The suites were very spacious - we reserved two, one for our two teenage boys and a king suite for us and our 3 year old. Both suites (in different buildings) were very spacious, great layout and views. Extremely well stocked with dishes, a fridge, coffee and creamer, utensils, wine glasses. The suites are very modern and new, beds were very comfortable and the room was extremely clean. The bathroom was huge too! Also very quiet with neighbors next door and above us, we didn't hear hardly anything. The whole experience was very peaceful and relaxing. Not to mention you're right down the road from the famous black beach! We didn't get a chance to see the northern lights during our trip, but the location of this place would easily allow you to see them from your porch if they appeared. Everything was perfect and would highly recommend this place!

It is a spectacular place and worth the extra investment. The view is like no other, and the location puts you right in the middle of the sites in the Vic area.

This was the most expensive property of the eight on our trip. However, our only criticism is there is no restaurant on the property. The associated Hostel did have frozen food, but a restaurant, even bar food, would have been appreciated.

Wonderful apartments on a hill right at Reynisfjara Beach. The whole complex is very nice with a bar, hostel and apartments. Spacious rooms with incredible views. Small hallway to change shoes and clothes for your adventures in Iceland. All basics are already in the kitchen including coffee & tea. 100% coming back in Summer!

Twin beds in the Standard Apartment. Would be great to have a queen size bed. But that’s of course up to the preferences of the guests.

I recently stayed at Black Beach Suites and had an exceptional experience. The room was spacious and comfortable, providing ample space to relax and unwind. The view from the room was breathtaking, offering a stunning panorama that added to the overall ambiance of the stay. Additionally, the facilities provided were top-notch, ensuring that all my needs were met with ease. I was particularly impressed with the availability of a car charger, which made it convenient for my electric vehicle. The free Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, and the smart TV with Netflix provided great entertainment options. I highly recommend Black Sand Suits for anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay.

I loved that we were tucked away , yet close to town.

There was a bug issue. They were long and white/silver looking. Reminded me of American earwigs. We found about 7 of them and were quite surprised. We reported it to the desk.

We got unobstructed views, and a good amount of privacy. The room was large and the vaulted ceiling was great. Bathroom was also very spacious. The kitchenette was pretty well-equipped. Interior decor was well thought out. Love the huge windows and the thick blackout shades.

There was no typical Icelandic breakfast buffet at the hotel. You could buy pastries/coffee at the reception but that does not compare to a proper warm breakfast. Hope that the property would consider adding this in the future. Other than that, there were no facilities e.g. gym, business center, swimming pool, etc.

Cleanliness: 5/5 – The room was spotless! Space: 10/5 – The room was enormous, with plenty of storage for luggage and no issues moving around comfortably. There's a living room, kitchen, dining area, and even a foyer with a wardrobe. The high ceilings made it feel even more spacious. Amenities: 4.5/5 – The well-equipped kitchen included essentials like dish detergent, cooking oil, salt, pepper, and even a dishwasher! The Smart TV was a great bonus. Bathroom: 5/5 – The bathroom was large, exceptionally clean, and had everything you need. View: 5/5 – The property featured a balcony with a stunning ocean view, perfect for watching the northern lights and sunsets. Quietness: 5/5 – The atmosphere was peaceful and quiet, though it could get quite windy at times. Occasionally, you might hear a whistling sound from the bathroom, and the heavy front door can be tricky with the wind. Despite this, the building felt solid and sturdy. Service: 5/5 – Check-in and check-out were seamless. They offer a 3pm check-in and 12pm check-out, giving you extra time to enjoy the room—which you'll still wish was longer because it’s such a perfect stay. Be sure to check in early to catch the sunset!

Being on the second floor, adding an elevator would be a nice improvement, as carrying luggage up the stairs could be challenging.

The view was supposed to be excellent, but we got hit with bad weather for the whole duration (3 days) the visibility was under 100m. The suite is too roomy, and there are wasted space in the hallway which could make the usable space even bigger. Patio with chairs, full kitchen and microwave, again too bad for the weather, we didn't use the patio, but we did use the kitchen.

The roads from reception to suite was full of pot holes, and in bad weather, even the road from the complex to Road 1 need a lot of caution, since it's entrance is at the hill. Going to/from the nearest town Vik, about 4 miles, take at least 10 mins in bad weather. Restaurants at Vik is extremely crowded and they closed early; reservation is highly recommended unless you don't mind eating at gas station.

The room was incredible. So well decorated and the most spacious room of our whole two week trip. We didn't want to leave. The location was so convenient to all the things we wanted to see in the south. It has a small but useful kitchen with mini fridge, two burner stove, microwave, Keurig machine and electric tea pot. The view out to the golden fields with the water in the distance was peaceful. The room was very clean, parking was easy and we slept very well!

Wasn't much to not like. I guess I would say no outdoor furniture on the porch/balcony. I'm sure most people don't want to sit outside in Iceland, but we had two beautiful days while we were there.

Loved the location, comfy beds, and well-stocked kitchenette. This suite had plenty of space for our family of three, and the kitchenette provided everything we needed for cooking dinner, lunch and breakfast - also convenient to the Kronan grocery store in Vik. Bed and bedding were super comfortable and provided a restful sleep (and thick, darkening drapes for those who need it in the summer). Best of all was the view across the black sand beach and cliffs to the ocean, and the location convenient to all our adventures in Vik, Skogar, and the Dyrholaey Cliffs. Also a great place to snuggle in and read if it's a rainy, foggy day. We arrived late and it was easy to pick up the keys at the Barn, plus they had light breakfast options available for purchase the next morning, since we had not yet been to the store. Everything was very clean, and it was a terrific place to stay for a few days. Also, we all really, really loved the herbal soap, etc. provided. After staying in a few hotels with generic one-gel-for-all soaps, the different hand soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner were very welcome - felt and smelled great. We also received a free upgrade for a superior suite when we checked in, which was most appreciated!

TV access was a little confusing. We didn't need it much, but couldn't quite figure out how to access channels (looks like Netflix was available, tho).
