect as well, the windows are very well insulated and as soundproof as possible. Easy and fast check in. There were enough towels and even washcloths. The room was very clean.

The biggest minus was the bed, not comfortable at all, worn out mattress, much too soft and especially worn out in the middle. I had a stiff neck the next morning and hip pain and could not really sleep. The guests from neighbor room came back from partying at 2AM and made a lot of noise, slamming doors 5 times and talking very loud (this behaviour is obviously not the hotels fault but the walls are definitely not soundproof).
